"Letting it marinate" is so true! One day I can't get the dance down and the next day I suddenly get it.
Fr fr i thought i was the only one😂
same
fr fax
It's true for me too
Facts!!!!
The point you mentioned about not comparing yourself to others is so important! I've been in dance classes ever since I was three years old (I'm 16 now) while I was also a competitive Hip-Hop & commercial dancer. I used to always be placed in the back of formations since I was one of the weakest dancers in my class. This caused me to keep comparing myself to others and even though I practiced a lot, I just wouldn't see any improvement. My goal was never to have fun and to be confident in my skills, it was to reach the skill level everyone else was on (a very bad approach). However, as time went by, I stopped caring about others and started dancing for me. This not only made me realize why I love dance, but it also made me improve significantly! I can finally have fun and feel confident while dancing. I was even chosen to join a competitive K-pop dance team! This just proves that having the right mindset really is the key to progress
Wow I've never been to dance class but I love dancing
Can you teach me what you've learned 🥺
@@Mafi_acosta ok thanks 😘
Notes for self
Tips for learning:
#1. Watch video as much as possible day before
#2. Chunk it- by parts of song or body parts
#3. Let it marinate! Sleep on it
For improving:
#1. Record yourself! (This is so freaking relatable. Sometimes I think I’m killing it & the video doesn’t look great 😭)
#2-3. Compare to the dance vid but don’t let urself be discouraged.
#4. Strength & flexibility training (oof 😅)
#5. Learn and brush up on some fundamental dance steps (like take a hip hop fundamental or free vids like steezy) (maybe do a hip hop warm up before dancing)
#6. Find people who motivate you!
sleeping on a dance is kinda miraculous. I always find out that move i tried 100 times yesterday and couldn't do at a right speed just seems easy and natural the next day! I think our brain proccesses it during the night.
The science behind "let it marinate" is similar to why studying is more efficient after a good night's sleep, basically your mind rehearses during the deepest state of the sleep cycle REM, and studies have shown the activation in the brain is on par with those actually doing the practice whilst awake!
I started learning kpop dance as a 28 year old man about a month ago. Thank you for all your tutorials which gives me more confidence in doing something I never thought I'd ever be able to do! You are awesome and keep up the amazing content as my go to teacher!
Thank you for commenting! I thought I was the only 28 year old here for some reason. Glad I’m not alone. I would love to see older people start dancing to K-pop too!
Im 24 and just started better than never proud I find more ppl like this don’t give up 💖
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH💗💗 I always struggle alot with kpop dances because I'm so stiff but I will make sure to use these tips!! 💗
yeayy I hope for the best for your dance journey!❤️
I personally learn a dance that is way above my level and brush up on it every few months because i can really see the improvement in how i analyze the dance and how my energy, stage presence and details change.
Thank you so much for your tips! I'm dancing to kpop since December last year. I beginned with shut down by blackpink and I was very surprised that it worked well with the moves. Then in beginning of june i discovered stray kids! I tried learning s class and the footwork was really hard because I've nerver had that much footwork. It took me 2 weeks to get the s class chorus done. Ever since I've danced every day and im currently on my 128th day streak of dancing to kpop every day😂❤. I can already dance to so many songs for example: shut down, Cheshire, s class, killing me good, i love my body, super shy, and way more. Sadly none of my friends are really interested in kpop or dancing so I'm going my own way with that. Some tutorials really help me get the details right (like you with 3d :) ). I'm also very excited for Stray kids comeback soon since im a stay :] I'm improving every single day and I'm so happy about it! Again i want to thank you for the advice and for helping me improve my dance even more❤! I hope you have a great day and keep dancing😊
Keep going
@@iamlali thank you so much I will!🫶🏻
@@andreassteingauer2049 hey can we talk more about dance?
@@iamlali sure! Do you have any questions or so?
Wow I will love to join you. can we be learning together though I'm just starting this week
Crying with no mirror and no pc

