The title of this video is unfair and misleading, Lewes Bonfire has one of the best safety records for an event of its size in the country
Last year there were 6 arrests and 50 people were treated for minor injuries... out of a crowd of 30,000 attendees!
Oh and 1 woman had to be rescued because she fell in the river

Meanwhile in the Netherlands way too many young people are injured from fireworks (explosives) each year because apparently they don't know how to celebrate safely....
Idk how to explain it but they had to ban fireworks over here 2 years ago because the fireworks they use / buy are way too explosive. It's as though the youth wants the most powerful fireworks and handles them irresponsibly.
Coming from the UK myself it is quite surreal because i grew up with firework safety in mind and over here it's almost like the opposite.
I don't understand how we can do bonfires with practically no injuries and this year there's been like 30 people in one Dutch city taken to hospital for eye injuries... I feel like they could learn a lot from the way we handle fireworks so that's why i'm writing this.
The ban seems to have helped this year, a couple of years ago it was getting crazy. They basically banned the more dangerous fireworks and have a list of government approved fireworks.

It might seem that way from the outside. But honestly, it's not really anti-catholic. It's really just a bit of historical theatre. I can't bear bigotry of any kind. England, for all its faults, isn't a sectarian country nowadays at all. The protestant martyrs (murdered by the Catholic queen Bloody Mary) are remembered in Lewes, and its related to that, as well as to the foiling of the gunpowder plot. Guy Fawkes night isn't offensive. It's just about fireworks and fun. Most local catholics would have no problem joining in 😊

I agree but I think that I may understand why. Jesus spoke about how the Pharisee's and the teachers of the law perverted the word of God and made men twice the sons of hell that they ever were to begin with. He said the priests of Israel were blind guilds that led people on a path that is not good. Many people, English and many more have suffered from the church of Rome. Admittedly the church of England is no better. And all the other Christian Churches have a lot to answer for as well. I think people feel completely betrayed by the Christian Churches and most certainly by parliament and the men who govern over them. Maybe I'm wrong but I think that is why it is.
