- It's October, so I decided to watch one of the most well known monster movies of all time, "Big Green Ogre Movie". What a classic. And let me tell you, this monster movie was disturbing!

I just noticed that the reason why Fiona was ok with eating rats and bugs is because that's what she probably had to eat when she was trapped in the tower. I never put much thought into it but when Dylan mentioned it got me wondering too.

@@wawaicedcoffee She totally did not do that on purpose. It's obvious in her face that she didn't want to kill the bird in order to get the eggs. You can she that she was trying to harmonize with the bird, they were having a bonding moment and she made a mistake and decided to roll with it.
@@faithjolley6034And I doubt the eggs would hatch/survive if she left them, even if the were fertilized. Unless there’s a second bird parent (I think it depends on species and stuff), those eggs would be left unattended and rot in the nest. Fiona did the reasonable thing, lol.

In the scene where shrek is walking with fiona in the castle... 12:40 in the video. If you pause you’ll see a recipe book on how to eat humans. This is how Fiona ate food, by eating the knights that tried and failed to rescue her.
Reece Upton I thought that book was for the dragon since it’s so big (the book is literally bigger than her) and also it wasn’t in Fiona’s room, and she was locked up in her room

The great thing about these classic films is that it doesn’t even matter that the backgrounds are boring, just shows how well written these characters are and the story in general to not be phased by it. Did not need fancy backgrounds to be a great movie and that’s what I love. Shriek is a great classic for sure!
Fun fact: They had to re voice the whole movie because Shrek’s voice actor wanted Shrek to have an accent.

I watched this movie again yesterday for the first time in ten years and I totally didn't catch all the dark bits when I was younger. Yes, that's momma bear having been killed and made into a rug.
Fun fact: They were doing The Prince of Egypt at the same time as Shrek and working on Shrek was a punishment for the animators of The Prince of Egypt.
