I really admire these wonderful preserved/heritage railways. These volunteers have saved so much of our railway history, and they continue to expand and reclaim old abandoned routes. Just look at the progress of the Great Central in the Midlands. There is something wonderfully British about the defiance and determination not to give in to those who long ago deemed that railways were a thing of the past. The late Sir John Betjeman, who died 40 years ago this weekend, would have marvelled at their achievements. Thanks for posting. Have a lovely Bank Holiday.
The volunteers are certainly the life blood of the heritage railways, and it's always heartbreaking to hear of mindless vandalism of anything these people spend their time and effort on,for years... cheers James 🙂👍
Bostin video Dawn my local haunt when i lived in UK was the Severn valley railway really miss that place
Thanks Keith - we're off to the Severn Valley Railway very soon. Can't wait!
It will be brilliant when it joins K&ESR
Dawn your everywhere nowadays even in my latest copy of the N Gauge Society Magazine! It's also great to hear about another heritage line in the making. But a McDonald's for Mr G, I don't think so however, there's some nice pubs/eateries in that part of the county.
Another enjoyable video report and pleased the sun shone for your two too.
Take care and when are you out and about again?
Thank you!
Excellent buffers
Love the update, it is a shame about what happened at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway
It is - very sad.
👍👍👍❤❤❤🚂🚂🚂
Tragic disaster at Bo'ness. Really sad.
My punt at the quiz questions is: Cromer.
Thanks for another top quality video.
Thank you - no, it’s not Cromer! 😊
@@modelrailwayquest Hmm. Really thought I'd nailed it this time 🤔
I think I now know the answer, but I've had my guess.
@@stephendavies6949 Email me Stephen and I'll tell you if you're right!
@@modelrailwayquest Done!
"Wot like a M'Donalds?" LOL! Almost split my difference....
Awesome Dawn I come from Kent Best Regards Andrew from now Down under :)
Hello from Kent!
I think Gandalf has visited that layout and turned all the 5mt locos literally into crabs!
I've seriously no idea. Never been to the Rother Valley or KESR even though I'm a kentish man! Greetings from Liverpool!
Nice to meet you!
Whitstable?? (although the loco on the layout doesn't look much like an R1 with a cut down cab!!)
Afraid not - but it is a very pretty place. :-)
Could the clue be something to do with the Crab and Winkle line?
If it is connecting to Tenterden, did it used to be known as the Kent and East Sussex Railway?
Yes.
@@kineticrail Thankyou
Was it matlock bath.??
No, sorry 😊
Think it might be Cromer ,Cromer crab🤔
Good guess - but no. 😊
That was my guess too...
