I worked here as a waitress one season before I went to University when another girl did not show up! Must have been about 1969 ish. Beautiful house. I remember it well. Of course had to stay overnight as so remote. Memories…..
Ah I bet that was amazing ! Definitely a story to tell there 💯
Amazing. Unique experience & location.
This is like a museum in itself really pulls at your heart strings
Some real history in here
Truly epic - that place holds items of historic importance and should be preserved
Totally agree ! Such unreal history in here
That thing with all them holes is a English 1840s Mahogany Serpentine Knife Box with Medallion Inlay and Stringing.
Ah nice ! Very cool 💯
All those holes.
Wow so looks like the house was inhabited and used by this very well to do / military family from at least the 1920’s to 1993 (going off the paper in the kitchen). … one thing you should always do it check food stuff packaging for dates as that’s the most accurate way to see when it was left and adds to the exploration video so much. Cheers for the great video tho mate :)
This is a great find. I came across this while doing some research on Google maps and could see this house on there, and wondered why it looked abandoned. Never would I have thought all of this stuff was still preserved in there. Thanks for bringing us along, It was great to see what was inside, it’s such a shame nobody is trying to preserve any of it though 😞
Thanks for watching ! I agree , such a shame
Loving the old clock's
I like looking at old bathrooms!
The box with all the cut out, was use for your very good silver table setting. In old houses that I’ve been in the silver caddy, would be kept on a side table the dining room. I hope that helps. Love the video.
Ah nice ! Must of been expensive , thanks Paul , glad you enjoyed it 🙌🏼💙
Wow! That place is really in the middle of nowhere!! That is awesome! I love videos like this! I’m not sure why but I love old abandoned places! It is so cool that all of the stuff is still there. I wish there were places here that were like that! I would absolutely love to walk through and be able to see and touch everything! So cool!!
Thank you for sharing this awesome vid and piece of history!!
Thanks for watching !
Wow awesome explore you did really good there. So interesting x
Beautiful find. Some of the military stuff is amazing. Loved the old pictures too.
that would have been an amazing place for sure. loved the red kitchen
Lovely house that. Great video Dale. 👏🏻🫶🏻
Thanks guys 🙌🏼❤️
That was amazing. Your closing shot was so beautiful!
Thankyou so much !!! Glad you liked it , and thanks for watching 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I really thought it would be completely empty looking from the outside of the property.
What a lovely place inside, really homely still.
You can imagine the 6ft of snow outside, really cold, and inside the fires blazing hot and you’re warm and cosy.
Wow, there’s some lovely bits and bobs left over. Those papers I would want to read everyone.
Thank you it’s a stunning place, and hopefully it’ll remain like this for many more years to come.
Cracking video mate!! What a find 👌😍
Thanks Tom ! Glad you enjoyed it mate 🙌🏼💯
Omg that place is stunning 💕✨
Loving this thank you
Thanks for watching Lauren ❤️
Thank you for this upload its very interesting & I like the way you film & your funny, my fave room is the kitchen. cool.
Thanks Lara ! I loved this explore

Legend ! Thanks Callum mate 💙
These property's are absolutely gems you actually try to picture them it must of been there happy days absolutely love these videos
This one in particular was crazy , the history rotting away inside was something else
Wow, this is haunting. Unbelievable to see the remnants of lives lived, and amazing to imagine it when it was lived in. Loving your videos, found you on FB. Following for sure 😊
Thanks Mhairi , glad your enjoying the content 🙏🏼🙌🏼 lots more to come
Awesome and great place 😮a lot of stuff
Thanks Thomas 💙
This is an amazing find. So many interesting things to look at, so little time. I really enjoyed this explore. Stay safe guys.
I could of stayed here for a week and still been finding new things to look at ! It was amazing to see , thanks Amanda ❤️
Absolutely beautiful Dale! Love the high chair and the hand painted furniture. I can’t understand how people can leave photos and portraits behind though. Thank you for sharing all these fascinating explores ❤
My favourite explore ever this was
Came from TikTok, what an AMAZING find! I loved the cabinet full of glassware, that was cool to see. I'm very curious as to what the wooden box with multiple holes was used for. Great video, perhaps pan just a little slower when recording.
