    thanks a stack for the top tip Alec!! I've tried using heavy nylon to try keep the weight down, works well enough for me

    That's amazing Aldx , 👏 😍 thanks for sharing. It's outside the box but great. I'm already thinking of a fry pattern cast along the sides when they're bashing them. A twitch or 2 lying like that is home run.

    Ingenious Alec, many thanks. If this is half as good under the bung as your Bleeding buzzer I’ll be delighted 👍

    Alec done a similar balancing act some 20+ years ago. The fly was tied with a loop of nylon or braided backing in the middle of the dressing to which you attached your leader. Won me many competitions as no one had anything like it and presenting the fly in this way certainly caught more fish especially on those tough days' ATB

      Nice one , I hadn't seen it until I went to Canada years ago , but it sure present the fly much better and gets great results. 👍🎣🐟

    Hi Mr Alec Harvy, may I know how you used your feather, with the center stem or just the feather of the side ? Thanks for sharing like it, it make the flies swim more natural. Thanks.

      No problem , I use the side of the marabou feather not the tip section , it give more movement in the tail 👍🎣🐟

    Alex, thanks for sharing. the pins you’re using is it correct that they have around head and does the head of the pin fit in the wide side of the beach is that correct? Because there are so many different type of pins on the market let me know have a good Christmas, Gilbert

      Don't get too thin of a pin as it may bend if it's too far extended out the front of the fly 👍🎣🐟

    Alex forgot to ask this method you are showing is it only used for Jig hooks or can you use this also for the standard hooks? Thanks.

    • @alecharveyfishingandflytying
      @alecharveyfishingandflytying  Před 9 měsíci +1

      You can use both jig and standard hooks as long as you balance them , the jig hook will ride upwards and is less likely to catch things near the bottom of the lake , the round end of the pin can be used on either side of your bead , I tend to use the large end as it goes inside the bead .👍👍🐟
