We complain about the state of our roads (which are bad) but we long for cars with high pressure low profile tyres and stiff suspension. Go figure. Being a huge Citroen fan I'm going to be biased but everytime I go for a ride in my friend's XM all those potholes and bad roads are almost washed away. Soft suspension is the way forward!
Citroen cactus design looks good. Especially, air bumps add a creativity to cactus' design.

Had a new Blue diesel for 4 weeks. Black with black wheels etc. 54 mpg in town, no road tax. I love it... sexy car... Don't knock it, it's great..

I love the new Cactus! A fantastic different car. Having being a mechanic at Citroen recently these are well thought out car. If you don't like it, don't hate cause you can go by something alot more boring if you want.

Surely the review scores should be based on the type of car? A small SUV shouldn't be marked down for having soft suspension - that's a good thing for an about-the-town car - Just like a hot hatch having a tiny boot isn't a negative. It's all relative and the scores should be based on that for a more informative review.
Yo got that right mate. They should have categories and within those, some desired averages.
I actually think they listened to me (no credit given, terrible shame! :P) as they do seem to have scores relative to the type of car now - woo!
Nice to hear about a car with *good* suspension (means a not rock-hard sporty one). Would hope other manufacturers would have the guts to give us cars with similar great suspension setup! Be brave, choose wisely!

After 100k km in it the average km/l 20-25 for the 1.6 diesel with manual gear and 16 inch wheels.
At highway speed with 15 inch on a non-windy day it averages km/l 22-27.
My only real complaint is that they didn't make an estate version :D

The idea of this car is what intrigues me. Citroen of the past has always been a brand of quirks, and this C4 Catcus does shine in its own French-quirky way.

Peugeot and Citroen made a big mistake putting heating controls in the touchscreen.
Yes, similarly, the BMW E60 has the centre-vent temp. on the crappy iDrive, which takes far to makes clicks and turns to adjust and consequently eyes away from the road time, yet the earlier E39 just had a single thumb wheel between the two centre vents, which you could operate without even taking your eyes away from the road.

So this is supposed to be sort of a futuristic adventure hatchback and has no flat folding seats nor 40/60 configuration and not even rolling windows in the back? I love Citroën but this is very annoying I mean during summer AC is a must if you don't want to kill the people on the back seats. Maybe they though a lot about those door bubbles and forgot about the basics? :/
"kill the people on the back seats".... lol. I wonder how mankind has survived the last 100 years or so without AC. IMHO the weirly opening rear windows serve their purpose well- they are child-proof (no escape) and enable air to flow out of the car's interior after entering through the front door windows. Plus, those simple mechanisms keep the weight down.
Not sure how the pedestrian impaling roof mounted spears (roof bars) passed the euro crash test but vive la difference!..;)

Is this another joke? Closest rival Nissan Juke!? Are you kidding me? Whoever wrote that script is completely insane or doesnt hold a drivers license. You might as well say its closest rival is the Audi R8! or better yet compare it to a yacht. Why is it so difficult for people to understand Citroen now make better cars than the old fashioned luxury cars? Cactus compares with Audi A3, bmw 1 series, ford focus dont be silly and say it compares to a nissan juke. The only thing comparable with a nissan duke is the nissan duke in another color!

WTF why do I love this car so much?
I do like Rebecca but please stop quoting meaningless government fuel consumption figures? Also the pick of the bunch is not the noisy, gutless 1.6 diesel but rather the 1.2 PureTech [82]. It's "real world" fuel consumption figures match the "real world" diesel, it's a LOT quieter and it's only £20 per year to tax. Also given the bad press diesel cars are now getting along with impending new more restrictive regulations and lower petrol prices at the pumps it makes a lot more sense to ditch diesel altogether.
Apart from that it was an ok review. Not really much depth to it but ok just the same.

Citroens are well known for being cars with lots of problems. However, I always found the Citroens of old to have good road holding. No doubt the new ones are better than the bangers I used to drive, but I still wouldn't be interested in one of them.

Drive it with enthusiasm, and it lets one down..? It's got a 1.2 engine 😱it's not a sports car............what do you expect 😳
For it to be as good to drive as its best competitors. She never mentioned the engine as this review applies to all models, but rather complained about the suspension & handling, which have nothing to do with acceleration.
One word describes the cactus Rubbish. I tell you a money pit nearly bankrupt me needed a complete new engine at 39 k. Citrone charge £ 95 a hour for the diagnostic and told me the engine was completely fucked and then offered me £ 100 scrap value only had the cactus for 2 years paid £ 12,298 it was a 2015 (65 reg) fucking nightmare

A Citroen já foi a minha marca. Agora é uma VERGONHA. Um carro bonito e nem sequer põem os vidros das portas traseiras a abrir normalmente iguais aos da frente. Devia ter um verdadeiro tecto de abrir e o óculo trazeiro deveria ter abertura independente como têm alguns Renault como por exemplo o Laguna 2.0 DCI.
Assim, sem óculo trazeiro com abertura independente não compro. Vou antes para a RENAULT que têm os seus carros com mais opções, entre as quais verdadeiros tectos de abrir e óculos traseiros com abertura independente.

oh my god, this car is ugly as hell.
No Air con in base trim, no wind down rear windows, no sun roof blind, awful gearbox, its like wet mud, no lumbar support in tiny seats, huge lip to carry stuff over into the boot. Yes, its cheap, but feels and looks it. 2/10
This car looks really bad. C3 Picaso was way better.
