One day, they actually brought a (broken) Russian-speaker to the phone, and because she didn’t want them to know that she spoke English, she switched to Year 8-level French and asked them what they were going to do at their house on their birthday. It sounded marvellously chaotic.

it’s really good to mess around with scam callers like this and play along to drag the conversation for as long as possible so they don’t have as much time to target more vulnerable people, like seniors.
One day when I had some time I wasted about 40 minutes of a scammers time. It was one of those extended car warranty schemes.
And I had that same thought, the more time I’m fucking around with them is less time they’d have to scam someone who may fall video to their crap.
