- Looking at the best golf balls in the world, I try out three of the best unusual balls from Callaway, Srixon and Warehouse Golf and ask... why does nobody use these golf balls?

Srixon divide is awesome. I actually line the putts horizontally, as well as the tee shots. I like to see the end over end, like shooting a free throw, or throwing a 4 seam fastball. First time playing with this ball I had 12 putts on 9 holes!
I love those two-tone Srixon balls. I found one in some weeds a while back and tried it out. Loved it so much that I went out and bought a dozen right after that round. It looks awesome, feels good, and it's so much easier to line up putts using that ball, I personally like it way, way more than a Pro V1 or and Vice ball.
I like em too, but a yellow and blue ball gets lost in the green grass soo easy. Same for the yellow and red ball during the fall..i can't find em when I miss the fairway
Those balls are my favorite rn. Perfect price point vs quality for me.
Orange / yellow for me
im a little late to the party here but i like those new z star divide yellow/white ones
I have the Q Star Divide in my bag. I love the way the ball feels and the flight through the air looks amazing. PuttingâŠ. Itâs the best feeling ball I have ever putted with. Downside very hard to spot in roughy in winter golf with so many leaves on the ground so have gone to the plain White version for winter but do swap it out for the par 3âs lol.
Great camera work at the start Kieron! đ
I picked up a dozen of the Wheelhouse balls to try out. The black color seems like an interesting idea and I would love to give them a spin.
How Pete doesnt have a million subs yet is beyond me. In my opinion hes by far the best golf youtuber on the platform. Keep it up Pete!
Probably because Golf is a relatively small sport in comparison with other sports
My wife won a dozen callaway max at a golf tournament. She gave them to me and my son. I thought they where a gimmick not really impressed with them. However my son started telling me they putted better than a regular ball. He said they did not break as much, he is an excellent putter. I just thought he was on a hot streak giving to much credit to the ball. Then we started to play on some greens in poor condition aerated and sanded. I was really struggling, I noticed he was still on. He gave me one to try I did notice a hugh difference the size of the ball seems to help. I strarted compariing them the difference was quite noticable. It seems the sizes of the ball helps on poor greens or with alot of break. Try it you will be suprised..
Pete, you kept telling us how cool the wheelhouse looked in the air, then proceeded not to show us any footage of the ball in the air haha, great content as always
Yeah that was super annoying
in hopes that way we buy it fasterđđŒ đ
these are all plugs
everytime a youtube video is testin shit usually a plug(ad)
Great review. First time Iâve seen Wheelhouse and Max. Thanks for bringing them to everyoneâs attention.
just brought the divide balls..
love the idea of the alignment in the two different colours, and being able to see the ball flight and roll from this.. nice to see if you hit it straight..
down side is on the fairway when it sits at an angle.. (love the concept/idea of it even though ping had the idea first years ago)
I have used a matte black ball by volvik and found it very hard to see in the grass. It was also difficult to see leaving the tee box. I thought the concept seemed plausible until i actually tried it. It looks cool but it was not easy to see. Putting with it was cool though.
That Wheel House ball looks wild. I'd love to give that a go
Srixon, love them. I wouldn't mind trying those black ones though. Thanks Pete
As a visually impaired golfer, I have the Callaway Supersoft Magna yellow ball to be a game changer. Much easier to see, easier to launch and Easier to set up putts, but wit my putter you have to hit putts of over 10 ' a litter harder. I would like to try the Max, but unless they come to with a different colour,, I will have to stick with the Magna
great comparison test. main concern would be an approach shot with the line say at 45 deg to target. maybe a little confusing.
How would you draw a putting line on a black color ball?
Silver marker maybe, paint đ
If the tour wants to reign in long hitters the Max ball is the one direction they should consider. You can achieve a similar effect by making the ball lighter instead of larger which I think would be preferable. And for the average player the difference would be negligible or even beneficial. Air resistance is proportional to velocity ^2
Got my first ever hole in one the very first time I used a srixon divide. Also my putting has improved out of sight using it
I've played that Srixon ball and I love it. The problem is, I'm a 20 handicap and I lose 4 or 5 balls a round so it's an expensive ball for me to play. I play the Kirkland ball because they're cheap and I don't feel bad losing them, they feel ok and have enough distance.
Iâd love to try the srixon and the black one đ, especially the black one, looks cool đ
0:22 Instead of the stated circumference I imagine it is meant to be diameter?
A friend had the black one. If you miss fairway itâs close to impossibly to find. Itâs actually hard to find even if youâre in the fairway.
I'd like to see the Divide and Wheelhouse in a gloss finish. Not a fan of matte finishes.
Great video Pete đ
Thank you đ
Wheelhouse for me! Looks cool in the air! đ€đ»
MAYBE you could chat with Vice golf about a half-n-half cover ball?
For me I think the black ball would be great for the range. So often stand up there hitting driver but have no idea where itâs gone
I love the divide ball for putting. If Iâm not playing in a tournament I will often swap it out on the greens.
I got a hole in one with the Srixon divide, the Red/Yellow one. No problems there...đ My second one ever.
