@@maddiethomas5892 ...and I carried one anyway. As long as its a pocket knife, and it stays in your pocket, it was ok. I left school in the early 80s and carried a pocket knife all the time. It was the ones that had a belt holster, or had over 3 inch blades that got confiscated in school. The school principals would threaten the kids(farm/ranch boys mostly) that they could pick it up at the end of the school year. Nope. Usually the dads or moms would go retrieve the knife that day or the next, since they were farm hands and it was just a tool for most. Most of the times, the kid forgot it was on their belt, as they used it daily for farm/ranch work.
@@madmex2k that's interesting... things are different, now. There are mettle detectors and they are SERIOUS about the ' No Knives ' thing. We can get expelled for having a knife... although I never heard of it happening.
Im Grant from Alaska, In the USAF, it was all about safety, steel toed boots, leather gloves, eye protection, lung protection, hearing protection, fire prevention. Josh refuses to wear safety footwear. I hope he never loses a foot or a toe.

Seeing that VW makes me think about one summer when I was 16, I worked in a shop where almost all the cars we worked on were VW Bugs. I don't know how many of the VW engines I helped the boss rebuild. Sometimes, he would buy a bug that needed some fenders replaced, and we would get the fenders for it and put them on paint the car and fix anything else that needed fixed and then sell it. The fenders back then cost us 11 dollars each. It was fun working on them. The boss and I could pull an engine in 8 minutes from the time it came in the front door until we had the engine on the work bench ready to take it a part.

The "Pocket Ref" little black book has every technical info you could imagine in it, and some you'd never think of. Saw the Mythbusters guys using it years ago so I got one and absolutely love it. The person who sent it knows their stuff!

Belts tend to squeal when they get coolant on them and you can clean and most times it never stops till you change the belts, and pro tip when messing with coolant systems get yourself a tool called Airlift, it puts a vacuum on the system sort of like when doing AC work
