Lovely video, great views of the land. I watched it twice 😊. You’ve a great blow off the chopper - we were never able to side fill off the double chop. Mighty big fields too, up in Galway we have to put in walls to get rid of the stones.
Double Chop????? We introduced Precision chop in UK back in the late 1960s! Cattle were able to feed directly on the heep controlled by an electric fence! And I never had a problem running The Pit at all! ;-)
I enjoyed this, never seen a 360 on a clamp before but it actually looks right at home on it! Only query I got is how to you get the dry matter right, cos is mowed chopped and not wilted?
was all done that way back in the day .........in the 60s and early 70s contractors would work on wet days also unless it was pissing rain ...........season lasted from mid may till october ..... farmer was responsible for doing the pit ....... buckrake arrived in one of the trailers and was tipped up and farmer yoked it to their own tractor ........and a army of men with forks to spread it out on the pit ..........spent many a day on the pit with a fork in my youth .................
No better yoke for chopping sliage then the double chop, if it's mowed down and chopped in this way makes even better sliage. The pit will be well compacted with that Excavator on it 👌👍
a good week would see a mighty pit in the yard ............ in 2012 me and another man putin 70 acres between the downpours with a 1987 krone forage wagon , it was a heavy crop as we started on june 10 ....
Now that's a silage video and no lottery needed to pay for gear
Great to see the old machine's still doin their part, great viewing, & put to great music, brilliant stuff...😁
Best silage video of 2020!

This is luxury, my poor old Taarup had to tow the silage trailer as well
Class Video.😊 nice to see something different
Getting it in cheap that’s what it’s about 👍🏼
Man at the pit must be under SERIOUS pressure Bai ! 😂😂
different style on the pit , using a Hyundai digger! Awesome👍👌😂

That Taarup works lovely, I bet the gearbox on it is roasting!

Some job hai, strange but class way of doing it
Good video
How many acre would u clear in the hour? 2.5? Some time saved on mowing.
I have been thinking of that too, i have bought myself a taarup 1500 to chop wholecrop
About 15 acres a day is good but with side throwing, big fields and a 6 foot, 2.5 may be possible
Incredible footage, music and editing. well done lad. Where you based?

Great job some crack
Real farmers not afeerd to do the job themselves.
Double chop made the best quality silage. The precision chop silage didn't match it at all.
