- Almost all plants have something to love about them, and today I cover 3 (mostly) hated plants in my yard that I truly value growing.
1. Oleander
2. Nandina
3. Bamboo
I live in the desert climate of Queen Creek, AZ, USA. Zone 9b (temperatures range from 25F to 120F, or -4C to 49C). In my area oleander is everywhere, but I rarely see nandina or bamboo - yet all 3 grow wonderfully here.
What is your experience with these plants? Let me know in the comments below! I want to hear what you love and hate about oleander, nandina, and bamboo.

That means a lot to me, thank you. Hope to see you back again Sergio.
Appreciate the perspective. I like the clumping bamboo, too. It's just so zen and pretty looking. 😍
Clumping bamboo is so underrated - I love it!
Congratulations on one thousand subscribers!
Thank you so much 😀
I have a whole hedge of Oleander on the West side of my yard. Great afternoon shade, pretty blooms(right now at least), and all 4 dogs, 1 cat, both children, and one tortoise have survived just fine.
Exactly! The stories of this killer plant are far overblown and maybe happen once or twice worldwide over many years.
