Don't forget our live stream tomorrow! Hope to see you guys there!
Happy birthday
I imagine a bored guy typing pxpxpx and actually finding something
Megalonio people must have been really bored back then if they found that
That would be me, @Megalonio and no, I wasn't bored, just inspired to create a KO code that would keep all of the opponents down for the count, seeing as how two of them can't officially be knocked out within the game itself (Great Tiger and the first Bald Bull).
Possessing no hacking knowledge whatsoever, I would simply type in random six letter codes and hope for the best hahaha!
After creating many silly and cool Game Genie codes back in 2002, I eventually created the KO code: OXOULU. This keeps every opponent down for a KO after a single knockdown. Definitely among the best Game Genie codes that I ever created, along with the boss code for The Punisher on the NES: ISITYU.
This game is terrifying while hacked!
Haha it is a bit whacky!
Nintendo probably used PXPXPX in the rerelease of this game.
Thank you for sharing some of the Game Genie codes that I created back in 2002 by typing in random letters and hoping for the best hahaha!
My main objective was to come up with a code that would keep every opponent down for the count, seeing as how Great Tiger and the first Bald Bull are the only two opponents that refuse to be KO'd, no matter what.
Fortunately, after cycling through a LOT of different combinations of letters, OXOULU emerged as the code that kept every opponent down after a single knockdown :).
I also enjoyed making funny codes, such as the PGAAPG Glass Joe points max out that you presented here, as well as codes that made the game more challenging, such as TYOULU, the no TKO rule for the opponents and the Black-Out code, YATZEY, which was a precursor to future blindfolded challenges.
Oh man, you made some of these codes? That's so awesome man, thanks so much for your hard work and also some new codes, you are a legend!
Thank you for thinking so, @Super Mayhem :).
Yes, I was fortunate enough to create a lot of cool Game Genie related codes by typing in random letters, after stumbling upon a website called Game Genie Code Oddities, hosted by Rick L.
He mentioned that there were two ways of creating Game Genie codes, either by knowing how to hack the ROM data or by simply entering random letters. I obviously chose the latter, since my computer skills are rather primitive hahaha!
Back when I first started playing Mike Tyson's Punch-Out in September of 2001 and finished it legitimately for my first time nearing the end of that year, I still wanted to play the game and come up with ways of making it even more challenging than before. The Game Genie made that all possible at first, before the blindfolded challenge came out years later.
I always wanted every opponent to get knocked out. Since I was able to beat twelve of the opponents legitimately by KO, the two that weren't originally programmed to be beaten that way, were not going to escape that easily!
After hours and hours of typing in random letters, the OXOULU code came out of nowhere and sealed Great Tiger and Bald Bull 1's respective fates!
And to think that Nintendo NEVER wanted the Game Genie to be released in the first place! It's one of my all-time favorite video gaming devices, because it's not simply about making the game in question easier, but also more difficult and possibly even more entertaining in turn.
We should ultimately have a choice in deciding how we would like our games to play out.
Anyway, I hope that you keep it up and NEVER give up!
@@DTysonator ah man, some awesome history there and great info! I love the game genie too (in case it isn't obvious) haha so it's really great to meet someone else that shares my passion for the device. I can only imagine the time you put in to come up with codes! As a kid I tried for ages and couldn't find anything new so I am always super appreciative when I find a code that does work haha. Thanks again man, great to hear from you!
You're welcome, @Super Mayhem :). I'm glad that we both seem to equally appreciate the Game Genie for all of the possibilities that it offers.
Do you still make your own Game Genie codes these days? I am thinking of getting back into it, now that my competitive video gaming has taken a backseat.
The crazy challenges wore me out over the years (especially beating Mike Tyson with the Power Glove!), so I am looking forward to actually having some fun again for a change hahaha!
@@DTysonator haha that sounds like an intense challenge man! I'd give it a try if I had the power glove too haha. As for trying to make new codes, when I do game genie hacking vids I do try to come up with some unique ones myself, not always a success though but it's fun trying variations of working codes and stuff to see what happens. It'd be great if you try to make new ones man!
This guy is going in my top 10 underrated youtubers
Hey! You done my request! Great video!
Haha yeah mate! It was a great suggestion. Thanks!
My Birthday is September 8th also !!! And now you got a new subscriber!
Dont know if ill be there ill try to come
All good mate! Would be great to see you if you can!
Hi Tim , hoooowl . This video is great even though it is my 3rd or 4th time round .
You legend :D
What’s weird is I had this game but after the Tyson fight there was another boss it was a Genie who would ghost around the ring and you could only hit him while he was solid or am I thinking of another boxing game on NES I coulda swore it was punch out, was there a punch out 2? That might be it dunno
Sounds weird for sure mate! I'm not a punch out expert but I don't recall seeing a genie! It may have been a hacked or a different game. Maybe someone else knows?
Great Tiger is the only person that resembles a "genie" in the Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! game, & he is the 6th opponent you will face.
Maybe you're thinking of Power Punch II? It has been rumoured to be a sequel of MTPO!, but was changed last minute due to legal complications!
How do you enter them
I am using a emulator
Do the codes work for the delta emulator ? Or would I need to find the 6 letter codes?
How do get to the code screen
You need to go to the cheat section in an emulator, or get a game genie
Nick From Wii Sports how do I get to add a code screen in retro arch ?
Any chance we can get more crappy over sized on screen graphics to cover up the most embarrassing gameplay possible?
haha I never have claimed to be good at this game! But you do realize that's what the game genie looks like on the NES?
James I'm sorry your arms are the way they are ... Maybe cause your mum smoked through her pregnancy .
Suh suh suh. 😂😂😂😂 (Z)
Most useless codes I ever heard of.
3rd!🥉🥉🥉
Whoop-dee-do.
Happy belated Birthday. This game was actually created by Mike Tyson.