Thanks for watching ! And I’ll try to go slower , I know I rush a lot , I get too excited and want to show you guys everything all at once 😂😂
@@escapade_z I completely understand! I love long videos if details are shown. Thanks for having respect for the property! You got a new subscriber in me
It's an Edwardian knife box.
Unbelievably cool find, some really nice spots recently
Thanks lads ! Appreciate the comment 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Loved this one Dale. You wonder why such lovely historic things get left ? They deserve to be saved. Nice to see you explore with my fellow Scots 👍👌💙🏴
I’ve been thinking about it more. Is there not some organisation who can go and save these items?
The best exploring duo on youtube...
Dale for president 🙌🏼
Haha thanks 💙
Just discovered you channel, amazing
Thanks Jane ❤️
great explore...loved everything about it! the box with the holes in is a knife box
Ah cool ! Was such an interesting one this , thanks for watching Tracy ❤️

@@escapade_z you defo will 😃💯
G'day Dale, If that's whats left in the lodge/mansion now imagine how it would have been back in the day, Incredible!!! I have only recently found your channel and so very glad of it I am, you are a truly amazing young man and it is a joy to watch you explore these abandoned places, so far I've had hours of pleasure viewing your exploits, I have seen several vids now and they are all very different & unique, so much to see also your videography skills are excellent too. All the very best for now, will keep power watching so that I can catch up 👀..Cheers
I know it’s crazy isn’t it ! Thanks so much I’m so happy your enjoying the vids , lots more to come too ! Thanks again ❤️
Hi, just seen the video of the abandoned graveyard. Loved it!! One suggestion, get a blue light it works really good to help you read the limestone headstones.
Ah cool thanks !
What a place bro great video 👊
Thanks mate 💯
That lidded box i think is an edwardian sewing box for threads and such items.
Потрясающе, попалось в тик токе , перешла сюда, пересмотрела еще раз , я ваша фанатка на веки 😢😅
What a beautiful place thank you so much Dale for taking us along on this trip my only concern was that you didn't try to save the bird it's quite clear that several critters have gotten stuck in the place and perished
Beautiful isn’t it , so much history rotting away , and the birds are able to get out the windows , most of them are missing , I thought best to leave them alone incase they’re nesting inside ❤️
Oh my goodness!!!!!! Gorgeous!!!!!
This place was amazing , thanks for watching cindy ❤️
@@escapade_z loved it Dale! Great explore!
Beautiful William Morris Blackthorn wallpaper in that big green room
Stunning isn’t it !
Fantastic...Wow. So so happy to see you covering these places and showing us so much. I hope you continue to stick to doing it this way. Started watching you and Adam discovering lovely old houses but now its all paranormal rubbish on his channel. Please keep the real Beauty alive...you know what people like to see and we like to see you.xxxxx
Thanks so much ! Adams experimenting with lots of stuff on his channel , some will like it others won’t , I’m going to stick to basics though , appreciate the comment Cathey , thanks ❤️
@@escapade_z Glad to hear it.xxxxx
Another great video, you was wondering how old that person might be that use that wooden baby high chair I used one and I am 61
That’s crazy ! I’m so glad you liked the video 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Come from TikTok
Thanks for watching ! Lots more adventures to follow 💯💯
Thank you Dale
Hi some of the walking stick r long walking around the land sheep herder use long sticks like this just a thought 💭 😉 great video Dale from Jodie Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦
I went straight for giants 😂😂
Thanks Dale!! That was awesome! I can imagine the life that was lived there. Curious though, could you not have drove all the way in....
We already parked 3 mile up a private road that we shouldn’t of , got a telling off from the farmer when we left
@@escapade_z doesn't he know your doing gods work!! Lol wanker!!
Middle of nowhere is right. That 1st upstairs section you went into was most likely servants quarter. It seemed very plain there. And considering how isolated that place is they'd want them close. The rest of the place was stunning. That would have been a fun place back in the day. Thanks for taking us along. Have a great day.
Beautiful wasn’t it , thanks for watching as always Jennifer , hope your well ❤️
@@escapade_z yes I am.😊
Dale they are hiking canes for when you are walking the hills ect x
They are shepherds crooks. Curved head is for catching lambs by the neck.

Was a great leader loved his whiskey and cigars
My goodness! What a treasure to find. I just don't understand how these people don't have any descendants to claim this treasure. Quite sad really.
