"Mr Black is cold brewed using purified cold water to give it a delicate and complex coffee flavour. Australian wheat vodka is then added to give it some kick. The final brew is a bittersweet masterpiece balancing sweetness with an enduring coffee flavour. Enjoy it over ice or in cocktails."

I love this stuff! Goes great with a little cream over ice.

I recently discovered this stuff. The second best thing about Mr Black are the bottles. After removing the label, it leaves a beautiful image in black outline on the back side. They change the graphics from year to year. I have a small collection and use them for chilled water.

I think Mr Black is the world's best coffee liqueur. It's not overly sweet and you can taste the quality of the coffee beans. I'll always have a bottle or two on my bar

Every time you mentioned the product name, all I heard was the "Mr. Black" character from the Kamp Krusty episode of The Simpsons.

What a great reaction, I think I know my Christmas drink. Fortunately it's easily available in the UK.

Haha. You’re right, we gin people get combative (or at least opinionated) about gins. And I’m now on a mission to find the best coffee liqueur, so I’m opinionated about that too. Mr Black is quite good, but I would definitely suggest tasting/reviewing a few others . . . . . Black Hjerte, Manly Spirits, Black Kite, St George, Flor de Cana, Jumping Goat, and my three favorites, Songbird, New Deal, and Koloa. . . . Especially Koloa (from Hawaii). Sensational!

I'll have to try that. My issue with coffee liquor coffee is when the best time to drink it. If I drink it during the afternoon or evening ill have trouble sleeping. But if I drink it in the morning I feel like an alcoholic

Every time I hear someone pronounce aluminum as aluminium, it makes me think of Eddy Izzard talking about how the British say herb instead of erb "because there's a fucking H in it." And my immediate thought was "and you also add letters like in aluminum."

I wonder how the martini would come out using a whipping dispenser charged with nitrous oxide....

I've been wanting a less sweet coffee liqueur (I know a defining trait of liqueurs is the ton of sugar, but you know what I mean 😅), I'm going to order a Mr Black next month I think! Kahlúa is like 39% sugar, vs the 25% of Mr Black. I suspect it'll make an absolute divine tiramisu....
And yes, oh man, I hate the confusion between liqueur and liquor - not necessarily if people just don't know the difference, we don't all learn everything at the same time, but when people try to correct me and are all obnoxious about it _and they're wrong_ ... Frustrating, for sure 😂

You've been subbed for 13 years. Surely by now you know I ALWAYS call out sponsored content right at the start. Always have done. LONG before it became standard practice for most (and legally required for most).

I've not tried this one yet. The Xpresso Meukow cognac is pretty nice, although cognac is my favourite spirit as my starting point.
PS. the septics are actually right on aluminium. We bastardised their spelling to try continue the old 'ium' convention that has since been abandoned for elements.

I tried this myself a couple of Years ago at a mate's place on NYE.
One sip of it nearly blew my head off as it was that strong. Very overpowering for my taste.
Might try some again if it presents itself, but I'm not actively purchasing it to be honest.

Well, it looks like I might get you a Boston shaker, as it's better then the shaker that you have.

  • @LemonSherbetCandy
    @LemonSherbetCandy Před 2 lety

Try getting a shaker glass instead of a normal shaker. It's fun to see what's going on inside the shaker too.
You've come a long way since not caring much for coffee a good few years ago Kek.

NOPE, Saw one of those EXPLODE on a bartender once, glass and cocktail and ice everywhere (she was okay, but... a bit shook upOOOHHHHHHHHHH) - but yeah, a "double tin" variation on the boston shaker is on my want list.
