Sitges is a resort town about 35 kilometres southwest of Barcelona, in Spain, renowned worldwide for its Film Festival and Carnival. Located between the Garraf Massif and the sea, it is known for its beaches, nightspots, and historical sites.
The Festa Major de Sitges is a festival declared of national interest by the Generalitat de Catalunya [1] that is celebrated between August 21 and 27 in honor of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle ( August 24 ). Its most traditional events are celebrated in the so-called 36 hours of August 23 and 24.
