  • The Somerset village of Nunney is a tranquil one with the ruins of a beautiful old castle. Many of the properties are of historical value and therefore listed under planning laws.
Join me as we walk around the village together and take a closer look at Nunney Castle and the village, including All Saints Church in Nunney.

Love Nunney a great history ! There used to be civil war cannonballs in the church that were removed from the castle moat in 1975 but no one seems to know where they have gone ? A great video Roland-Thank you ✨✨✨✨

Thanks for watching. That's interesting about the cannonballs. I wonder if anyone reading this can shed any light on it.

Awesome! Doing some family research and the Gifford were a prominent corn merchants and millers. Many of them were natives and registered at. All Saints Church. I’m beginning to think that penny’s mill may well have been my great great grandfathers mill as a 1901 census lists his address as Horne Street! Do you live In Nunney Roland? I shall be visiting in June 2024. Thanks again.

      Hi Nick
      That’s very interesting.
I don’t live in Nunney. I’m not far away in Trowbridge.

Any guesses to where the stones came from to build those barns 😊 or some of those cottages and the wall 😮

It’s a common thing that castles lost stone to the local community. 😁