Pete instantly turns into a man from Birmingham when he misses a birdie putt hahahaha
been playing the Q stars divide for about 4-5 moths now been through all the colors , Red Yellow , Orange Yellow and Blue Yellow for some reason i prefer the Blue Yellow same ball i know , luv how the matt finish feels off the irons but just ok response with the driver ,, last few rounds went back to the all white Q star Tours and found them to be my favorite all around ball out of the series ,,
I've been using the divide for a few months now and absolutely love the look it has thought the air. Plus it just Performs very well!
Good to see another video from you Pete. Looks like some beautiful places you are playing and the one course w/ the Eagle shaped clubhouse...just wow...Cheers
Well Srixon Listened, and the new Z Star divides look SUPERB
Will the black ball heat up faster/ more from the black attracting light and go further?
Back in the 80s there was a ball that was half orange half yellow, a playing partner who was colour blind found one. He indicated that the issue he had was that he could only make out one side of the ball against the grass.
Recently(ish) tried the divide... Liked it up until I was on the green... really didn't like the way it felt off my putter face at all. I did wonder if it was the matte finish against the white hot insert, so I tried a handful of other matte finish balls and none felt the same as the divide. Will be giving it another chance just because they're different, but feel like it won't be one that stays in the bag for me.
Definitely intrigued by the Callaway max ball too... perhaps I'll buy a box and give them a rip next.
Try the new z star divide theyâre in some shops not online yet
Tried to find the wheelhouse golf ball here in states and havenât been able to. Peter do you think having the black ball will create a more concentrated swing because you have to keep it in the fairway.
Got hold of the volvik in black and yes it looks amazing in the air but just like you said I could not see it on the ground at all.
The srixon is just amazing to putt with, we just got a sleeve in the proshop to help with putter testing.
I once found a Callaway Max and played a couple of rounds with it (and then lost it in the woods). I think itâs quite nice to play with.
I donât think I will ever play with a black ball. It would be quite a problem to find it in the rough, especially at this time of the year with leaves everywhere.
A few weeks ago I won a sleeve of Big Green Egg golf balls. These balls areâŠ.yes, you guessed rightâŠ.green. You can only find them when you accidentally step on one đ
Out of these three I would definitely choose the Srixon. They seem easy to find and are great for lining up.
I played the black Vice and it is absolutely impossible to see in the rough and itâs even hard to see in the fairway
I would go for looks purely with the wheelhouse one. Love how you now hit driver of the deck...even on the course đ€
Great fun vid Pete đ€
I watch a ton of Finch and his personality in warm locations is so much lighter. Enjoy your vacation!
Vitamin D
I lose enough balls on my own, I donât need a black ball to help aid to me loosing more of them.
I do agree the Qstar Tour is a great ball, definitely the best of the âgimmickâ bunch Iâm sure.
I just played my last round in heavy heavy winds with a q star tour divide. That ball is brilliant everywhere
i was asking about black balls today, on a driving range in light fog and overcast skies, would have been very good
I've been using the Divide for a couple months now as well, and 100% agree, I would defo use it if it was a Z-Star as well. I was originally using the Volvik Vivid, and am a huge fan of the matte finish. When the Volviks got hard to get, I tried the Callaway Super Soft Matte, and Taylormade Soft Response, I get more consistent distance from the Divide, my swing speed is 106m/hr if that makes any difference.
I have been playing the divide this season primarily. It has helped during my putting practice sessions to make sure that I am putting a good stoke on my putts.
A pal of mine was given some of those black balls. He lost all 3 inside 2 holes, at least one of those definitely finished on the fairway. You can follow the flight in the sky but you can't see where they land. As soon as they drop below a background of trees or hills they just disappear, add a few leaves on the ground into the mix and you've got no chance.
The Divide is the best ball. It has fantastic feel off the driver and around the greens.
That wheelhouse ball looks great in the desert, but if that got played in a parkland course with trees all around thereâs no way you could see the ball down.
Men of culture, 0:43. Nice camera work, Kieron.
Q-star tour divide.
Would be very cool on a Z Star.
Tried the max awhile ago found it easier to hit nice soft feel but didnât seem to get the distance compared to other balls even on none windy days but i seemed to find more fairways and greens spin around the green was noticably less lot more roll out but overall not a bad ball. Gave some to my friends to try, a few now play the max they love it.
Definitely divide - but only the yellow / orange optionđȘđȘđȘ
So here in the states there's a golf brand by Maxfli, which is sorta owned by the golf store chain I work at. The maxfli tour balls have what they call a center of gravity alignment setup, where before stamping the ball with an alignment line, the ball is spun for about 30 seconds in a way where it's free to move. Apparently this means every ball will orient itself so that the alignment stamp will be over the balls' center of mass, so it will be perfectly balanced when the alignment is used. Does this actually lead to more straight and consistent putts?
Circumference is actually just over 5". The 1.7" is diameter.
I use the Callaway Max Ball and it wouldnt' go back. I hit the ball straighter, farther and i seem to get more stop on the green. I bought 2 cases of them a while back. They are the real deal.
