Hi guys! It's been a while! Today I want to share with you my tips on how you can understand the counts to any Kpop song like a pro! Learning the counts to a dance is very important, because not only does it help you be more on time, you will also learn the dance so much faster!
In this video, I will first explain what counts are and why they are important, then do a thorough breakdown of the 8-count, and finally, I will go through several examples so you can practice counting with me.

I'm not sure I understood the question right but when there is clearly one move on each count you don't have to put the 'and' but when there are several moves between the counts you can add 'and'.. if that makes sense ^^'
@@laurelynltrt4881 so is the "and" sort of optional? can you dance without counting like that or is it rather impossible? bc it only confuses me. maybe its just a personal preference but idrk. thanks for answering though!

Thank you for the helpful video! My question is, how do you know where the “1” starts? I get tripped up trying to find the “correct” start of the count. Is there a definite correct start or does it depend on each dancer?
I’m not a professional dancer but I start at the very beginning of the song/dance at count “1”. Then I count the entire thing and mark the parts by sectioning. That way, you’d know when the chorus starts or the dance break for example at all times relative to the whole song/dance :)
Start when the beat drops. The song in the beginning might have some music that is unrelated to the beat. If you hear drums or any other percussion sound, start counting then. Also try to listen to the song many times before trying to count. Prefer songs that you already know very well and if they're new, get familiar first and then start counting (not a professional, just from my personal experience)

Weird question but how do idols count and sing I tried it and i cant do it
cause they learn the dance & count first while practicing the song then once they are completely familiar with the choreo they don't need to count
So the counts help you to follow the rythm but if you know to follow the rythm do you still need them?
