After touring Sri Lanka we flew from Colombo to Male to check out the Maldives. The start couldn’t be better as we boarded a sea plane to get to our first resort: the Ellaidhoo by Cinnamon in the Ari Atoll. Popular for its house reef the Ellaidhoo is one of the best resorts for diving and snorkeling.
Beside snorkeling we went swimming, relaxed by the pool and simply enjoyed the scenery as it is a true paradise as you would imagine it to be - this is also why I took some aerial footage with my drone to show you the whole beauty of the tropical islands from above.
After another amazing scenic flight we checked into the next Cinnamon resort on Dhonveli in the Kaafu Atoll. While it also has beautiful white beaches this resort is popular for its surf at the so called „pasta point“. I used the chance to watch the surfers by having a beer and show you the several accommodation options on the island ranging from apartments and beach huts to the famous water bungalows.
This part of the trip was executed within 1week by using boats and sea planes - following I list all the places I visited & Things to do in the Maldives:

- Dhonveli Cinnamon, Kaafu Atoll
- Snorkeling on the EllaidhooHouse Reef
- Enjoying the white beaches of Ellaidhoo and Dhonveli

--About the Tropical Escape--
Sri Lanka is an island country in South East Asia which has maritime borders with India to the northwest and the Maldives to the southwest. After a 30 year long civil war which ended in 2009 the diverse country is now opening up more an more for tourism. The goal of this series is to give you an introduction to the country and the neighboring Maldives.
I'm excited to share all my experiences in Sri Lanka & the Maldives over the course of the next 3-4 weeks with you. In the next episodes I will take you to the south and east coast of Sri Lanka - we will go on an leopard safari, will eat the local street food and enjoy the beaches in Trincomalee as well as Arugam Bay.

Wife and I are planning on going to Ellaidhoo, when is a good time to go? also from the video, I noticed that seaplane picked you up from the airport then a boat to the island is that right? those transportation aren't included with travel packages I assume? I appreciate any tips you can give, thanks a lot!

liegt es an der Jahreszeit das ihr "so viele" Wolken habt? Auch schon auf Sri Lanka...
Oder habt ihr einfach Pech?
Ne..wir waren im Juni vor Ort, das ist eher die Nebensaison (Regenzeit) auf den Malediven...wir hatten jedoch zu 80% Sonnenschein! Natürlich ist es in der Nebensaison auch wesentlich günstiger..dementsprechend kann man es schon wagen :)

Wie viel kostet denn so ein Flug mit dem Wasserflugzeug?
Hey - wie oben schon erwähnt kommt es auf die Dauer an. Unser Resort war in einem anderen Atoll, der Hin- und Rückflug kostete in dem Fall 380$...es gibt jedoch auch Foto Rundflüge für 150$ bei dem gleichen Anbieter (TMA)

It always depends on where the resort is located..the longer the flight the more expensive. Scenic flights are available starting at 150$ with TMA

Warum machst du keine deutschen Videos? Würde ich öfter schaun und hätte wohl auch mehr clicks
Ich überlege ob ich die Videos auch in einer deutschen Version bereitstelle..Es ist beim reisen oftmals einfacher die Videos auf Englisch zu filmen, da man so auch mit den Leuten vor Ort besser interagieren kann. Ich versuche in Zukunft noch etwas Zeit zu finden um die deutschen Versionen parallel zu produzieren :)
