- Thanks to Mark Arnold (Gavin Wyle), we now have many lost episodes of The Edge of Night that were not aired on either the AOL run or the USA Cable syndication. Mark kindly offered his VHS collection recorded from the original ABC run during that period and I am thrilled.
Prequel #2 is the very FIRST meetings of Raven Alexander and Sky Whitney (Jeff Brown). Episodes aired in late December 1980 and early January 1981. The chemistry and electricity between them was present from moment ONE.
Proctor & Gamble Production. ABC Daytime.
And so it begins, the Sky and Raven Era. I’ll never get tired of this.
I'm rewatching the Margo Dorn mystery, another great one from Mr. Slesar. The Jeff Brown story was his last greatest IMHO. I see so much of his style in the prime time serialized programs nowadays. EON was unique and ahead of its time!
Sky looks dashing. I just love this soap. It never gets old.
We’re lucky to have this collection; what a cast..thank you for making these episodes available, Ms. Gabat
I'm on August 6 1981, and Edge is getting really good. The chemistry between Raven and Sky is awesome. I'm thankful to Mark Arnold for uploading episodes to see this amazing soap.
wonderful. you were my favorite on the show, Sharon.
Thank you! I LOVED that character and LOVED working with the one and only Larkin Mallloy. It doesn't get better than that.
And holy crap!! That chemistry!...❤️🔥🔥
THIS IS AWESOME!!!! I cannot wait for more!!! :o)
Wow~~~you have Frances Fisher with Larkin! I almost forgot that they worked together.
Loved Raven and Sky best daytime couple
I had such a crush on Larkin Malloy, Handsome and charismatic and undeniable magnetism ‼️
Undeniable!!
Love it! Thank you so much Sharon for sharing… loved Raven and Sky… match made in Heaven or somewhere in another region! LOL, because in actuality, Raven met Jefferson Brown who was impersonating Schuylar Whitney… but Jefferson fell for Raven’s charms too!
I loved raven and sky back in the day
This is AMAZING 😍😍 !! I have never seen these 😁Thanks Mark!
Thank you for loading this, I never did see these scenes with sky and Raven or I should say Jefferson Brown and Raven first met.
I have a bunch more to load up. I'll get to it... i've been crazy busy.
Awesome!
Sharon, you still look great. For being 40-plus years ago, you must have great genes.
Healthy parents for sure being that she is one of nine siblings. 🙂
OMG! That line from Sky ‘I find you charming, I’ll have to find out if you’re wicked or not’ was totally hot. Thank you for posting this. 🥰
Raven reminds me of Another World’s Rachel when Robin Strasser was playing her.
I didn’t watch The Edge of Night. In Philadelphia it wasn’t running on the network (I think) but the local UHF station. There were too many soaps but not enough time slots. That said, all I heard about were Sky and Raven. Oddly enough, I watched Larkin Malloy on AMC and GL. He was quite popular.
I have to keep reminding myself that this is Jeff Brown and not Sky-Mr. Malloy's performance is THAT good!
What a treat!
Thank you! For ME too! I had not seen these scenes since we taped them.
Raven actually thought of Geraldine as her mother. When I first started watching The Edge of Night, I thought Raven & Geraldine were mother & daughter.
Nice!
RAVEN: I am practically your daughter.
GERLADINE: Heaven forbid!
LOL!
Geraldine's lines were the best! 😆
HAHAHA!!!
RAVEN: One doesn't get anything without one asking.
Great first meeting on a soap!
Such a good ‘meet cute’.
Thank u Mark Arnold! Always felt him and Rick Hearst who played Alan-Michael on Guiding Light in the 90s looked so alike that they could have played brothers.😄
They still can!
Lois always had my attention with her line delivery. She could say more with her eyes than most actors could say with a week's worth of scripts. She was the American Maggie Smith! I can just imagine her in classic movie roles played by Edna May Oliver, Judith Anderson or Ethel Barrymore. And of course her family was a part of classic Hollywood as well!
Lois was a treasure. Everyone adored her. I was so fortunate to be able to sit in a set with her all day and mostly LAUGH. And OH her stories...
Love Raven and Deborah mixing it up. Deborah actually Geraldine’s step daughter …
And Frances Fisher is my best friend now for over 40 years along with Terry Davis (April).
This was the beginning of the Jefferson Brown storyline, right?
Yes it was! I think it was only the second scene I had with Larkin. Chemistry GALORE!
Stoic Geraldine and sky and Raven the saga begins, derek always unlucky in love.
Geraldine was clearly impressed with Raven for trying to make her think she should take care of Raven since Nadine was dead...a real "game recognizes game" moment. Such a fun scene.
Working with Lois was always fun. She was hilarious. I miss her dearly.
RAVEN: You certainly are a killjoy.
Love Raven's hair in the restaurant scene.
I did too. And Derek WAS being a killjoy.
Thanks for the upload !! I loved Lois Kibble in The original Cadyshack from 1980.. Nice to see her funny side.. Hysterical. You were very great full to work with her . Sorry she gone now.. Do you have any clips from The puppet murder storyline ?? This had to be right before The actor who played Derrick had to stop working.. Oh Fireworks..Derbra And Raven in the same room !!.. An early eighties graphic of EON !!
Loved working with Lois! I just got 77 new shows from late 1980 and all of 1981 from Mark Arnold (Gavin Wyle) private tape collection and there are some puppet murder shows in there. MrEdge80s CZcams channel will post them. Norm Fisher is converting them and I will post my Raven/Sky stories here but he is posting the entire shows. Check his channel out.
AWSOME NEWS!!!!!!!BLESS MARK ARNOLD!!!!!Btw would be great to have him interviewed with you or by you..........cant wait for the full eps.BTW those missing episodes and the other ones from that period still missing were aired in England on the now defunct LIFESTYLE channel so peraphs im sure some of your fans might have recorded those at the beginning of the 90s.........EON was very popular in the england
Mark Arnold and I did do a Locher Room show together for One Life to Live with Holly Gagnier. It was fun.
@@SharonRoseGabet i saw it but Alan didnt watch EON or OLTL its a different ballgame when the interviewer was a fan of the show.Wish u could do the interviews of some of your EON colleagues like Sonia Petrovna,Margo McKenna and others we havent seen in decades
GREAT scenes!!!!!the chemistry between Larkin and Sharon was immediate!!luv the relarionship between Raven and Geraldine it was so real.Funny the cattyness between Raven and the detective knowing Frances and Sharon were besties off camera.
Frances and I laughed our heads off when we watched those scenes again.
@@SharonRoseGabet well u well aware what they say when actors are friends in real life they cantplay good enemies on the screen,in your cases its a real tastament how good as actresses you were!!!!!!!!plus you had chemistry with anyone on the show, again because the show was so well casted-plus you and Lois are the best
Sky is SO HOT!!
OH YES he IS!!!
You and Lois had such good chemistry. Did she have a good sense of humor off camera?
Totally. Lois was even funnier off camera than on! SO many hilarious stories... Just being on the set with her all day was a riot.
It seems to me that it wasn't long after this episode, that Frances Fisher left the show. Deborah Saxon was the best detective this show ever had IMO. Loved watching Louis Turrenne play her father as well. Anthony Saxon was a lot of fun to watch. I want this show brought back!! Lol
Yes, Deborah Saxon left because she was trying SO hard to prove Raven killed Eliot but was wrong. She left to join Detective Guthrie I think.
"...they are so eager to put women in men's jobs these days that they sometimes lower their standards." Ha!
HAHA!! Even I am shocked sometimes with what came out of Raven's mouth.
RAVEN: Cold beauties are NEVER any FUN.
I loved that line...
