I love it man. “Go all the way and embrace Christianity.” Amen and Amen.

Thanks, man. I almost edited that out as it was impromptu but decided to leave it. Appreciate your encouragement. 👊🏼

Absolutely - love this Mike. Where we focus our attention is what will 'grow.'

Man, your videos always fascinate me! I find it really amazing how you can speak a ton of truth in a simple way and in a relatively short video. Thanks, and keep going!
(And about you being a jerk in the comments: that video of yours about Zettelkasten you replied to helped me for the first time to understand and start an antinet, thanks again).

    Hi, middle and upper managers.
I've heard from the employees that want to work from home.
    Now it's your turn.
What do you think middle enterprise, and corporate environments can do to make their workplaces somewhere employees want to spend more time ?
Over the coming weeks, audit your thoughts, keep a list and review it.
See if it "broadens your understanding of your situation".
If necessary, pivot the way you "attend to" ideas around what spending time in the office means.
This won't necessarily entail converting to christianity.
I understand it's a turbulent time and you may be getting over some recent challenges, but if you want more of your employees to return to work, you've got to learn to re-engage in a new way.
Or maybe you're as happy with your employees working from home as they are ?
Remember, if you don't like your circumstances, you can change them.
You live in a free society, so speak up.
Hope to hear from you soon. Love you all.

Haha. Yeah, that Mike seems to really get it. Honestly, there’s a need for that exact conversation. If companies want their people back, what will they do to make work and their environments more human and more respectful of their people? And yeah, it may not necessarily entail converting to Christianity, but that would be better than some silly positive-thinking nonsense. Great comment. Thanks.

Hey Mike! As I was listening, it made me think about whether I am approaching a situation from the right perspective/lens. For example, if I am reacting to an unexpected problem that pops up, I tend to pause because my immediate response is most likely not correct response. Especially if I am emotionally charged. Do different situations require a look from different lens? Or is that where the team comes in? Or maybe the goal changes how I approach the situation? Just a thought! Thanks for the reflection time ❤️

Great questions. I agree that emotions, although good, can skew your reaction. For me, when confronting something unexpected, the challenge is to back up a bit and try to get better context before I react/respond/decide. Also, I need to make sure I’m giving people the benefit of the doubt. Sometime I’m guilty of misinterpreting intentions and that makes a mess. So, get as much context as I can and try to assume people mean the best. Of course, your question is pretty general, and I may be missing what you’re asking.

I need to work on bringing what I know that I should attend to, and what I do, into alignment. I had a friend at work who used to advocate some issues being treated like water off a duck's back - his nice way of signaling that I needed to set things aside. While I can move on with work, my mind can still be attending to problems that I haven't quite brought to a good conclusion. Any hints for ways to be more present?

I think to give a good answer, I'd need to ask more questions and get more context. Even so, one thing that comes to mind is that you might try setting specific time blocks. So, if you have something important, set a block of time, like 30 minutes. Just say, I'm going to focus on this for 30 minutes and then I'll go back to the other stuff. I set a timer and in fact did a vid on this very thing about two weeks ago. Your mind will appreciate knowing that you're not ignoring that other, unfinished stuff, but that you're only going to ignore it for 30 minutes. You're basically giving yourself permission to focus for a bit. What you might find is that as soon as you focus, you'll easily get lost in the important work and won't be so distracted ... and, you'll easily go more than 30 minutes, if you choose. Hope this helps!

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. -- Philipians 4:8
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. -- Romans 12:2
do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. -- Philipians 2:4
Even the Bible says to focus, or have attention, or good things.

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. -- Matthew 6:33; When we seek the Lord, good things shall come to us. For the Lord is love, and righteous, all He wants is goodness for us.

Also, Bob Proctor has some interesting explanations on the reason as to why attention on certain things helps getting them ( think like the person you want to become), even though he too is into viby stuff, which I absolutely hate because it gets the things from the wrong sources, the universe, or energy, which I, as a radical Christian, know to be demons, but that's another discussion, just be wary of the viby stuff. The point is, when filtering out this energy stuff, he still has some interesting explanations on it.

By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Work is marred by sin, but we need to seek and enjoy God's glory in it.

    • @MikeGastin
      @MikeGastin  Před 2 lety +4

I like the way you phrase it: Work is *marred* by sin. Meaning, work was fine until sin entered the picture. A lot of people, especially Christians, wrongly think that work is a result of sin. The truth is, God gave us work at the very beginning (subdue the earth) but we didn't need to work to eat ... until sin marred work. Thanks for the comment!
