Thank you very much for showing me how to make this bag/pouch. I have been watching almost all of the videos on this subject and you are only one that I have managed to grasp. Phew! I am now going to try and make one for the size that I need.
Great job! The only thing I would do, is leave the foam smaller all the way around. Less bulk and almost no extra trimming. Such cute fabric. Thanks again Miss Gina😁

I just did this with a music theme for my daughter. I like the use of inside binding because it gives the bag added stiffness at the sides. It stands up well by itself. Thanks for all your great tutorials!

If you don't do the binding you will have raw edges inside of bag, if you have a serger just serge it an it will look good. Or use binding for a finish look when you don't have a serger

Hi. I used to sew a lot when I was younger. My sewing machine only had straight, basic button hole and zig-zag settings. 😲 Now, 25 years later I'm starting to sew again. If my questions seem novice and silly I apologize.
1. When attaching the zipper to the main part of the bag you said to pull the foam apart. My question is why not cut the foam 1/4 inch shorter before applying avoid all the zipper fullness
2. How would I add a vinyl protective layer on the lining?
3. Why do you prefer a metal zipper -vs- a plastic zipper.

Hi there,
The reason to sew then cut the foam is because we still need a seam on top of the foam.
You can add the vinyl instead of the lining fabric.
The zipper that I used was a plastic upper not metal.

Great video Would like to see it in cork fabric...would you do it the same way? Can you sew lining and bag separate..so the seams are all on the inside to eliminate binding?

IHi Gina, I recently found your videos and I can't wait to make some of these toiletry bags as gifts! I need to buy zippers and I'm thinking I don't have to get 24" ones, but a little smaller? Could you tell me how long the zipper is once it is sewn into the bag (the larger bag )?
