My Reasoning: Captain Price is a title for those who are so badass that the soul of the original Price from WWII aids them in their wars and they grow a perfect muttonstache and will refuse to die until they find a worthy successor
My theory though is that task force 141, as well as a lot of information on Captain Price was classified at an even higher level, and in Modern Warfare it was being disclosed from I'm guessing need to know to top secret.
Also you have to consider the mission All Ghillied Up from the original COD:Modern Warfare. It takes place 15 years before the main story in 1996 at which time price would have been 11 years old. Yet price is still fighting in Pripyat to kill Zakhaev. This is canon in the first three games and gives his character backstory. This is one of the most important sequences of missions in the game and should be looked at more closely to determine his actual age to be in the 43-48 years range (accounting for college and any training he may have undergone).
Another theory can be that Price named the task force 141 as a tribute to his father who may have also been in a task force 141 few years back. As for the background information, the father-son duo may be similar when it comes to fighting the enemy or it may also be a cover up to prevent some truth regarding Price's father's mission/death from coming out which may cause a disbalance or something.

It makes more sense to me that price 84 is actually John price’s Father. maybe price 84 was part of a unit called task force 141 that was disbanded at some point for some reason and when john had the chance to name his own unit he called it the same to honor his father. You said in another video that granddaddy price had a kid in 1944, if price 84 was born that year he should be around 40 years old during the Cold War events that take palce in the 80s, if John price is 35 in 2019 then he was born in 1985. I like the theory that Taskforce 141 in 1984 was the original unit. The reason Price calls task force 141 in the modern day is that name is to honor the old SAS unit in the 1980s. It actually works really well.

Modern Warefare 2019 brought me back to cod after to seven years. Its in my opinion the best cod in recent history and they're really milking it. They need to leave it alone and stop butchering it. They're taking away from the incredible story and weight it carried as a reboot.

I've been thinking about this exact topic for a while now. I may have an explanation, and it's based on the time travel theory. It also ties into the zombies story. It is frequently mentioned that the "Dark Ether" realm has people and items from many time frames held inside it. There are also portals to and from that realm in certain areas, such as the Ural Mountains, located just outside of Verdansk. I feel like the ship carried the zombies to Verdansk, and as well, the Dark Ether crystals, allowing a presence of the realm in Verdansk. The nuke's energy may have activated the Dark Ether portals in the area, or generated an opening somehow, bringing all operators, and in fact all of Verdansk, back into the past, into 1984, when all of the Black Ops Cold War story takes place. Just my thoughts, may be wrong, may be right. Let me know what you think

Maybe Price from 2019 named his Task Force 141 because he drew inspiration from his father (Price 84) whose team name is also Task Force 141. Maybe Price 84 and his Task Force 141 are the ones tasked to make the hit against Mason, Hudson, and Weaver but they either failed or the mission was called off because of the Perseus threat. In summary, lazy writing or the writing was ruined by Activision and Treyarch.
The part where you mention: "Bearded man invents time travel" was nothing more than a joke created on one of the lead Dev's of COD MW3. I had worked with them back then and it was just to mock him.
Man, Activison missed out the coolest backstory, they should've had price be older, and then he could be alive during the Iranian hostage crisis so he would of been one of the guys sent for that operation.
Captain Price, the Immortal as he has lived through WW2 to the present. Seems to be around when people need him the most and he doesn't seem to age at all in any of the games. If time travel is a factor then its possible for Price to change events in the past to create the best possible outcome for the future especially since he was all alone in the end when he had to kill Makarov.

I like the theory that Taskforce 141 in 1984 was the original unit. The reason Price calls task force 141 in the modern day is that name is to honor the old SAS unit in the 1980s. It actually works really well.

Modern Warefare 2019 brought me back to cod after to seven years. Its in my opinion the best cod in recent history and they're really milking it. They need to leave it alone and stop butchering it. They're taking away from the incredible story and weight it carried as a reboot.

Honestly, it would also explain Price's stone cold reaction to Soap's death in MW3 (2023). He's already seen it before and the amount of PTSD this man would have if he went back in time to WW2 then flashed forward to the Cold War; this amount of PTSD would make someone emotionless to those who've died.

Potentially 2019 Price named his task force as 141 in relation to a task force his father lead potentially in Operation Charybdis which also was named 141. In which case Price chose this name out of respect for his likely old or deceased father, in which case the father son link persists

I've been thinking about this exact topic for a while now. I may have an explanation, and it's based on the time travel theory. It also ties into the zombies story. It is frequently mentioned that the "Dark Ether" realm has people and items from many time frames held inside it. There are also portals to and from that realm in certain areas, such as the Ural Mountains, located just outside of Verdansk. I feel like the ship carried the zombies to Verdansk, and as well, the Dark Ether crystals, allowing a presence of the realm in Verdansk. The nuke's energy may have activated the Dark Ether portals in the area, or generated an opening somehow, bringing all operators, and in fact all of Verdansk, back into the past, into 1984, when all of the Black Ops Cold War story takes place.

What could have happened is Price 84’ is Captain Price’s father. Task force 141 could have already been established by his father and then disbanded. Price then in 2019 had the inspiration from his father to re-instate the task force his own way. Via the CIA

Then, Baby Price uses the name TF 141 because he's heard stories of this badass unit, and decides it's the only fitting name. It would be similar to if the A Team disbanded, then Murdocks son hears about the stories and starts his own A Team.
What if every Cpt. Price led a Task Force 141, which was always made in desperate times and kept strongly secret, and then the older price gives this information to his son, which leads to another Task Force 141 many years later.

Maybe Price 84 and his Task Force 141 are the ones tasked to make the hit against Mason, Hudson, and Weaver but they either failed or the mission was called off because of the Perseus threat. In summary, lazy writing or the writing was ruined by Activision and Treyarch.

Captain Price, the Immortal as he has lived through WW2 to the present. Seems to be around when people need him the most and he doesn't seem to age at all in any of the games.
