There are no words for how much I envy you two on your journeys thru gods county. I just hope you will be around for a long time, we need someone like you two to put a positive spin on our days....
That huge tree on the beach made me remember all of the repair jobs I did on boats that hit large unseen objects in the ocean.
Containers busted off of cargo ships, zillions of tons of tsunami debris, whales... you name it.
One boat had a timber blast through the port side and exit through the starboard side.
Huge power in the water.
After a cyclone one year - around 35 NM off shore, there was a tree about 8 mtrs (26 feet) in length floating on the surface, nothing really strange about that - but this tree was completely upside down, the root ball was at the surface and the green leafy side was 8 mtrs down. We came across it in early dawn, thanking our lucky stars that we didnt hit those very hard and sharp roots in the dark in our plywood hulled 45 foot boat.... Central Qld, early 80's.
@Leosarebetter - The ocean isn't empty and I don't like floating in it.
I'll take bears, wolverines and mountain lions any day of the week over floating off in a puddle.

You two gave me a little sniffle and a hiccup when Stick lifted Fran from the boat! It was such a beautiful moment! It. for me at least, it showed just everything good and right! Please never become complacent or take things for granted! Always a fan!

That kitchen @ the end with Fran cooking up the coral trout soup is where you should be doing all your cooking; a dinner free frm a coating of SAND!
Except they try to save fuel by cooking over a campfire most of the time

Seeing just how large the tiger shark was / is in comparison to the coral trout helped me realise there are no limits to what you may come across . Sorry to hear of your feeling ill . Your comment had me go on a bit of a mission and it seems they're one and the same as pūkeko _Porphyrio melanotus_ so thanks for that. My initial thought was also, that it was a pūkeko so love to learn new things like this. Maybe they are like the pavlova in that they've both become naturalised without any actual evidence as to where they originated from. (ducking for cover)

Absolutely love your videos! Teaching us USA landlocked folks about survival on the sea. Keep it going! Love the fact that you try to find new species, but will admit totally jealous of the same day caught fresh seafood! Love the recipe ideas as well- being a traveling businessman. You two are great! This seems to be the norm for the natural adventure genre--high resolution footage, aerial and underwater shots, 2 ppl, no post production suite-- and clearly the big money/big crew productions I grew up with on TV died years ago. Although the decentralisation of entertainment is not always positive, this is great, very engaging story and vision.
Australia is amazing. And I love the Australian accent

Wow, that’s definitely a lesson that you learned the difficult way. You need to rehydrate. I could see it… Comes from being a long distance runner and bicyclist. Hydrate and eat the green supplement you market so that you snap back quickly.

All your trees are looking amazing,white sapote’s are exceptional for time in the ground.I have Kampong and Lemon Gold but little fruit dropped off.Your Lemon guava fantastic, l love them chopped up with ice cream and yogurt, also mixed with strawberry guava and China pear guava. Yum.
