Starting a Fiat 1100 After 30 Years . I will try to start this car that has been idle for about 30 years. The car belonged to a person who rarely used it and jealously guarded it. After his death the car was abandoned and some parts were stolen. Later it was found in an old house during renovations and was purchased. Finally it came to this yard about 15 years ago and was parked, weathered to the point where many parts rotted away

Finally someone who tries to spin the engine with no spark plugs first, it's way easier and healthier for the engine to start like that.
Mine never starts without the spark plugs. Any thoughts?
@@mountainman5025 I referred to the fact that if a engine wasn't started for a long time then it's healthy for it to spin a bit to get lubricated and cleaned before trying to be started.

Why wouldn't you turn the wheels when pulling the car so the front end wouldn't get stuck and end up destroyed?
When I was pulling it out, I didn’t realize, or I would have. I didn’t realize the wheel got stuck until after I reviewed the video

Felicitaciones por arrancar el motor, no pasó nada y no es culpa para nada de la rueda que se partió por la mitad, estaba tan podrida que era imposible no romperla.
In a negative ground vehicle the negative side of the coil goes to the points and the positive side of the coil goes to the key switch going to the positive terminal of the battery. If you hook it up backwards the coil may not work without isolating the coils body from the car.

Я ожидал полной рестоврации этой машины! Да, некоторые пишут что запрещено на таких кататься или уже давно истёк например срок проезда километража, но может и можно будет кататься хотя бы в деревне: это же никто не запретит или в крайнем случае как новая и будет например просто как выстовачный экспонат! Этого уже никто не запретит, а кто то может её и купить захочет! В общем классно что на ходу, но чтобы довести её до идеала, нужны время и деньги на необходимые детали!

Mi ricorda la scena di Herbie, il maggiolino della Disney, quando chiama a raccolta tutti i compagni tra cui uno tutto scarriolato con un faro solo che esce dal cimitero delle automobili.

Da semplice amante di auto e motori ho guardato con gran gusto questo video perché la maggior parte dei suoi colleghi prende sti poveri motori, ci spruzzano gran spray dentro al collettore del filtro dell'aria poi giù di motorino d'avviamento fino a non poterne più... magari poi si avviano lo stesso, però... lei invece ha fatto una vera "revisione essenziale in loco", non so come definirla... MOLTO più rispettosa, oltreché professionale. Non chiedo se questa povera auto sarà oggetto di restauro perché ho paura a sentire la risposta. 😅😅😅 Complimenti! E buon lavoro!

If the rats don’t chew the wires up it’d be pretty easy starting up a modern car.

For the rotten parts the ultrasonic bath does not help much. is very useful instead for cleaning the carburetor. when I start a car that has been idle for a long time, I prefer to do it the old-fashioned way, gasoline and brush!
