Let’s see the display when it’s jammed
Ahh man, I wanted to see what the DragonEye shows when it's jammed.
it shows nothing , it just beeps lol
Nice general overview Vortex!
Great job
ECCM, I wish you would do a 5 minute video explaining how this works. if i'm shot with lidar and am using a jammer, and the gun has ECCM mode on, what is the end result? does the gun acquire my speed because it recognizes it is being jammed and adjusts the pulse so that your jammer can no longer jam the lidar gun. it would be nice to understand how ECCM works and what are the countermeasures to the ECCM countermeasures. Also, vaporware Theia when it arrives, will it offer advantages to ECCM that other laser jammers don't offer? Good 5 minute Friday topic. Frankly, Lidar scares the hell out of me.
I beleive each dragon eye shoots different patterns and it will vary every time they pull the trigger making it in theory un jammable
I really hope you can test TruCam 2 laser gun in the future 🤞
That be fun to get ahold of one of those and do a test and video on it :)
Have you ever done a test on your wife’s escort shifters? I have a duel head ZW5 setup on my Durango. I’m just wondering how the escort shifters do against Dragon eye compact.
I plan on testing that this weekend, weather permitting
What is the effective range of these type of guns? (What would hold up in court?)
Do u know the furtherest distance you were shooting? I have always understood these guns are only good under 1/2 mile, is this still true?
When shooting the far away cars that lidar beam had to be spread out enough to be getting an easy alert in vehicle.
According to their website 6000 ft.
Just over a mile!
In your video you briefly mentioned that the new Dragoneye has VASCAR capabilities. Considering that VASCAR is basically a complex timing device and does not send out a signal, I would assume that would defeat any laser detector/jammer and therefore should be mode of choice for police. I’m surprised that mode is not being used.
Almost every radar and laser gun offers that. It’s more annoying and laborious to use. Pointing and clicking is way more convenient and also valid for issuing tickets.
Thanks for the clarification.
VASCAR usually requires fixed distance markings in the road, which are easy to recognize, but also means the officer is in fixed locations.
most cops aim and shoot. honestly people using jammers are very very rare. just look around and see if you can find any one.
Well I'm. Not worried Alp hasn't let me down yet lol
You have a fantastic sight. I need to ask a question. Uniden r3 or r4 Trying to decide which to get and don’t see many videos on r4. Thanks. 👍🇨🇦
Here ya go: czcams.com/video/gmqs2urpw0Q/video.html
@@VortexRadar thank you. Don’t know how I missed that video. Thanks again. 👍🇨🇦
What does a Lidar gun do differently in "weather mode" than in normal mode? More power? Filtering? Waiting for multiple returns to check accuracy?
Main thing is ignore close range reflections where rain/snow has the most impact so it reduces the minimum range of the gun.
I have a question for you I have a escort max cam 360c I can’t find a mount for it online will the mag mount they use on a escort max 360c work on a max cam 360c if anyone would know it would be you hard time finding it
I want the sticky cup with mag mount for the Tacoma I have a blind mount in the corvette that way I can just use sticky cup in my Tacoma it’s a max cam 360c but will the mount for max360c the sticky cup with mag mount?
Damm, the famous and often feared DE guns...lol
Last week I seen a police officer standing on the side of the road outside and obviously pointed a laser gun towards me and some other cars and I was surprised my Uniden R7 didn’t make an alert. I guess he didn’t point it at me specifically.
Very very common. czcams.com/video/75fsXgZDdK0/video.html
make sure it is updated. but i noticed i had trouble detecting the stalkers i think
I purchased the Max360. but I have noticed that it will NOT let me know when a Cop car is driving towards me and one Cop made a U turn and got me for speeding. Is there a setting to fix this? Or is there another radar that I should look in to and return the Max 360 ?
Is your firmware up to date…did you check to see if you have turned off some radar bands in your settings…??it sounds strange because you should be able to get a strong signal when a cop car is coming towards you…
@@Chicocroata It’s brand-new. I bought it from Best Buy And installed it in my car. I did not mess with any settings as I do not know how to play with the settings. Is there a setting that my come off from factory that I should be turning on?