Oh-
FRESH FUJI CONTENT :O
OML what r u doing here?!?
HOW IS THERE ONLY 1 COMMENT!!!!
ive been dancing for almost 2 years and a couple of days ago i found old videos of me dancing and it showed how much i improved i thought i hadn’t improved but then i saw those old videos and they motivated me so much
Letting it marinate is the truest thing I have ever heard about dancing. I've been dancing since I was a child and there has been a lot of times that I couldn't be able to hit certain beats or do some steps perfectly and I would just let it go for some hours even though I was frustrated and when I went back to it suddenly I would have the steps all figured out! Taking your time is really a crucial part of it.
thank you, this motivates me to go on, I've never been a natural dancer, so it's really hard, especially since I'm 36 and not exactly in shape, but I do want to get better at it. It's fun and something I admire!
Please Fuji do more videos like this one.
Also if it's available would you make videos about editing your dance covers, applications you use and how you set your camera, all these details.
ooo yes I will definitely be making more videos! thank you for your suggestion!
Recording yourself is so helpful because you can see whether you get the steps right and etc, i recorder myself i and i realised i wasnt so good at dancing as i thought i was but im gonna keep practicing! 💓💓
this was a very good video. i have no experience in dance whatsoever, im so stiff but i hope id be better in the years coming.
hello! I'm from Brazil, I'm 16 years old and I'm going to make your channel my home. I started dancing just 3 months ago, and your tutorials are saving my life. I'm working hard to be good in the future. It's been very difficult because I've never danced before, so seeing how disordered I can be affects me a lot. I also blame myself a little for not having started learning sooner, but I'm working to improve that. I also love this video format, your tips are great and I will definitely follow them. Make more tutorials and give us more tips! You are very sweet and charismatic. I don't usually comment on YT videos, but you were very inspiring. Thank youu.
Another Brazilian here :)
Thank you for these tips ❤❤ I always wanted to improve my dancing but I still don’t know which dance type suits me!
Love you❤ and your videos❤
trial and error is honestly the best for finding your dance style🤍
I'm a huge fan, I love your videos. You really helped me. I recently started doing choreography. Thank you so much 🖤💜
I've been dancing for a lot of years I'm 15 but when i want to learn more i always watch ur videos they always help me thank you so much i love uu:)💕
Im glad I can help! love u tooo
Girl these tips are AMAZING! These tips will help a lot of people that are starting out. These are also very important facts like letting the dance marinate, not comparing yourself to other people, and getting feedback from others. Wishing for more people to see this! (YOU'RE SUCH A GOOD DANCER BY THE WAY OMGGGGG)
Thank you very much not only for this video. I just got into kpop about one and a half weeks ago and got into dancing just 6 days ago. I struggle with adhd which makes me get hyperfixated quite quickly but I also stop doing things as quickly. I am using your tutorial for my first dance. I never danced before and i am struggling with a lot of moves but I am improving. My flat mates also joined the dancing so now we are having a dance lesson every evening with your tutorial to 3D! Looking forward to more tutorials and learning new dances. Let's hope this will not be a hyperfixation but a new hobby that i'll do consistently. Thank you!
I think that's the video i needed to watch and words needed to hear. Thank you. You're such a shiny person 🖤
it's really helpful & comforting to hear you describe learning routines in terms of days and not hours/minutes. i always get frustrated when i go through one tutorial and don't have it by the end, and i end up thinking i must just be awful at learning to dance. it helps to be reminded that it takes time for everyone, not just me. thank you
YOURE THE BEST ❤
Absolutely loved your video!! I'll be there for your next tip video!!❤❤❤
すっごく分かりやすかったです!🤍 My sister and I are preparing for a kpop competition, and these tips were definitely helpful!!! ありがとう🥰これからも頑張ってください!

Thank you for your super clear and amazing tips! I would love tips on growing confidence and not being afraid to practice dancing in front of others, esp family 😅

Thank you so much, thanks to you my dance performance gets better everytime 💕😊
You're always going to be the greatest & bestest one for me to look up to cuz I love you so very much 💐
Thank you so much, it really helped me. You are great, darling!💕
Thanks a lot for the tips! I've been practice dancing since January this year. I also did dance last year but I wasn't really serious about it. These tips definitely help me out because I have a cover channel. I learned full dances of Antifragile, Queencard, Lion, Pink Venom, Shut Down. But I didn't let it marinate and did in a rush, so the covers are really bad. But now I can do it really good. I'll keep these in mind next time!
Thanks for your tips!! They're soo true and useful sis ❤
Youre so pretty omg 🙏💗
and thanks so much for the tipsss
It really helps to just sleep and focus on it the next day. Thx for these tips
Hey, thank you very much for the tips, I started dancing last year but I feel like I've improved a lot, I'm going to keep training until I really get good❤❤
Thank you for making this video! Your suggestions sound like good advice. I'm really glad you talked about options for people without mirrors or who can't go to a dance class for example.
I'm also grateful you took the time to address the psychological aspect of learning to dance regarding self-esteem, comparison to people who do this for a living, and frustration at perceived non-improvement.
Just saw an amazing interview of NBA superstar Nikola Jokić by his teammate, Michael Porter Junior. He and their 2023 NBA Championship-winning team share the philosophy "habits, not goals."
This means not to set a goal thinking achieving it is the only way to be happy.
Rather, start making and consistently doing the good habits that will help one to build the process of becoming skilled enough to finish completing the task.
And to ENJOY THE JOURNEY is one of the most important things, as you pointed out.
Setbacks or failures can become valuable learning experiences, a chance to reassess the endpoint, and perhaps make necessary changes to one's habits to achieve it.
I've discovered that when there is a problem, one can choose how to react: is it a burden? Or is it a challenge? The difference in mindset is astonishing!
Thank you very much for the video! Happy new year!🙏🎶💃🕺🪩🎉🥂✨
PS. The Nikola Jokić interview is on the CZcams channel "Curious Mike".
Best trainer ever
thank you so much for this video!
you really help me a lot and specially when you said DONT COMPARE YOURSELF and i was really confuse about my moves you motivated me and correct my mistakes thanku sister ☺☺ thanku so much
All thanks to you I became so much better at dance with all those tips you shared with us ❤😊
Thank you for this video! I will try the 3-day method that you referenced - learning the point choreo shown in the MV on the first day, and then moving on performance and dance practice versions the following days.
And thanks for the last tip: 'I am the dancer I am covering!!'
You are really perfecttttt thank you for this perfect video

Thank you❤ fuji
Thank you fuji for this tips❤..
Great video, Fuji! I love your Videos. The tips are super helpful. Could you make more videos like this? Also, do you use counts? I struggle with them, so if you have any tips or explanations, that would be really nice! Many say that knowing counts is important to be a good dancer. True?
As for myself, I sometimes feel that I dance too powerfully or it gets a bit messy. I'm not sure how to fix that. Any advice would be appreciated.
By the way, I really love your profile picture! 💃👍
Your video motivated me more😭
