    I just watched six videos in a row on this, trying to understand and judge it, and this one was the only one that gave me any insight whatsoever. Liked and subscribed, which happens like once every five years 😅

    This video is rly helpful when you are looking into what performance crackle paint does really have. I have already seen like 15 videos about the matter and this one is, by far, the best one. Tyvm !
    I will use that green colours for my demon army, its gonna be awesome.

    My 2 cents... The No Heats look better than the hairdryer ones with the exception of the Hairdryer/PVA, that looks quite nice. I'm not a fan of the 'bumps' that formed with the hairdryer on the first two. I feel that the No Heat/Nothing looks like if it was a more earthy paint scheme it would look like a dried river bed quite nicely and is probably what I'd use for an army. the other No Heats would be better for a warband type of game or maybe a character, the cracks are just so much more pronounced.
    I'm looking to do basing for an Ork army, and I wanted to use some crackle effects...I'll be trying the No Heat/Nothing for a few bases and see if that does what I want.
    Thank you for making this comparison video.

      The hairdryer ones would be better suited for lava/magma pools in my opinion. The rounded bulges definitely remind me of lava bubbling beneath magma and the cracks are where it's broken through the magma layer.

    Very well executed video.
    One remark though:
    As matte varnish typically provides more grip for following layers, why did you go for gloss varnish?
    Flaking of the crackle paint is what creates the most headache for me

    • @MightyLancerGames
      @MightyLancerGames  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Because most of the time when we talk about pva under crackle paint people tell us they use gloss varnish instead so this experiment was to see what the difference between the two was, basically addressing the comments & thoughts we get.
      I have never had an issue with flaking cracks but you could seal them/ protect them more with a varnish top coat. Have fun experimenting 😁
