- Why do only 9.9% of community college students transfer out to a four year university per year? Today I'll be explaining the three major reasons why transfer rates are so low and how to avoid not joining the 89.1% that do not transfer out per year.
Time stamps:
Intro: 00:00 - 00:49
Reason #1: 00:49 - 01:59
Reason #2: 01:59 - 03:15
Reason #3: 03:15 - 04:40
Would I go to community college again?: 04:40 - 05:14

Yes!! The counselor part is so true! I had to do my own research and become my own advocate.
community college is worth going for vocational school
I am graduating high school this year at fifteen 😬 . I'm scared ngl. Thank you though these videos actually help.
Congrats on graduating soon, it’s a bit intimidating but after your first few classes it should normalize
good on you for graduating early but, if you dont know what career path to go down, i would suggest not commiting to a 4 year and going in debt. if you already know, then truck on brother.
@@Captaine_Crunche Actually, I've already done a year for free since I did it during high school. I am aiming for my associates, so I only got one more year left.
and im a girl lmaooo
I did the IGETC transfer agreement. The counselors weren't of much help to me at community college. Counselors weren't helpful to me when I went to the University of California Santa Barbara. I would rather look at the general catalog for information than go to a college counselor.
Exactly, even at UC Berkeley the counselors didn't help.
never used a community college counselor - i transferred without any issues - the classes that transfer are documented in the college catalog - for me this was back in the 1980's - a lot less online resources back then - so are kids just dumber now with all the online resources?
Everything is online but the problem is people are stuck on tiktok and other apps so they never actually get to googling the things they need to succeed.
Do you advise me to apply to community college, since my grades in high school were bad, to join research university ?like mit , California brekley ,Stanford
It’s a great second chance to get into top universities if that’s the goal
@@adamramirez1 Im just wondering your thoughts on what I should do. Im currently a junior and am wanting to get into CS for a top school, but with how unpredictable cs is nowadays, theres a chance i only get into my safeties. If thats the case, would it be wise to go to a community college and transfer or is that too risky?
the prestige isnt all that important unless yorue creating your own company, going to a decent school that has opportunities for you to get work experience and have you stand out amongst employers, thats what matters most.@@eljefedagoat
Can you skip grade 12 and go to the community college or it is necessary to continue grade 12 , is this effect to transform to the university of California
You can be duel enrolled, so taking classes at community college and high school.
Percentages in the thumbnail dont add up
good catch
Cal states are better for transfers cheaper and more affordable and most people can commute to their local schools
Really good option
so basically u are on ur own
Kinda - I wouldn’t rely on college counselors. Most information is easily accessible online, just takes a bit of effort to do the research.