Such small rooms for such a large house.
The old pictures are so cool. So aren’t all of the old bottles! There are so many stuffed birds it was funny to see a bird skeleton on the floor too!
It was an amazing place to see , shame the owners are letting it rot
@@escapade_z It is sad but at the same time it is super neat to see because it is decaying. Way more fun than it would be to go to see the same stuff in a museum!
I would love to be able to come along with you guys to these places 😔😌xx
Absolutely loved this video the military uniforms were fabulous but sadly will be lost forever such a shame but beautiful find nonetheless
Hi Dale, @ 10:20 you have a Georgian knife box possibly c. 1820 ish. The sticks are shepherds crooks. I wish you could have stayed longer 😢 p.s. it’s a shame birds shit so much.
I could of stayed here for a week ! Sadly it was such a trek to get there we didn’t have much time , and yea ! Shame about all the bird mess
I LOVE THIS HOUSE!!! I just want to restore all of this and bring it back to life!!! The home and it's location are absolutely stunning and some of the original furniture could be saved. Where is this located in Scotland?? Beautiful find and thank you so much for sharing! ✌️ & 💕 from America 🇺🇲🙋🏼♀️
Yes it’s Scotland 🏴
@@escapade_z
I know it's Scotland but just wondering if it's in the Northern Central or Southern part of Scotland? ✌️💕🇺🇲🙋🏼♀️
@@RachelMunaco1111 it’s way way up lol
@@escapade_z
👍💕🇺🇲🙋🏼♀️
Cutlery canteen is the wooden box with lots of holes
Extra long walking sticks are shepherds crooks
Ah cool thanks !!
I looked up Sir Archibald Sinclair (recommended to understand the hunting lodge) & found a picture of him wearing the body armour that is in the upstairs room.
The wallpaper is a designer called William morris
Theres a lot of valuable staffordshire pot ware in there
Yes this place was crazy !
Loved this video… but I do find it sad because there is probably so many artifacts and historical information in some of the journals that we need to learn more about our history. And it’s just being left to be ruined and lost forever 😢.
Thanks amber , yes a lot of history in this one
The box is a knife box,,,also they are walking sticks but not for helping you walk more for highlands
Have you moved to Scotland now Dale just noticed you’ve done a lot of bits that way lately great house 😊👍
Pretty much hahaha
@@escapade_z best of luck to you 😊👍
will you be doing explored with Adam if he heads up that way ?
@@sarade-mott5867 yea we got loads planned !
I was wondering the same think, I had family in Scotland but they all gone now thanks Dale your awesome. Well miss u and Adam's videos together
Love u dale
Back at ya mate 💙
After watching the video, I actually went to Google and searched "Friends at Court" & "Natural Causes" by Henry Cecil ..... oh WOW!!!!!
Oldskool comedy lol
I'm like you I'm always thinking how come so many things are left behind because someone has been through it and taken something's why not clear the rest and leaving so many photographs that's your history of your family that's normally one of the first things you pack to take with you
It's sad that whoever lived there didn take care to preserve the furniture etc, some how. 😔 I would have loved to see it when it was still
beautiful. 😊 Cathy Ohio U.S.A. 🇺🇲
If you look up sir Archie Sinclair online you can
I can't understand why I house would be abandoned with so much stuff in it. Does anyone know why they would've left photos, portraits, military memorabilia, etc?
This was owned by lord Thurso , I imagine the family have enough money to not care about these things … sad really
Winston Churchill was a great man well respected in the usa
Seen about 100K of antiques in there.....
Crazy isn’t it !
Is that on Isle of Harris and Lewis ? i tried to find that but couldnt.
No it’s in Thurso this mate
Where is it?
Ive hust googled that Atomiser in the bathroom cupboard. It was the original version of a Nebuliser to help your lungs work better.
Ah that’s kinda cool , thanks for the info ☺️☺️
Gentlemen and lady, please let me suggest you invest in some respirators for places like this... The mildew and mould and decay is incredibly unhealthy for your lungs and general health.
I second this! Over time, it will definitely affect your health. Great video
I have one I just can’t get my shots when wearing it 😂
I've been watching you for years 1st with Adam mark then on your own channel.
Dale what's your accent Liverpool way??
