  • Thailand's new king, 66, was crowned today at the auspicious time of 10.09am, as decided by court astrologers, in a ceremony at the Grand Palace in Bangkok. His fourth wife, Suthida - married in a surprise ceremony days before the coronation - was invested as Queen, kneeling in respect in front of her husband who sat on a throne. Today's sombre ceremony opened with the white-gowned King Maha Vajiralongkorn - the folds of his robe leaving one shoulder bared - receiving sacred water from across Thailand and dabbing it gently across his face at a shrine inside the Grand Palace complex (bottom centre). Pictured: bottom left, the royal guard marching outside the palace; bottom right, officers stand beneath a portrait of the new king.

The way THIS king treats his wives and children, may he faces retribution for not being a pure hearted human being

why does the face of Rama X look so unamused while doing a ritual to Phra Kaew Morakot, the buddha that protects thailand?
