    I make many of these type of rings, you can get all the fire scale off with a homemade pickle solution (1 cup white vinegar + 1 tspn salt slowly heated) and it’ll make it much easier and less filling, looks great!

    Cool video! As someone who makes jewelry with copper- my advice to those trying this would be: Wearing gloves, At the end, wipe it down with lemon/lime juice (I use a q tip). Then, sprinkle some baking soda on it, rub it around, and use a damp paper towel to wipe it off. This will clean the surface really well.
    After you're sure it's dry, spray some lacquer on it. That will keep it looking beautiful and not corroding for a long time. 👍

    You bave to add solder to the jiont, the ring may bend easily and will cuuase premature fialure. Also thay jiont doesnt look good, try soldering it and placing a think copper sheet over the soldered gap, it will remian copper colored and be much stronger

    *soudure absente
    *limer, d'accord, mais c'est un peu comme le ponçage les contraintes sont à effectuer en fonctions de l'appui de la pièce à limer. Autrement dit, ton coup de lime prendra sa direction en fonction de l'endroit où est maintenu ta pièce flexible)

    Nice work but.... I've found that if it's not a complete solid band then the open ends are prone to catch on things and can easily misshapen the band by pulling it open and causing a need for constant reshaping. Just my opinion.

    Hello what temperature did the metal get up to before quenching and how many time did you do it?😀

    • @rafton3048
      @rafton3048 Před 2 lety +4

      On appelle ça, recuire le métal.
      La température n'est pas très importante pour ce faire. Il suffit de faire rougir le métal qui pars sur du orange pour le cuivre. Il te faudra plus de 1000°C pour faire fondre le cuivre autrement dit, c'est pas facile et pour ce faire, il faut du gaz et de l'oxygène. Ici, pour recuire, tu n'auras besoin que de gaz. Par cette action, le cuivre vas se restructurer mais surtout, se ramolir et devenir plus malléable

    What is the purpose of heating up the copper?

    • @rustyshackleford96
      @rustyshackleford96 Před rokem +2

      The heat is used to “anneal” the material, causing it to soften up. The characteristics of cooper are unique in that they are generally soft but can become hardened by bending or “working” the piece. Once it gets stiff, it can be resoftened by Annealing, you can do this as many times as you want
