- Since leaving Europe we now need to do import and export paperwork to move goods in or out of Europe. The process has been there for many years, now with the internet it can be done much faster, a lot is done using barcodes. But, it all relies on the right thing being entered in the right box.

My god you're such a breath of fresh air michael to listen to..! No loosing the head and talking racist garbage.. Love your videos.. Very well made.. Stay safe and happy trips.. 🚚 🇪🇺
Thank you. Glad you liked it. I do have my moments but they are few and far between. 😁👍🏻
Evening Sherralin. That’s was fantastic especially for new drivers 👍🏻 How I did it without google earth mobile phones before we joined the EU & Sat Nav I’ll never know lol 😆 But what you’re doing is amazing Sherralin. Stay safe cheers Stevie x
Around year 2000 I did some trucking. I recognized the Volvo sound instantly. It has such a calming effect on me, the deep Volvo hum.
Very interesting. As a simple car driver, I have often used the shops in that plaza for last minute buys on the way home to the UK. Never realised there is a substantial customs truck park out back. Our regular itinerary used to be: overnight at Pamplona, up to Carrefour at Oiartzun for lunch and top up the diesel. On to the plaza for a couple of bottles of Fundador, over the border and away.
Really nice to know, non lorry drivers are watching, seeing our day to day lives. Thank you 😁👍🏻
Hi just started watching your Vlogs, really enjoy. Thanks for all the content.
Great, thanks for watching 😁👍🏻
Hi Sherralin when I used to clear there 30 years ago we parked in first park and 3 or 4 drivers would grab a taxi to go up town to agents . Thanks for video stay safe Jimx
I did euro work back in the 90s had a great time and saw places that the tourist totally miss seeing.
Now I drive in Canada jeez don't I miss that European countryside the views and most of all the Brit drivers.
👋🏻 Hello Canada.
Thanks for watching. 😁
Love your videos Sherralin
Been driving class one for 30 years love the job big thumbs up to you going across the water give that up to much of a headache lol
Had ideas of doing European work but too old now. Interesting episode and shows how far the trucking industry has and hasn't progressed. Great the internet is being utilised but paper documents ! individual offices ! .parking up and waiting for someone to be in work !. Unless the load has to be physically checked we should be at a point where a barcode scanned on an app at a border point is all that's needed.
Totally agree. It will come I’m sure.
Brilliant informative video. You made a daunting place look easy. Thanks ❤
so cool video ...many things to have in mind.. ! sweden🖐
Thanks for posting. Hondarribia is lovely, lots of good places to eat and big promenade along the river. You can also get a small ferry acroos to France and come back through Hendaye.
Yes, I walked from Irun to Hendaye this Sunday. Some very interesting history along the way.
Another interesting vlog Sheralin keep it up
Glad you enjoyed it 😁😩
These are excellent tips, thanks Ms Ballard 👍🏼
My pleasure! Hope they help. 😁👍🏻
@@GBtrucklady they won't help me....I am retired 😂😃 but I am sure they will help plenty of other people. Keep your wonderful videos coming and look after yourself out there 👍🏼
Very informative vlog there, you have very good presentation skills. Look forward to watching the next. First time I went through Irun I had to clear customs, it was December 92, on way back, early jan Irun was full of press and general chaos because the single market came into being. Pity about having to pay for the parking though.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing your experience. 😁👍🏻
Very informative and interesting
Showing the new bees how to clear cuntstums in different countries , have a safe journey and keep on trucking xxxx
👋👍Super,take care out there.
Will do thank you 😁👍🏻

Will do, thank you 😁
What a lot of information thankyou for a great video
Glad you enjoyed it 😁👍🏻
Your last couple of vlog's have been good. Very helpful for any newcomer to euro work. Back in my day we didn't have such luxuries and it was very much a case of asking other drivers, keep up the good work and stay safe out there
Thanks for watching.
Yep, that’s how I learned, dropped in the deep end 😂😂 Sink or Swim 😂😂 Unfortunately society has changed, so many people nowadays don’t like to ask for fear of being ridiculed, which is a shame because not only can you learn a lot from other drivers but you can also make some good friends along the way.
If I can help I will. 😁👍🏻
Back in my day, all you needed was a CMR and that could be hand written. How things have changed.
That was when we were in Europe. Things now are basically the same as they were before we joined, although generally much quicker than then as computers and the internet have been invented, a lot is done using barcodes. Although it does require the right information being put in the right box.
We have always had to do this or a similar procedure for Swiss, Andorra and Gibraltar as well as every other country outside EU.
Great video.