Yes! Give me the dragon eye
Why doesn't my cobra 450 not picking up laser of any kind? THKS
There’s multiple possible reasons why. Post here if you wanna discuss it more: www.rdforum.org/forums/18/
crazy how many people think a detector is enough these days. all of the troopers here in NY are running laser/lidar which makes those worthless. i'm 100% putting the ALP system in my next daily.
wow the people in your area obey the speed limit, here in VA you would be showing triple digits in that 35 zone.
Some guy holding what looks like a radar gun on the side of the road, I bet tons of people saw that a mile ahead and slammed on their brakes lmao
Probably just a line of cars held of by one jackass
that last guy was flying tough. 50 in a 35
Are you sure that's not Johnny 5.... Number 5 is Alive....
Noice 53 in a 35...
Vortex for the citizen's arrest! lol
I'm starting to suspect the laser gun makers and the detector/jammer makers are the same people.
heh, from everything I've seen behind the scenes, that isn't the case.
There would be too many legal issues if that were the case…like liability..
There's no way that last car was going 51
The fact that departments spend money on these because of their ECCM is laughable. They surely know it isn't effective anymore right? And what are the odds that any one car they shoot will have laser jamming equipment installed where they even need to worry about it? DragonEye seems more interested in separating departments from their tax payer dollars than doing anything useful I'd say.
There are plenty of people running outdated jammers where the eccm is effective. Even my dual head ALP setup had punch through on dragon eye at close range.
Yeah it certainly can be effective against older and more limited tech. Cat and mouse game, you know?
It’s scary how quickly the DE acquires vehicle speed there’s no chance of beating it with a radar detector
You can beat it. We all do regularly by paying attention / driving heads-up... The officer needs a line of sight directly to your vehicle and actively target you. I.E. if you pay attention, you'll see him long before you get targeted and it'll show up on Waze in instants. You might say: What if I'm the only vehicle or around a bend? They don't bother with low traffic areas / situations because: Effort is required. They don't typically setup with short sightlines either as they pick an choose which vehicle they target because: Effort on each and every vehicle...
@@francoisrivard893 You should watch some of the jammer user videos there’s no way you’d see the officer in time. Checkout the thread Alp vs Ohio officer in the RDF forum
@@alanfield735 I got targeted with Lidar tonight on a country road in the dark, around a bend. As mentioned above the officer has to hit a good flat surface target to get reading. What gave Johnny Law his stealth was also his defeat as I was a moving target going around the bend. I got the rear antenna signal, instantly jumped on the brakes, the GT350's massive 6 piston calipers did their thing, and by the time ol' Johnny got a reading, I was below the limit. He knew he'd been beat and the signal went away as quickly as it appeared.
if you have the refelxes of a cat and slam on the brakes you may beat it depending how stealthy you car is. a black car with small head lights and no front plate may take longer to aquire than a big truck with big head lights and a front plate
Man, I love the videos, but training revenue collectors and showing what we know doesn't sit right with me.
What about the video trains them and teaches them something they don’t already know? The video is intended to show us what revenue collectors already know.
@@VortexRadar I hear your point man. Maybe it reminds them about the "adverse weather" mode or some other function that might make it harder for their target to defend themselves later in court. But I can see how it's probably a minimal risk. Still, the whole thing doesn't sit right with me. I'm just sharing how this particular type of video comes across to me, but make no mistake, I love and support your content overall, just wanted to make a note to hopefully spark a good conversation.
An officer has defended his actions in court hundreds of times before getting to your case, they're far better trained than you'll ever be.
How many times have you represented yourself in court? And I'm not talking about pre-trial.
Most cops don't even bother with laser in my experience so far. It's about effort vs reward. If they can drive down the road with their radar in "constant on" mode and catch like 98+% of the speeders out there why bother doing anything else? One good thing about cops, they're still humans and humans on the whole take the path of least resistance. I have seen police use laser but overall it is pretty rare. I know personally I have never been busted by one and I use to get busted a LOT.
