I have 2 chicks coming tomorrow, so anxious to see their beautiful eggs!!
They are really beautiful birds.......never heard of them until today; thank you! It is amazing how much effort goes into establishing new breeds with special features.
It really is amazing!
Don’t be jealous but I got 4 young cream legbars given to me ! I’m so excited to add to my flock. They lay green eggs but look more like blue but I’m ok with that .
Free Legbars!!! You win!!!
It is a fantastic breed. They are great foragers and very predator aware. The roosters would give their lives for the hens. They are good egg layers and lay around about 200 eggs a year even in the second and third year still around 180. For the last three years I haven't lost even one chicken. They ate very robust and tolerate heat and cold. The only thing they don't like is snow and confinement. They are happy and calm in a big coop and run with plenty of cover like hedges. They do go broody if they are happy and are great devoted mothers. Keeping more than one rooster if they did grow up togethet isn't a problem either. They do look after the hens together. The firtility and hatching rate is great, so far I've had a 100% fertility and hatching rate. The eggs weigh around 60 grams (2 ounces).
You won't be disappointed if you buy them. The only thing you need is a high fence as they can fligh over a six feet high fence without any effort if they want to. They are fun to watch, curious and do trust their owner once they had time to get used to him. I haven't regretted once keeping them. I started off with 3 hens in 2021 and my flock has increaded to 13 hens and 3 roosters so far. One hen is broody again and has been sitting on 7 eggs for three days soon a few chicks will be added again to the flock.
We agree they are great! Thanks for sharing your experiences with them!
I got two chicks from our local pet feed and animal store. I loved the one I got that looked like a chipmunk and the second was a beautiful cinnamon colored bird. At the time I didn't know what kind of birds I chose. I just liked the colors. well, I ended up with a Long Island Red and a cream barleged. I didn't know what the cream barleged chicken was and began using google lookup and learned the one chick was a female cream. As I read up on her, I was extremely excited to find out what a great calm bird she is. Thank you for more information on her. I can't wait for her eggs, about 2-3 months from now. Thank you for the information!
Glad to hear you are happy with your selections! Thanks for watching!
Thank you I had to Google lens to figure out the breed. Everything you said is pretty right on. They will sleep in my arms. Thank you for your help 🐥
Our pleasure!
We have 3 legbar chickens and we love them and there green eggs.
They are pretty awesome!
Getting my first chickens this year. I ordered chicks and chose to wait for late august shipping, to wait on a cream leg bar.
It’s always worth it to wait for what you want!
I just got 4 today!!’ ❤
I guess you need to watch the spotlight video again! 🤣
@@HobbyFarmGuys may have too lol 😆
Great video guys it's crazy my daughter was just asking me about cream leg bars 2 days ago
We know all the secrets! 😂
We are expecting to get chicks this weekend… you would have to cast doubts on which breed to get when it was pretty much decided already 😂
Watch the chicken breeds playlist…you’ll be really confused!
@@HobbyFarmGuys You sir, are evil!!! 😂
Well I love the one I have but she can be wild the roosters in her hatch were early to crow and fight I had to seperate them early
She's a good hen and hatched us out chicks this past summer.... Some Easter eggers eggs and then she went broody again on a plastic light bulb lol
She's funny
That is funny! Thanks for sharing!
Lol !
I have a few but they're not quite 2 months and I can't remember what each looked like as chicks bc they came with some Easter Eggers lol
😁 Don’t worry…you’ll know the difference when they get older!
Looking to get some this spring, if I can find them.
Good luck! They’re a great breed!
I stood in line at tractor supply for a pair of them. They sold out quickly
@@fordayoutube8712 it’s been crazy this year! I stood in a line for quite a while 4 weeks ago and luckily got what we wanted.
Nevermind me… I’m just reviewing the section I missed on the quiz. 😎 And FYI, I honestly don’t remember being told the name of the Punnet Square. I remember using it to figure out all the possible outcomes but not who developed the system. 🤷♂️
It's okay, I don't remember much of what I was taught!
Punnet squares. *twitch twitch*
