      Yes. You can tell that he had at least academic fencing skills. DHP is a genius with physical comedy. Every time he kicks his leg up while he's on the piano I still lose it. 😅😅

    Brilliant scene. The translation bit is just hilarious.
    Niles’ (DHP) physical comedy is always fantastic but I wonder how the writers incorporate these physical scenes and who does the choreography. Good stuff.

      I'm learning German, Spanish, French and Italian simultaniously. This scene reminds me of what goes on inside my mind, as occasionally, I search for a word in one language, and the other languages try to help!

    If there was a time machine and i coukd go back in time to watch one episode from Frasier live as a member of the audience, choosing just one would be near impossible...
    But if i had to choose, it would be this one 😂
    So many great episodes, but this would be the one, because of this scene 😂

      That scene from Ham Radio is also something 😂
      The juggler cousin's wedding is fun as heck but it's got too may main characters and so many extras.
      This is more intimate yet HUUUUUGE

    I enjoyed this because I speak German well enough.. My Spanish is marginal... And my English is not too bad for a small town Texas person...
    My favorite thought from this scene is that the German fellow was not going to be accused of stealing shoes...

    I was thinking the choreography of the sword fight was very similar to the swordfight between Hugh Crummond and Otto Von Bruno in the play "Bullshot Crummond" .. The play with Allan Shearman and Ron House was from the 1978 to 1981 period

    "I've been fencing since prep school."
    Has NO idea how to hold his weapon properly....as a sabre instructor, this hurts to watch.
    On the other hand, as an equipment seller, looks like the fencer's gear was Santelli brand.

      well, to be fair, he said he's been fencing since prep school, not learning fencing since prep school. Honestly though, these kind of scenes are tough for me to watch, but this one in particular did make me laugh. When he swished his blade and just dropped it, THAT was funny!

      @@francus7227 It's FAR funnier if Niles is an incompetent swordsman. He's been set up by Marty to resolve the dispute in a "manly" way and ends up in over his head, as usual.
