Personally, I've always felt the older Steigers were just really tough and cool looking tractors. The Steiger green is awesome too!! 👌🏻
Love the Steigers. To hear them under Load brings back memories of a farmer across the road from where i grew up having a 310 Steiger working ground. Love the sound of them.
The ST-310 is one of the all time greats.
Gorgeous looking tractor. So much cooler looking than when CIH painted them red. Also great to see a Steiger plow back there.
It's good to see Steiger Tractors Good machines grew up operating a lot of them. Just seeing Them brings back a lot of memories.
Steiger is my favorite brand. This SM is one of the rarest Steigers. I never thought I would see one.
Stieger is still being used in south africa on commercial farms .Still have my Cougar steiger with Allison semi auto gearbox .Just changed the cat 3306 precombustion engine with a cummins 400 .The tractor is fitted with a lift and still puls 12 tine ripper 700mm deep without any effort .Great tractors
I got to run a stiger growing up. I have always loved them!
Very cool.
More Steiger video. I like this video. I live in Illinois about 50 miles North and east of Bellevue Illinois.
Great video BTP!! I love those classic Steiger machines & what a rare tractor. It’s in awesome shape also. Take care & stay safe. Cheers
This was a neat filming opportunity. I hoped I might see one someday but it was not on my wish list to find because it’s so rare I thought it would be unlikely to find one. It was cool to film this one.
Seeing that type of green at work is very cool💪😁 steigers have an awesome sound😍👍
What a beaut!
Beautiful old tractor!
Great video Jason! Back when I was hauling feed for dairy cows. I delivered to a farm in Scipio New York that had 2 Steiger tractors and they would work them good when tilling!!!
New York is Steiger country. Batavia Tractor, Rochester Tractor, Auburn Tractor and Seneca Tractor sold a bunch of green 4wds. Batavia Tractor was the first Steiger dealer on the east coast in 1972. Batavia Tractor is a Monroe Tractor store today.
Hi Jason. Thnx for sharing coolest and rarest old machines like this Steiger tractor. I love seeing them in action btw. Keep up the good work my brother. 👍
Thank you for watching. The SM-325 was a neat fund especially with a matching Steiger coulter chisel.
brilliant video sir as ever !!! my uncles farm in about 1984/5 had one on the large estate farm ..didn't actually see it working but I've got a pic of it parked up ! what a beast !!
in the North of England UK 😊
That was the budget option then. ☺ It certainly looks cool, and sounds great
Thank you!
Thank you Mr for your videos
Sounds great!
A beautiful sight to see. I wasn't aware they used komatsu engines.
Thanks for sharing!
they was alot cheaper than a cat or Cummins motor
@@db-cd8hx copies usually are
@@robertayers9424 nobody wanted them no farmers knew anything about a kamatsou. Trust me 1984 you walk into a dealership and wanted that motor you got a steiger dirt cheap
@@db-cd8hx it was done to make Cat come down on the cost for a batch of engines. This comes from the market planning manager of Steiger at the time
I rode in that tractor with its owner at the show. Nice guy, sweet machine. Unfortunately the cost of said ride is now I have to help him find a trail-r disk😬
Spent a lot of time in a CP325 Panther, what a great tractor!
Very cool. Series IV are cool tractors.
@@bigtractorpower uhh Jason that’s a 1000 he’s talking about…but with a typo
Hello! Awesome Steiger with downsized alternative engine! Enough power with less fuel...
😁👍👍
@@bigtractorpower 👌
I follow Steiger *very* closely. Everyone that’s owned or ran an SM-325 absolutely adores them

Wish I could have got mine on here. Cousin still has the tiger 470
Very nice. Tigers are cool tractors.
awesome video, thanks for sharing!!!!!
Thank you for watching.
👌Very good video, thank you, again.
Thank you for watching. This was a neat tractor to get to feature.
Great video!
Thank you for watching.
The green steigers always looked like brutes in the field
Great video 👍🇹🇭
👋 hey 👋 from Dexter,Missouri.
Super awesome video.
😁👍👍
Cool video as we all like to see keep them coming ⚒️💪🍺🇺🇸🚜
Thank you for watching.
i saw an SM Steiger for sale in WI.
Very cool. Rare tractor.
Wow!
Thank you for watching.
Great looking machine. Unaware that Komatsu diesel engines were an option.
This is a cool odd ball. I never expected to find one to film.
They did it to get Cat to lower the prices of some engines according to Dan Hofland (market planning manager at the time)
I've never had a chance to see a steiger up close.... I bet they were power houses back in the day.. what's the minimum HP for that plow ? thx Jason!!
Depends on conditions but I’d say 250 horsepower and at least 22,000 pounds as a bare minimum, realistically 25-50 more horsepower and anywhere from 3-8,000 more pounds
@@nellsonstout7001 thx bud.... Just wondering... I have nothing close to that in HP anyway....
@@kygreenskeeper8326 most of the time I rode with Jake, it was pretty easy pulling, but we did find a hard spot briefly that slowed this old girl down pretty noticeably
@@nellsonstout7001 I wish Jason would have shown inside the cabin of that old more... I've lived on a farm my whole life and have 160 head of cattle. I've always been obsessed with tractor's.
@@kygreenskeeper8326 it’s a small cab for 2 people unfortunately. Trust me on that
👍👍
Thank you for watching.
very interesting video. it looks to me it was trying to wheel hop when it lowered the chisel plow. to much hp, or not enough weight
Probably a lack of traction. This field was like sand. It was plowed 6 times over the weekend.
@@bigtractorpower that makes sense. didn't think about that
Yes that was a neat tractor an no we don’t have any or have I driven any
Thank you for watching.
👏👏👌👌🚜🚜💪💪👍👍🇧🇷🇧🇷
Sounds great!
