James Bond 007 Timothy Dalton movie clip trailer 1987 Land Rover Defender SAS Gibraltar rock - Krátké a kreslené filmy
The way Dalton turns, hair in the wind, revealing him as 007 for the very first time, is an excellent shot.
I love this moment. Best indroduction for a new Bond actor.
Back then everyone at the movie theater would give it up for the new 007

I think Dalton was ahead of his time with his portrayal of Bond, therefore he was underappreciated. Such a shame he only made 2 films.
I thought he was a great Bond personallly.. He actually went and studied the character and brought out the dark side of the character..
He's the best Bond IMHO
@@shauntbarry and to this day Craig get's all the credit no doubt due to his first film being a reboot to help put Bond back in the spotlight of action film diehards with fewer gadgets, so unfair >...
I agree. A missed opportunity for Dalton. Pierce Brosnan was a wimpy, wishy-washy Bond. A BMW for a Bond Car!! What an outrage.
stuart sharman Whilst the Astin Martin ( sic ) is the classic Bond Car, I loved the BMW too. You have to remember that whatever Bond drives, it’s manufacturer is sponsoring the movie. They also make ones that they can destroy on set too.

Can we just appreciate the bond reveal shot here?
IMO one of the best in the series
This or OHMSS for me
@@leesaunders7232 Definitely. The way Dalton turns around before he rushes off to investigate the agent’s death was brilliantly done.
Yes it was good.
Yes, very good!
(4:05) Nice quote :) "Hold on ! You're dead !" :)
Dalton's "Bond, James Bond" line delivery was perfect...Believable. He's an agent, he's just escaped death, and he is clearly under stress...No time to pose for the camera or the girl..."Who are you?" "Bond, James Bond...exercise control, I'll report in an hour"...But then comes the "won't you join me?", and with a wry smile "Better make that's two". Dalton got the essence of the character from the get go, and his two movies are still the closest to the character of the novels.
THIS 100%
Cause like Daniel Craig he wasn’t wasting time fooling around with women
@@martinanaya388Not TOO much anyway…
@@martinanaya388Craig was a simp!
I’ve always found it funny how he says “Bond... James Bond”. He says it like he’s tired and has been through a lot of shit, which he has.
He says it so nonchalantly that it feels natural and not forced.
Like he's not grandstanding and theatrical.
He says it like Bond does in the books. Almost a bit cynical and world weary.
Mac n Cheese I didn’t ask for your middle name Bond Bond
But at the end, he gets a champagne flute.
Fun fact: the two other stuntmen who played the double-00's who get taken out before Timothy Dalton shows his face as Bond were chosen because of their resemblances to Sir Roger Moore and George Lazenby respectively.
holy crap they do! lol
They were actors not stuntmen, they didn't actually do the parachute jump from the aircraft. They were Glyn Baker and Frederick Warner (the guy whose rope was cut).
And them dying was symbolic to them not being Bond anymore.

Geoff Williams No, Your wrong there. He actually enjoyed making the Bond movies. Get your facts straight.

