The first half of that album is some of the tightest string of songs I've heard on an album. Everything up to and including HUMBLE. is just as good or better than anything Kendrick has put out. Sure it falls off a bit near the end with less strong songs, but they're still good songs. LOVE. is the only song where I'm like, yeah we could've done without that. But that's it! One mediocre song and maybe two or three, good songs, with the rest being all great or better? Shit that's not a bad album at all. Hell it ends with one of the most bone-chilling songs Kendrick has ever put out, DUCKWORTH. a song that imo is only succeeded by, How Much A Dollar Cost.

His last couple features have been underwhelming and honestly DAMN had a few too many duds. This one was fantastic but I'm pretty sure it was recorded in 2017 or earlier. So I'm a bit worried about his next album. Even if it's good, it's gonna have to be quite a bit better than DAMN fs if he wants to stay on top, Freddie Gibbs and Quelle Chris have put in great arguments for their being the best in the game the past couple years, and last year's Danny Brown record was definitely better than DAMN as well
Joe Dorben totally agree with everything you say, I don’t think Kendrick can take the crown back from Gibbs when he drops. Not to mention Quelle Chris, Griselda, OME, Mick Jenkins, JID, Aminé, and many others. Kendrick is dropping in on a more lyrically dense era (at least on a mainstream level) than ever in his career. It will be really interesting to see how he fares in today’s hip-hop landscapes.

This song is my everything rn. Busta has always been one of my favorite rappers of all time (top 3 for sure) and the instrumental is absolutely gorgeous. The sample work is incredible, and both Bus and Kendrick absolutely snap. This will for sure be on repeat for the next lil minute LMFAOOOO

Love this song. It kind of reminds me of Busta’s song “decision.” Although that song had more of a concept, it shares the same type of smoothness. Had to go back and listen to it again and was reminded of how good it was. Busta on smooth beats is underrated heavily

Loved it. Because both Emcees' displayed a master's level of control over their delivery! The sample was magical! And nostalgic! I'd like to see a remix with more Emcees and another verse from Busta Rhymes.
Probably my favourite on the album. It perfectly says, yes it's me, don't panic, hip hop is still breathing, let me dry your eyes. It has a nostalgic feel to it, with a classic touch. Production from Nottz who makes busta albums musically the works of art that they are.