Ah really appreciate that ! I’m from Chester so your not far off
I couldn't place the accent lol
Aweosme video... im stunned. Forgive me if this has already been answered and such but... do you not take any of the stuff? Who owns this place? How could such artifacts just be left behind? I'd much rather see them looted and preserved than just left to rot.... horrible.
It’s illegal , if I was caught by police when leaving I’d be arrested if I was taking things , plus with the amount of places i visit I’d be forever trying to save these things
@@escapade_z bit odd that if its abandoned with no claim surely it should be up for grabs
It's still owned by someone. How would you like people taking your stuff if you had to leave for an extended time and your place was empty.
where in scotland is this? i’d love to visit myself
High up in the highlands
Who has come here after seeing on Facebook😅
Whats Derek's channel ? I cant find it ?
It’s Derek young photography on Instagram
You can’t lock pick the locked ones?
We managed to get in one as the doors weren’t locked they were just jammed shut from swelling due to being damp
This should be saved.
Building and most in it.
Totally agree !
Just out of interest, was there a gamekeeper or anyone in the area when you visited? I'm a history fanatic and I would love to go and take a look at this place. I don't want to risk getting arrested or anything like that but I'm so eeger to go and visit 😅
Yea there was , we literally missed him by around 1 minute lol , people have been up and tried but got turned away , we were super lucky
@escapade_z Sorry, I've just seen your message but thank you for getting back to me 😊
That's so lucky that you got in and out in time! Knowing me I'll get caught just as I get there 🤣 Do you know of anywhere else I can visit? My family live in John O'Groats so I'm trying to visit as many places whilst I'm here for a few weeks, before I return back to Nottingham.
Thanks again and I love all the videos. 😊
@@katiearmstrong2323 you would have to msg my insta
always a shame to see such things going to waste and rotting, personally wouldnt mind restoring the ceremonial gear
It definitely needs saving
Were they not maybe some sort of shepherd’s hook? That was my first thought.
Yes someone told me , I went straight for giants 😂😂
@@escapade_z would be cool if it were though!
i wonder where is this abandone mansion located?
Near Thurso
12.06 munutes is 10 downing street
Correct 💯💯
This is where Rudolph Hess was accommodated.
He was kept in the castle I posted , not this place mate
It amazes me how someone boarded up the windows but leaves everything behind……confusing
Crazy isn’t it ! This guy was insane ! The history is mad
@@escapade_z Winston Churchill ……they could box that stuff up and sell it !!!!what i never understand is the personal photos. Very uncaring people …
It's all very confusing indeed!
usually with things like this the person dies and no one comes to claim the belongings etc and gets left to rot
I think you guys should've hd masks on with all the bird droppings. Thats awful that house must've been full of birds at one time. Glad they're not in there with you. Also how did a rabbit get in there and up the stairs. lol. Beautiful home
It's sad to see it in that way.and I bet a lot of them thing are worth some £££
I bet most things in here are worth a lot ! Thanks for watching mark 💙
@@escapade_z I a new subscriber today mate like you videos
@@markkent667 thanks so much ! 💙
que pasa ya empezamos con el saqueo son muchos los curiosos van para la casa
that box with all the hole's was for cutlery
Oh really ! That’s pretty grand just for some cutlery 😅
@@escapade_z true antique for sure there's some amount of money in that house all going to rot i think the box is called Sheraton style.
They took that with them.on a hunt, when servants set lunch out in the field..!
Why would they put cheap beadboard on the walls of this resplendent mansion?
No idea sorry
Okay pretty shameful I placed who owns this estate and they have kids and live less than an hour away. They should know better 😢
Yes I know , too much money to care
Did yourselves get permission from the land owners to access the lodge? Cause if no, you's are shooting yourselves in the foot if not... I know that lodge very well plus a quick Google image search will show you exactly where you's were... So just sayin, best be careful..
No , they know we’ve been in , it’s very secure now however the family have still left the items to rot away sadly
For goodness sake they are shepherds crooks not walking sticks used by hunters and beaters too you are in the highlands after all
Haha I know I was just joking around haha , thanks Janet ❤️
I don't get why the pictures are all off the walls and spread all over the house. Do other people that come in like you did mess with things?
I think they’re taken down by whoever owned it , ready to pack away etc but never came back