Kelso , what drugs are you on.
Dalton was very serious about trying to get back to Ian Fleming's original, harder edged Bond in his books. I think he succeeded. He's up there alongside Connery and Craig for me as the top Bonds ever.
Even the cigarette-smoking habit, which was totally ‘inappropriate’ for a ‘sophisticated’ man of action by the mid- to late-1980s, is curiously apposite with Dalton’s Bond. It’s as if Bond, as well as Dalton himself, still cling to this aspect of a bygone masculinity from at least two decades ago, and it sort of recalls the 50s ~ 60s, as well as being so ‘conservative 80s’, somehow . . .
Connery Moore and Brosnan for me
@@fletcherhamilton3177 which is why for me at least the modernisation of bond is not a good thing he was written as old enough to have participated in ww2 same as Ian Fleming in the royal naval intelligence division. He’s a man of his time a very flawed time but a time nonetheless and the things that don’t make sense to the modern world made sense back then
Dalton was terrific in this role, this is the best pre-titles sequence in Bond history
Did many of his own stunts too, that was really him on top of that Land Rover.
3:55 Man I LOVE this chase music!!
This is the most underrated Bond movie imo
The opening bars are imitating the Bond Song from this movie ("The Living Daylights" by A-ha) and then it combines the actual "Bond Theme" (by Monty Norman) over that beat.
The whole soundtrack is awesome. John Barry's last one for the Bond series.
The first half is good, the second half hasn't aged well, Bond teams up with the Taliban basically.....
Yes! Easily the best ever soundtrack for a Bond film. The subtleties of how the score matches what’s happening on screen: the sinister undertones when the traitor does his thing, the familiar theme tune blended with a broader orchestral sound, and the way it cranks up and moves into action mode as soon as Bond goes in pursuit … brilliant! 🙌😎
Mr Dalton was about 30 years too early. His Bond is the best. How bond should have been. Ruthless!
Fact is, that he was offered the role when Sean Connery stepped away from the franchise, but rejected it thinking that he was unfit to succeed the original. That was either the production of what should have been On Her Majesty's Secret Service or that of Live and Let Die. Which meant that he would overwrite the contributions of Roger Moore and even George Lazenby, and if he had continued, he might have overwritten Pierce Brosnan's as well.
I prefer the Classic Bonds of Connery Moore and Brosnan
@@kuronoch.1441 It was )HMSS, but he turned it down because he felt he was too young at the time. He was 40 when TLD was made.
This is the best bond reveal in the entire franchise
I have re-watched a few of the Bond movies now, and I have to say Dalton movies are a class of their own. His portrayal of Bond is simply magnificent. You truly get the feeling that Bond had training as an agent and/or in special warfare. The way he handles f.e. the sniper gun is amazing. The screenplays of both movies are terrific. And the crisp shots and images. As someone said: Dalton movies wear ahead of their time.
Yes, he was great. Though the light hearted end bit, where he drops in on the foreign lady on the yacht, reminds me how unlikely it would be that when asked his name a secret agent would give his real one without hesitation :) "The name's Bond, James Bo- on second thoughts love, forget that if you will. Could cause me a spot of bother."
@@danyoutube7491 that would have been a great line. true, but all of the bond movies have that problem. no secret agent would give out his real name, whereas all bonds in the movies do it constantly. the only true occassion where one doesnt is moore as john st.john-smyce in AVTK.

cracking shot of the three 00s gliding over Gibraltar
+El Indio with that soft, ominous John Barry track playing over it, yes. Always gets me too and when they're first soaring over the expanse of Gibraltar before releasing their shutes, too
@@hugodrax71 I think this is the best skydiving scene in any of the Bond films. Moonraker had way more action in the skydiving, and TSWLM had the iconic skiing off mountain, but I still prefer this one. So graceful. Love how one of the 00s turns upside down after exiting the plane. And the shot of them all swooping down over Gibraltar reminds me of the old Superman flying scenes.
Fun fact. The imposter was played by british actor Carl Rigg At the time, Rigg was out of work and staying home, taking care of his baby, while his wife was away on business. Upon getting the call, Rigg left the baby with a neighbor, left his wife a note telling her he'd gone to be in a James Bond film, and caught the next plane to Gibraltar to start filming
Nothing like Bond in combat gear! I love this look. Same with Goldeneye's opening sequence!
6:24 Dalton’s hair. That gives him the Ian Fleming Bond look.
That's y he's better than Daniel Craig. But the world is blind to see that
I’m glad that I was born in 1987 Dalton is and always will be my Bond
I was born in 89 and I say the exact same because licence to kill came out the same year
We were supposed to get Dalton as soon as For Your Eyes Only (he was apparently even considered for OHMSS) and he was contracted to do Goldeneye but left due to a timing clause in his contract since Goldeneye took a long time to get production started. I can only imagine what a run that could have been. Dalton was the best.
He was considered for OHMSS, but he turned it down, saying he was too young at the time. He was 40 when TLD was made. I think he made the right choice. You can tell this 007 had experience in the field, and not a newly promoted 00 agent.
I think he should've started at AVTAK
I think when considering casting bond for Octopussy and future bond films, it was Pierce Brosnan who considered to be Moore's replacement but couldn't because he couldn't clear his contract for Remington Steele. But as fate goes, so does destiny. I love all bonds except for Daniel Craig. Sorry...he aint no Jason Bourne.
@StillTheVoid cubbys wife made a remark about Brosnan being a future Bond when they filmed FYEO, because his then wife played the countess. They did approach Dalton for that, but he turned it down at the time for what I believe is scheduling conflicts. He may have been approached again for octopussy, which never came into fruition. He was first approached for TLD, but turned it down initially. That's when they went with Brosnan before he was forced to turn it down
The Living Daylights is hella underrated, it's easily one of the best Bond films. Pure Cold War spy adventure, brilliant. Dalton forever!
Possibly the best Bond intro. Just enough suave humor at the end.
Best Bond intro ever. Brings back great childhood memories of the days before cinema multiplexes and the cinema had actual curtains that would open and close during the performance. I refer to the old Odeon in Preston town centre, which sadly closed and has been left derelict for many years. Such a shame!
Adrian Barnes did they have popcorn machine?
3:56 absolute banger. This soundtrack is by far best in franchise history. IDGAF what anyone says.
I agree, man
Well I say you're completely correct. Love this soundtrack.
Agreed. I find something to love in every movie's soundtrack, but this one is badass!
It's a great score but not the best.
Best bond film ever done Tim Dalton did a 👍 great job as 007
Acting at its finest with minimum CGI.
6:10 007: I won't kill you.
[Smashes window.]
007: But I don't have to save you.

