I race this sport and during a practice session someone did the exact same thing to a superclass rider. But he didnt just fly over. He got his arm stuck under the gate with all the hydraulics and he was rushed to the hospital. His left arm had to be amputated. This is not just a joke to fake a beep sound its serious. This is one of the reasons why bmx racing is such a hard sport

As a BMX racer, Most of the time i focus on trying to stand up, balance, and make sure my petals are correct. I usually watch the light instead of the beep, but if i did hear that i would've definitely fallen too because i would be to focused on balancing and planning where to go. I also fallen on a gate once like that, and couldn't do a gate correctly for years because i was scared i was going to fall (9-12)
Not to mention that a rule is (or at least at my track) is when you're behind the gate you can't talk loudly because it can distract the people on the gate.
