I just bought a 2018 Macan GTS Twin Turbo and its a very fast SUV. Its the Chrono Version 4.7 0-60 I mean its just fantastic. The GTS is also made By Porsche the lower S and regular macan are made by Audi so beware of that. You want long lasting you will be having to buy the GTS which has the Porsche legendary reliability!!!
I also have a BMW and that HOLD button is really irritating, i agree with you, pressing the brakes harder makes more sense to have it only when you need it. I also don't like the fact that in a BMW you have to press the park button to turn the front parking sensor on. other cars "Porsche too" has it on automatically.
You are a lucky person. I don't drive many Porsches but after driving this one, I can really see why they appeal to so many people. Not just the looks but they have the drive feel nailed down. I think I may be hooked!
Thank you. I highly recommend you to get yourself one. I ordered the one with white metallic paint and all kinds of other specs. I placed my order roughly around mid Feb and I am still waiting because the deliver date got postponed. I guess I might have to wait for extra 4 to 8 weeks
Good review, thanks. The type of brake holding feature that you mentioned is good but Mercedes Benz is using this for years already and I am using it now as well, so it's not new. Macan GTS is in my list for my next car especially for SUV, and pending for the new look especially to the new tail lights, I like it! l

Well done Brian. Another great review. One major problem I have with SUV's today is the slope at the rear. It's usually a little too far FWD. Which sort of to me negates getting a SUV. You buy them (at least for me) because you know you'll be carrying large/tall items. So you want the back end to be as vertical as possible. Otherwise you might as well buy a sedan...if you figure you're going to fold down the seats to get more room. Have you reviewed the 2017 Land Rover Discovery? I believe that is more practical. As was the LR4 which it replaces. Looking forwards to more of your videos.
Tried to order one of these in the UK, was told 18-24 month waiting list. Not because so many are ordered but because they will only make so many compared to the diesel version. I think they are trying to keep their CO2 emissions down.
I wonder how many passengers rest their arm along all those button directly beside them... that's my big gripe on Porsche interiors... that aside I love everything about Porsche styling.

@@rnalak111 Hi there! I ended up getting the Benz GLC300. The Macan that i wanted with the options i wanted was about the same price for a full size SUV. But how old are your kids? Im sure it can fit 2 kids in their car seats. My kids are a little older now so all 3 kids are in the back of my Benz. I think the Macan has a bigger rear.

Very nice review. The only thing I would've suggested is a few more shots of how well those car seats fit with kids in them. Were they fairly comfortable? I was particularly interested to see how leg room was for them.
I have traveled with my 3 kids in the back -- 2 outboard boosters and middle kid on the hump. It's about the same fit as a small sedan (like a 3 series), so pretty tight!