"it looked like a lack of a ball rather than a ball" - sounds like me trying to find my ball as it is!đ
I've been playing the Srixon Divide all year. It's now the ball I play. Great ball, and... I CAN see it.
Iâve always thought you had the strangest balls in golf Pete
Love the content, hopefully another professional win soon. Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well
Peter doesnt celebrate Thanksgiving
@@clintonkildepsteen3982 what makes you say that
@@jonahpowell8169 its a north American celebration. Most the rest of the world don't celebrate it and Pete is British.
@@Gigity1107 thanks for the info
I tried a sleeve of those divides. They look cool and they're long and straight off the tee. But I cant shape shots or stop chips as easily as the Vice Pro Plus ball I typically play.
You can get Z star in divide now too
Hello Peter haven't watched the video yet but can tell it will be a great video!
Thanks John I agree
@@peterfinchgolf it was a great video honstley what did I expect they get better each time
Love the split ball, been using a lot this year! Find it helps with my putting alinement, but other than that just standard aha
The black ball 99 number is the sweater number of the Great one - Wayne Gretzky the greatest hockey player of all times
I'm trying to figure out what rollercoaster that is in the background... some kind of Mack hypercoaster?
I think you meant diameter of the callaway max ball
Iâm playing the Q-star Divide Red/yellow, Iâll be honest the performance is good and around the greens itâs great.
Great video Pete.
Iâve used the Callaway magna itâs a lot easier to hit đ but no distance đ
Love your energy! Great video
I use the supersoft max. I have a slow swing speed and it performs well for me. It gives me confidence.
Quick question. With the current rule of not being able to mark your ball the whole 360 on the ball why is it ok to have the srixon divide?
Now I have to look at a black Wheelhouse
I will stick with my chrome soft I reckon đ
Good vlog Peter with interesting results from all 3 ball types.
I'd pick the Supersoft MAX if I had to pick one of them to use.
The black one just looks weird to my eye and the Srixon Divide whilst may be ok for alignment on putting, it would baffle my brain when rolling plus it would not be aligned on the fairway.
Cheers
I play the QStar Tour's in white, and I really like it, especially for the price. For some reason the regular QStar's I did not like as much.
What is the difference?
@@biscuitboycj the Q Star Tour has a urethane cover but the regular Q Star does not
@@alexcheriel7306 I genuinely did not know that! Thanks for the reply!
I would love it if titleist would put the divide on the pro v
I really like the srixon z-stars, but i haven't gotten the chance to try the q-stars...
Just donât feel quite as long off the tee or as soft around the greens, still a good ball
@@peterfinchgolf yeah that's fair, I have had friends who have had similar experiences
we need to start a campaign to get the QStar divide in a matte black matte white color combo!
The Devide is the best overall ball out there Peter, period.. The black ball is a joke, mist of the time you can see it in the air (how you did us a mystery), and just try to find it the rough. Ofcourse it's cheap, so maybe golfers who go for the unusual won't care how many they lose. Like always, another informative vid from you, with the exception that you could actually see it's flight. Other CZcams golf professionals haven't in their reviews.
Can you do a test throwing all three into the deep rough, and finding out which will be the easiest to find...
I saw a similar vlog a little while ago and the black ball cannot be seen to land when it comes down by trees and when its in the rough it cannot be seen
i am using the Srixon Divide already 2 months and only yellow/orange or yellow/red but the yellow/blue is hard to find i rough when only blue side up. love the line when putting, but when on tee i need to set only to see one color. The line on the tee is misleading...
8:51 have you tested the z star divide though?
Srixon will be offering the Z Star in a Yellow and White divide soon.
The super soft is surprisingly good, granted on a nice summer day it wouldn't be my first choice however It's a great cold weather ball. The vast majority of amateurs should play this ball or the e12.
Is the Callaway Max the rebranded Magna ball?
That is the inherent problem with a black golf ball. You have to keep it in the fairway to be able to spot it properly.
I bought a round of golf at an auction came with to sleeves of black balls. I have used them around the chipping and putting green and they get a lot of comments. Practicing I would constantly find I only had 5 of the six balls and have to search for the sixth. Had similar experiences with the blue balls, hitting a beautiful shot on clear day and losing the ball in the sky. Ball quickly retired for practice only.
I would like to try the srxion for putting.
is nobody gonna point out how satisfying petes swing is?
Iâm not a mathematician, but donât you mean 1.73â diameter for the Max? Cool video, Pete!
Some supremely tight turf at 0:21 and 0:35 and 0:42 good sir.
Vice made a version of the black golf ball. Pirate theme or something like that. I have a few and they are SO hard to find outside of the fairway or green. Look really cool though in the air and on the green.
great video Pete how you finding the new grips ?
Divide z star golf ball would be awesome, & hopefully better durability. I like the orange yellow the best
The srixon divide concept is not new, ping had these ball back in 80s to help with putting.
Srixon divide is Qstar, =ad333, a great ball.
Srixon Z star!
Well done pete đ đ