Brilliant information great video👍🇦🇺🇦🇺wa
Thank you. 😁👍🏻
Really interesting video, borders are the main pain in the bum for us all but you just need to adopt a chilled attitude.
irun looks a lot tidier these days sherralin it was also once full of uk trucks
Love your video
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. 😁
Great Video But What A Lot Off Paperwork And Things We Have To Go Thro. Post Brexit ! ! ! ! Please Keep Them Coming And Please Stay Safe. 😃😃😃
Thanks for watching 👍🏻 It’s exactly the same paperwork we had to do before joining EU. Exactly the same as if you are going out side EU, say Turkey or Marocco. In fact, we have always had to do customs documents for Swiss, Andorra and Gibraltar. It’s much easier now than 30 years ago because it’s mostly done via internet and emails, the paper copies are really for back up. 😁👍🏻
I sat in irun for a complete weekend in 2008 waiting for customs to clear. I had a load of export alcoholic beverages. I part loaded from a bond in Leighton buzzard and then part loaded the rest in Rotterdam. I was running my C-series ERF at the time. Some Spanish drivers parked next to me invited me for supper. Great memories. The load was going to an ex pat booze warehouse, just outside benidorm. I got a ticket off the police for turning into the warehouse on a fixed white line ! Never did pay it 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Hi, just wached your orange and lemons trip, have you thought anout use ing a drone to check your roof
Nice one 👍
😁👍🏻
Another great video, really interesting for a non trùck driver, you must need the patience of a Saint sometimes.
Thank you. I’m glad you found it interesting. The reason I started the channel was to show what we do, share information drivers and non drivers, the job, “lorry driver” has many different aspects to it. 😁🤦🏼♀️
Wow! The idea of paying to park at customs is new to me.
We would put a bar code sticker on the paperwork and fax it to the customs broker at the border crossing. Phone to ensure they received it.
Roll up to the officer in the booth and be on our way if there was no problem.
Mind you at the Peace bridge or Queenston Lewiston bridge there was no restaurants. Just vending machines.
Canada customs had a list of places that delivered if you wanted to order in.
Parking is a problem throughout UK and Europe, I think the idea of paying is to stop people parking for days on end as it’s such a small space.
@@GBtrucklady, over here in North America, you can pay to reserve a spot in truck stops now. Parking is a major problem.
I just don't think you should have to pay to park to comply with government import rules.
Depends what you are carrying and if the product owners filled out everything correctly
Completely agree. Right thing in the right box 😁👍🏻
Just to clarify Sherralin, all non EU vehs must do what you did. Spanish/French just rattle past on their merry way. By European standards that holding area is tiny! Really interesting. More please!
Thanks for watching.
It actually depends on the goods they are carrying. If a vehicle of any nationality is loaded with goods that are entering or exiting the EU, including those loaded in UK, they will need to do custom declarations.
@@GBtrucklady Thanks!
Lovely Sherralin you just need patience and remember, "It isn't over till the fat lady sings"
Do you need to stop and do paperwork now with every border crossing within the EU or just on the Spanish/French border?
Basically when you’re entering Europe. So you could clear at entry port or like me, you get a Transit form (T form) and clear at destination country.
very stressful going trough customs or all its complications it is following the brexit !!!!!
😂😂 Only as stressful as you make it. Just hand your papers in and wait. 😁👍🏻
Great vid. At the start of the vid you mentioned changing the country... what did u mean? Cheers
Hi, a recent change in the tachograph regulations states that every time you cross a border in a lorry, you must stop, finish country you have left and start the new country. Personally I think it’s a waste of time and don’t see the point but it has to be done 🤷🏼♀️😁
@@GBtrucklady cheers for the update. Stay safe!!
would it help if you could put a reversing camera on the back of your truck, ?
Had vans stuck here 2 days before depending on the official officer on duty.
😁 Yep, I know someone who was there more than a week because the paperwork wasn’t right. He paid £300+ parking 😱🤦🏼♀️
Before Brexit every border had customs u had to clear and if you were unlucky derv was checked also
Good evening. How much has the irun border changed? i cleared there many times in the 80s and 90s, and parking was a free for all then. Had some good nights out in that little town waiting to clear. I believe you have a motorway now no more going over mountains?
I would like to do one more trip for old times still have my licence if you know anyone that needs a 2nd man.
Take care .
Thanks for watching 😁👍🏻
The clue is in the Title - 2016?
The volvo is very smart do you like it better than the scania or daf
It is nice and a million times better than the DAF but if I had a choice I’d still have a Scania. 😁👍🏻
@@GBtrucklady its good your happy with it and hope you get to keep it for a while but its definitely a head turner and good luck with it truck lady
I'm curious, has Brexit made it tougher to clear customs now? It really makes me wonder why GB left, since their primary trading partners have remained the same. Interesting and educational, thanks for sharing!
No not more difficult just different.
There are many reasons GB left Europe which is covered in more political places than here.
There was no good reason for leaving. Unfortunately people were lied to and now the UK is poorer.
@@GBtrucklady Oh I wasn't trying to be political at all. I was curious on how it affected your livelihood is all. Changes in the trucking industry here drove a lot of owner operators out of business because getting good loads was tough. No worries! :)
@mickyboy223 In your opinion.
I see more non eu lorries in uk. From Serbia , Ukraine and even Kazakhstan