For everyday driving, it seems like you can leave the suspension in the high position all the time, looks better and you have a higher position on the road.. Is there any drawback to doing so? Does it come down when shutting off the engine?
Great review. Funny to see the same Clek car seat that my wife and I need to accommodate! The question is: she's 5'10" and I'm 6'4"... will we be able to sit in front of the Clek with it rear-facing, or do we need to either spend a lot more on a Cayenne (and lose the sportiness), or wait til kiddo can safely forward-face? We both want a sports car for the twisting mountain roads around here, but we live on acreage in the sticks and are one of the extremely rare couples who actually needs the off-road functionality of the "sport UTILITY vehicle". The Macan looks like it would be fun on the winding roads, and equipped with the active suspension + Torque vectoring + skidplates could actually survive life on our ranch. It would literally be switched from off-road to lowered/sport modes and back every day. I'm just concerned it won't have quite enough rear seat pitch to handle the car seat with the both of us up front. Cargo space just needs to cover normal grocery-getting... if we need to haul bigger stuff, we have the crew cab pickup for load hauling duties.
+Will Go Pricing is a tough one with Porsches because they can be equipped however you want with many a la cart me options. You can get a Macan for just over 50k but then you can also spend over 110k depending what you want. The tester came in at around 90k Canadian. As for reliability etc, I'd say it's too early as these vehicles haven't been out very long.
well yeah but you'd be pretty stupid not to test 0-60 with the fastest setup you could have. I'm sure times would differ as well if you used manual shifting rather than leaving it in automatic and letting the car sort it all out. Also, not sure if traction control is used in the times?
for all testing, the launch control method with the sports chrono requires you to put the car in Sports +, turn off TCS, Foot on the brake.... load up the throttle and just drop the brake and off she goes.... i have one.... its in my youtube channel where i do a launch on it... pretty quick for a fat little porker
Thought you'd have to have sports plus on to use it since you need sports chrono to have launch control. Didnt want to say anything then sound stupid ad get called a 5 year old who knows nothing about cars after making false claims XD After saying that i am only 16 but my parents do have a macan gts so i know a fair bit. What is the main difference between the GTS and the S? trying to decide on which one to buy, please do help if anyone knows/ thinks its worth going for the GTS!
The brakes and air suspension! C&D tested 70 mph -0 stopping distance for both, it's more than 20 ft shorter with the GTS brakes (same as Turbo). The power in the S is enough to get you to illegal speeds very quickly, so the few more in the GTS is probably not worth it; if you like a fast luxury car, I recommend the S6. If you want a glorified hatch with excellent handling and the Porsche build quality, get the Macan. I am happy with the GTS, because I would not trust any aftermarket shop with a suspension and brake system upgrade while spending only $20k or less (the diff between the S and GTS). Edit: the air suspension sits lower than both the S and Turbo; the adaptive dampers come standard on GTS, optional on S.
Ace: Manufacturer press fleet vehicle. It you look around CZcams a bit, you'll find other videos with the exact same rig... not the same options, I mean the same actual unit (VIN & license). Same thing with the videos of the base 2.0 Macan. Multiple vids of the same blue/tan Macan with the same reg plate.
what's the point of telling us repeatedly how well the seats fit and how much seating/leg room there is or is not if you're not going to tell us how tall you are and how much you weigh? a lot of room for a 7 footer is different than a lot of room for a 4 footer. a wide comfy seat for a 100 pound'r is different than a wide comfy seat for a 400 pound'r. see what I mean?
I've never driven the Cayman or 911. The Macan definitely feels like a sports car compared to all the other SUVs I've driven and owned. Next goal - Drive a Cayman and 911 :)
Cut off the back legroom quite alot cause back of Macan like hatchback. Same like GLC Coupe or GLE Coupe . Those takes off space alot and give room for engine in front. 🙄 Quiet cost alot money to but and maintain although they're good but Porsche..... not any other one. Beware before shopping Porsche or any German cars!!!!
Porsche doesn't stand behind the quality of their vehicles. The transfer case on 2015 Macan S has failed twice now in only 27,000 miles. This is a known issue which caused Porsche to extend their warranty to 7 ys. Their "improved" transfer case lasted only 2 years 2 months and 9,000 miles. I am out of warranty by 6 weeks and Porsche turns their back on problem and sticks me for $3,200 repair. Don't buy a Porsche w/o extended warranty for entire length of time you expect to own it. #1 rated warranty company - Endurance - won't even sell coverage on Macan. That should tell Porsche and all potential buyers something. Customer experience is far from an expected premium car brand experience.
@9:30 "They do fit quite nicely" Really??? No they don't. They BARELY fit at all. The back of the baby seat is touching the back of the adult seat. That's not advised. And you have NO ROOM at all to move your seat back if you're 5'10'' or bigger. You're going to be snugging your front seat upright and close to the dash. It will TECHNICALLY FIT, but only just and definitely NOT comfortably.
Depends what seat you have. The Clek Foomf is overly large with a rebound system when installed rear facing. The seat was adjusted to my wife who is 5’8” with no concern. Rear facing takes waaaay more room than front facing. We had no issue but I appreciate the comment and feedback and yes, taller front passengers could have problems with this seat.

I think I wrote it that way because I wanted to buy a Macan and even took one home for a whole weekend to test drive only to find out my Clek Foomf basically didn't fit in the back unless I pulled the front seat so far forward that I couldn't drive properly. I was so frustrated that it fit in my 2018 Golf R, but not an SUV. I ended up writing off the Macan then and there. But... maybe time to give it another try. I don't know.
No worries. That video was done a long time ago. Kids are bigger now so not sure how it would handle them now. I’d still love to have one but would be a second vehicle.

I've had both. The GTS is far sportier than the SQ5 and much more fun. Similar enough to decide based on looks and price.

$1500 will buy you a Cobb Accessport and you'll make light work of the GTS in a race and leave thousands in your pocket.
GTS has 20 more HP then S and 40 less then Turbo according to the reviewer. You can easily get turbo power from the S model with a simple tune.

I think I wrote it that way because I wanted to buy a Macan and even took one home for a whole weekend to test drive only to find out my Clek Foomf basically didn't fit in the back unless I pulled the front seat so far forward that I couldn't drive properly. I was so frustrated that it fit in my 2018 Golf R, but not an SUV. I ended up writing off the Macan then and there. But... maybe time to give it another try. I don't know.
No worries. That video was done a long time ago. Kids are bigger now so not sure how it would handle them now. I’d still love to have one but would be a second vehicle.

Uhh no, it's a Porsche Macan front end.

+Everyday Reviews Haha yea I know I kid I kid, just pointing out that the Sportage and both Porsche's crossovers have similar front end so that people stop saying the Sportage looks ugly. Wouldn't be surprised if Kia's design chief Peter Schreyer was inspired by Porsche when he did the Sportage, given that he was with Audi.
