8gb vram is enough especially on AMD 7600 card. Although a better buy is Intel Arc 770 w/16g vram if ur going to crybout it.

@@aacc8466Not for 400 Dollars......for 200-250 maybe, but for 400? Should be at least 12 GB if not 16.
The fact is the 4060 is just about equal in performance to it's predecessor, while having less bandwith and less VRAM than it.
      It's a 4050 masquerading as 4060, just as the 4070, 4070 Super and 4070 Ti are 4060s masquerading as 4070s.
The 4070 Ti Super is finally a proper 4070 card, just at a too high price.
Now on the Mobo Situation @PCBuilderChannel yes, you can, but what's the point? If you can't OC a K, why get a K?
Good choice on the AM5 board, 3 M.2 slots are really important if you skimp on the SSD size. Having a board with 4 M.2 slots allowed me to fill those up with 2TB drives (WD SN850X+Samsung 970 Evo Plus), last summer when they were cheap so that I have enough for the next few years. And even have enough space to use them for working data.
My biggest tipp, READ the Mainboards manual before making a buying decision, to see how the lanesharing on it works. Namely if you use the M.2 slots or another which lanes might be used and what either gets disabled or has to laneshare. That tells you what you can actually use and it might save you from buying the wrong board.
I would also recommend staying the hell away from 2 RAM slot boards, bad idea if you later on need more ram and want to upgrade.
Or paying a big premium for a better onboard sound, if you want better sound, buy a board where you can use an X1 slot and get a dedicated soundcard. Even the cheapest Soundblasters like the Soundblaster Z SE or the AE-5 are much better than onboard. It's supposedly a toss up soundquality wise between those two and the Soundblaster Z SE is 76 Euros in germany, tax included. And you can make that expense at a later date. Or get a DAC. Just don't spend a 100 Extra on better onboard sound.
Stats and specs wise the Onboard sounds are equal, but the soundquality under load, when the PC is working hard, like when gaming, is better on the Soundcards.
But neither good onboard sound nor a soundcard is worth it without decent headphones or speakers, as well as good connecting cables. Quite a few Keyboards head heaphone controls, but their cables are shite (Thermaltake TT Level 20 RGB I'm looking at you! Great Keyboard, absolutely abysmal Heaphone jack.)
So if you are interested in better sound, buy a cheaper board without premium sound, buy a decent headphone or Headset (like the Beyerdynamic DT 240, got mine for 50 Euros on a Black friday sale), decent shielded cables for it and a volume control (skip that if you have a good headphone jack on the keyboard or want to buy a DAC) and then finally buy a DAC or Soundcard later. If you stagger purchases like that, you can fit it into a tight budget more easily. And do not go into debt to buy PC hardware!
On the SSD side, I might just say look at buying one that is a bit bigger, as you can get 2TB for a bit more.
Like the WD SN770 with two TB for 183 Canadian Dollars. (Although it seems that SSDs in the US are more expensive than even in Germany, a WD SN850X can be had for 149 Euros incl. Tax, whereas in the US it costs 178 Dollars or roughly 163 euros without VAT.)
If you want to stick 1TB that shoprbc.com that you used has the SN850X on sale for 121 Canadian Dollars. A ridiculously low price for it, especially given that the 970 Evo Plus costs more. (On that note, prefer that one over the 990 Evo, as the latter has no cache and is more expensive.)
Generally you don't need Cached SSDs for gaming, but there are a few like DCS that profit from it. And the 1.1k version can run DCS pretty well, although it would need a 32GB pagefile for the really big multiplayer misssions. The 900 Dollars could do it, but it is
The 2TB SN850X at 212 Canadian Dollars also is a decent price, if that is with tax.
I'm a bit squeamish on the Gigabyte PSU, given that their P-750 and P-850 Drives did fail catastrophically, as in exploding and sparking in a Gamers Nexus test.
It's cheap because of that scandal, it is a different line, but let's just say Gigabyte's reputation has been well and truly ruined.
P.S. Shoprbc really needs to rework their site, as you can't filter by important stats like SSD capacities. Or cache types. And QLC is not worth it, especially without cache. Especially SATA QLC without cache, not even as a data grave for long term storage, get a good to decent HDD for it instead, you will get more for way less money. And due to every sector actually matched to a physical location, you can actually rescue data, even if the controller is shot.
The thing is QLC can't hold high transfer rates for long and will then fall to the level that a good HDD can match. IOPS not necessary, unless you get an enterprise drive like the HGST Ultrastars (now known as WD Gold) they can do around 30-40k, and response time as well, the WD golds can do 2 Ms. which is awesome for an HDD, but they are still slower than an SSD.
There is also generally no benefit of PCIe 4.0 over PCIe 3.0 M.2 SSDs for gaming, so get what is the better price.

