Dave what’s your thoughts on Center hill lake? My old man lives on that reservoir and I fish it once in awhile. You got any recommendations for cats there?
I am not Dave, but this time of year is a great time to fish Center Hill for flatheads. The way I like to fish it, find a steep bank that drops off to the main channel and set fish it (anchor up) late afternoon until about 10pm with suspended live bait, either small white or yellow bass or small live bluegill. I usually put in at Edgar Evans.
Catfish Dave, come on down to Wheeler Lake and do some fishing. It would be an honor to host you in my boat if you want. It would be fun to fish with you. Wheeler, Wilson, Pickwick and Guntersville all within 1.5 hour drive from my place

Get yourself a gill net for the James River, makes life much easier getting bait there, there are also several bait shops that sell eels around there that work great this time of year

You have to make reservations if you don't want hassle. Best places I've stayed is Rockahock campground and Surry Seafood.