"You noticed?" ;)
Uh... Yeah, Most of these people had noticed about that scene. Like around at 6:26, the explosion of a flying car from the 1987 James Bond film called The Living Daylights where the bad guy gets killed as possible. Which it reminds me of Ra’s Al Ghul’s death from Batman Begins, Like the one where he got killed from a train explosion that was located in the parking garage as well. Don’t you get it?
6:26 AAAAAAUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!- BOOM
Everyone talks about how great this scene is and how great Timothy Dalton is as James Bond but nobody seems to be talking about the fact that M literally just took his office with him on a plane!
It’s kind of a running gag throughout the series that wherever M and Moneypenny go, they take the office with them. You Only Live Twice and The Spy Who Loved Me being the most memorable examples, though I’m positively sure there are others.
I've read where Dalton would read the books on the set to make his performance more like the ones in the book.
Dalton was my first bond ever, and License to kill my first movie.
Now that is one hell of a movie to watch when you are a child XD
This movie made many developers create such scenes and music in games. Especislly the cargo air scene..which was implemented in Uncharted 3.

This was my first bond film, a view to a kill came out a few months before I was born
Just watched this film last night again. By far my favourite Bond film. Timothy Dalton was such a good Bond, wish he stayed on to do more although I can understand his reasons.
Timothy Dalton was a great bond
With what I saw in the intor . Dalton bright out the true James Bond character according to the books . An act that Daniel Craig later portrayed. It's saddening that Dalton wasn't appreciated for such a feat knowing fully well that he took the risk.
Such a brilliant Bond, probably my favourite
One of the best opening shot in any bond movie.
Dalton had the part nailed from the word go.
I always found Timothy Dalton Jame's Bond to be serious stuff, and a believable top agent. Good solid plots. Some intense action sequences, such as this one with an assassin who had infiltrated the training operation to go on a killing spree + that action sequence with the foreign top agent who went, dressed as a milk-man initially, to recover the man the British were holding. That was smooth.
Timothy Dalton is more serious than Roger Moore.
My favorite Bond in my favorite Bond movie. I love also that the two agents with Bond in the exercise bear a similar resemblance to Roger Moore and George Lazenby. This was before IMDb and the internet so the audience who weren’t familiar with Lion in Winter or Timothy Dalton’s other excellent work could have been in suspense as to who was Bond until that dramatic zoom in.
Like a boss at the end. "Better make that two."
My favorite for last 32 years

Man.....So underrated
Timothy Dalton was the "Daniel Craig" version of James Bond BEFORE the actual Daniel Craig. He was serious and gritty and that wasn't the character in the 1980s. Dalton's Bond was 20 years too early.
Nonsense. Daniel Craig is crap.
A-HA made one of the best Bond theme song

Excellent pretitle sequence. The perfect intro for the new Bond(circa 1987). It shows how Dalton's Bond would be dangerous and deadly. As fun as the Moore Bond era was, the series definitely needed to head into a new direction at this point. Just compare this pretitle sequence with the one for its immediate predecessor(AVTAK) and you'll see what I mean.
I've just watched the predecessor opening sequence... totally agree man. That was turd compared to Dalton's entrance.
I'm old enough to have seen this in the theater when it came out, and having grown up on Moore's Bond, I can't even express how this blew my mind. THIS was what 007 could be, needed to be. This scene cemented Dalton as THE 007 in my mind, and even decades later, my opinion has not changed.
I luv how he’s always getting his knob off, classic bond….
Dalton was the best bond in my view - mysterious, sophisticated, brooding, serious, with just a slight wittiness. Perfect mix.
For Me The Best Sequence Opening Bond Movies!!!
Dalton is one of the purest Bonds of the series
Timothy Dalton best Bond definitely, too good of an actor 👏

Amazing scenes for a James Bond movie during the Cold War era, awesome soundtrack too, Dalton should have done more Bond movies
Dalton brought the serious and cold hearted killer Bond after good knows how long.
(At that time)
So basically a training exercise that went wrong. With one Guy killing a 00 agent and another 2 guards before James Bond is revealed and chases after the bad guy only to find a dead guard and then eventually blow up the land rover.
