This could also explain why her clothes don't rip off as she starts growing, since they are now stuck to her body.
It only *tastes* like a three course meal. In the end it’s still just a stick of gum; it wouldn’t give people the calories needed to actually satiate the body’s energy requirements. It could probably be used as a dieting technique, but it wouldn’t be able to completely take the place of real food.

It could be she was falling back on her training - when in doubt, keep going. But even if she wanted to spit it out, by the time her face inflated her lips were stuck shut & it was too late.
When Willy tells her to spit it out means he genuinely wanted her to stop what she was doing because he knew what the outcome would be. Even grandpa Joe knew that Wonka’s warning should be taken seriously. He worked for him and knew what his creations were capable of. Violet was just being an arrogant fool. On the bright side she did get more flexible.
I always loved this scene specifically. It covers just about every point clearly that the story tries to tell. Wonka DOES very clearly warn them that there is something wrong, even emphasizing before they enter that everything is highly experimental. It’s almost entirely on Violet for taking the stick and trying it against Wonka’s wishes. Of course, he also did present it to the spoiled bunch and didn’t do AS much to stop it as he could have, but it’s their own stupidity for continuing the act despite him saying to “spit it out” and even being backed up by grandpa Joe.
Yep, but I kinda prefer the "no fucks given" Wonka mentality in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, especially when he's like "The suspense IS terrible! I hope it'll last!" and "I told ya I didn't get it quite right!" when the shit happens to Augustus and Violet.

To be fair to Wonka, he does warn the kids about what not to do, but they blatantly ignore him and acted of their own accord. He told Augustus not to touch the chocolate (even his mother warned him not to do that, especially if he can’t swim). Violet took the gum anyway despite Wonka saying not too (Violet’s mother even encouraged her). Wonka says the squirrels aren’t for sale, then Veruca acted like she owned the place and no one can command her to do anything. And Mike fully acted on his own right after disrespecting Wonka, with him even saying not to do it. Technically, kids’ punishments are entirely their own faults. It’s the equivalent an adult telling a child not to touch a burning stove, but they do it anyway, and instead of helping the child and treating the burn, the adult says “I warned you”

I think I finally understand why she didnt spit out the gum. When she found out she was turning blue, she was obviously freaking out and was stressed. And because she was stressed she started chewing the gum faster and didnt think about spitting it out because she was freaking out
Wonka and other said for her to spit out BEFORE she started turning blue. I think her transformation could happened so fast tho because she is a "profissional" in chewing gum

It could be she was falling back on her training - when in doubt, keep going. But even if she wanted to spit it out, by the time her face inflated her lips were stuck shut & it was too late.

Best part of the whole movie
When Willy tells her to spit it out means he genuinely wanted her to stop what she was doing because he knew what the outcome would be. Even grandpa Joe knew that Wonka’s warning should be taken seriously. He worked for him and knew what his creations were capable of. Violet was just being an arrogant fool. On the bright side she did get more flexible.

I love this video
I always loved this scene specifically. It covers just about every point clearly that the story tries to tell. Wonka DOES very clearly warn them that there is something wrong, even emphasizing before they enter that everything is highly experimental. It’s almost entirely on Violet for taking the stick and trying it against Wonka’s wishes. Of course, he also did present it to the spoiled bunch and didn’t do AS much to stop it as he could have, but it’s their own stupidity for continuing the act despite him saying to “spit it out” and even being backed up by grandpa Joe.
Yep, but I kinda prefer the "no fucks given" Wonka mentality in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, especially when he's like "The suspense IS terrible! I hope it'll last!" and "I told ya I didn't get it quite right!" when the shit happens to Augustus and Violet.

To be fair to Wonka, he does warn the kids about what not to do, but they blatantly ignore him and acted of their own accord. He told Augustus not to touch the chocolate (even his mother warned him not to do that, especially if he can’t swim). Violet took the gum anyway despite Wonka saying not too (Violet’s mother even encouraged her). Wonka says the squirrels aren’t for sale, then Veruca acted like she owned the place and no one can command her to do anything. And Mike fully acted on his own right after disrespecting Wonka, with him even saying not to do it.
Technically, kids’ punishments are entirely their own faults. It’s the equivalent an adult telling a child not to touch a burning stove, but they do it anyway, and instead of helping the child and treating the burn, the adult says “I warned you”
