- I went rockhounding in the wind and rain... I found some beautiful AGATES and other Minnesota minerals! The river I explored was flooded from the recent rain and snow melting along the North Shore. It was so much fun getting out!

I set down and dig through my area and then move on. It’s increased my finds.
I sure hope spring is back. I got a few lakeside hunts in before the snow came, but now I can’t wait to get out there again. If anyone sees a lady out rock hunting with oxygen on, that’ll probably be me 😊

I ask my friends and relatives to bring me back a rock from where they travel. I like stones from different areas. So much more fun than a tourist type junk.

Can't wait till that water goes down, you will be able to find some really good stuff I imagine! You are truly blessed to live somewhere you can rockhound and find the amazing things you do. Where I live in Indiana there is nothing but cornfields for as far as the eye can see.🤣 When I manage to go looking all I seem to find in my area is alot of granite. The things you find, even the little small treasures, I would pass out if I came across here🤣
must be funny and exciting to wander along a riverside and wondering what will show up, I envy all that can do that. A very red Jasper and porfyri is very nice, love them, you found a lot actually in that wet cold weather, lycky cheese.

i just got started in rocks/agates and ive havent yet been to the lake looking for any but im sitting here looking at my rose and smokey quartz you have me second guessing my stuff ive gathered time to make it to the big lake

Little agates. But, my fave is the porphyria. Never found phrenite. Love Patricianite have you ever found any?
I wish there was someone near me to tell me what rocks I've found or what to look for when looking for Geodes, agates, gems, and what rocks to keep. I just keep picking up rocks then later I try to hit them with a hammer. Most times it does nothing to the rock when I hit it

I love searching the shores but where does he go for these rivers. I cannot find anything about searching rivers. Where you can and can't go.
As much as I like rocks, I am a bigger fan of trees. Was that a Douglas Fir? The needles in the beginning with the water dripping off.
At the end of your video I can see that your conifers are either inland Douglas fir or simply hemlock. If they are inland doug fir, the under side of the needles are white-ish. Plus the tips have red. Also I saw some chaga on your white paper birch. Beautiful specimen of stones you found.
I would need a pack mule, to haul all the rocks I would pick up, that you didn't. 😂

Am I mistaken, but isn't all agate chalcedony just either banded, mossy, or the hundreds other names we give to it?
Chalcedony is none of that