But i did have to lower my expectations because of how much sales tax i was paying when making my PC, because my budget was decimated by the Québec sales taxes lol.

14600K or 14700K (better if you can swing it) are great gaming and combo options. For the me 7700X doesn't give enough of a boost beyond the 7600, and depending on how much video editing you do you'd likely be very happy saving money by going 7600 and investing a little more into your GPU. hello,
i am currently building myself a PC as well. I have/want WQHD 120FPS Gaming. For CPU i got myself the Ryzen 7700.
But for GPU i am kinda uncertain. possibilitys would be either 4070Super (Asus Dual), or pay 60 Bucks more for the 4070TI (cheapest Custom Model - KFA2). The third option would be around 80Bucks more than the 4070Super for the RTX 7900XT Hellhound. Not sure which to choose. Some recommendations would be much appreciated :D

My Gigabyte 6800xt started failing on me a few weeks ago while gaming and during Time Spy testing (Turns off), It's about 20 months old. Sent it in to Gigabyte to take care of it. Not sure how long the RMA process is going to be, and honestly I don't have a lot of confidence it'll go smoothly. We shall see. I'm not going weeks without a PC, so I decided to grab a new GPU, I was thinking about going with the GRE. After hearing how much you like your 7900xt I decided to grab one. Got the XFX Speedster Merc 310 7900xt, Yeah those XFX cards are loooonggg! It's paired with a 5700X3D. So far it's been great and honestly way more quite than my 6800xt and runs cooler. Love it!

I watched a lot of videos about the 3060 12 Gb vs the 4060 with 8GB, with many different opinions on which is better. I chose the 4060 over the 3060 12GB because of TDP. The RTX 4060 has a TDP of 115 watts, the RTX 3060 12GB has a TDP of 170watts. More watts mean more heat, which means faster fan speeds, which means more noise. I don't want to play Cyberpunk 2077 next to a jumbo jet aircraft engine. For context, I game on an HP DL380 gen 9, with two E5-2667v4, 256GB of registered ECC RAM. The M4000 GPU, which had a TDP of 120 watts, was great for running AutoCAD 2015, but when I tried playing games, it worked well, except that it got really loud because of the extra graphics load. My 4060 has been able to keep up, probably because it is almost three times faster than the M4000 was. The power supply is dual 800 watts, but heat builds up fast in a 2U case.

Have you ever had gpu pcie cable extensions not work with your gpu? On my new build my gpu kept disconnecting, and I didn't know what it was, I thought it might be the mobo, I rechecked the connection but my gpu would occasionally disconnect. I though it could be sag so I propped something up on the end and it would be even less reliable. I noticed that led lights next to where the pcie cables would plug in would light up. Something I didn't even know was there.
Finally I just took off the extensions and it completely fixed the issue. I've contacted cable mod about this and they said to take a pic and show and invoice. I haven't done it yet because my new 7800x3d went bad after 3 months but that is a different issue.

Yes when you have a GPU issue and you are using extensions this is almost always the culprit and my recommendation is to take off the extensions and use the native PSU cable to test it. Current CPU is 5600G / 32 GB 3600 ram / and running RX 580 8GB GPU ( this my new built system i put together in B550m mother board and i can upgrade my CPU next year. ATM 580 is holding me back and 450CAD my max cost i can spend on GPU, this doesn't include taxes and 7600 atm is 450 / taxes / shipping = 518 CAD for me. Both are looking great to me but A770 what I am worried about for driver updates on new game releases, Do I spend extra and get 7600 or risk A770 for right drivers now? If its 50% faster then the 4090, I will upgrade my 4080 to that, but it has to be a FE card. Im tired of the quad slot behemoths 40 series. Regarding buying third-party OEM keys for Windows: It's important for people who think this is a bad idea -- or maybe even illegal -- to remember that Microsoft literally gives Windows 10 and 11 away for free AND that with its vast resources it could stop the selling of these third party keys if it wanted to. The bottom line is MS wants you to use Windows, which is why you can get it for free directly from MS, but if they can get you to pay $125 for it, they'll happily take your money.

If comparing to a RTX 4060 Ti the RX 7800 XT is the GPU to get where I live these two cost the same yet the 7800 XT decimates it all ways round, even 12GB GPU's I would avoid getting, the 7800 XT offers 16GB 256Bit GDDR6, if lucky finding a RX 6800 or RX 6800 XT can also give you a decent choice even over the 7700 XT 12GB.
Sometimes second hand parts can still give you a better result than new parts, look around over sticking to one store.
