- The Summer Games Fest team invited me to attend the “PlayDays” event, where I got to try a bunch of cool games, but more importantly, Naruto Storm Connections.
3 new characters were also announced (Boruto Karma, Kawaki and Jigen) but I do wanna focus on the game’s mechanics, the systems and the big question, how different is this game from Naruto Storm 4, because going into this, that was my biggest question.

Glad it'll have a bit of a different feel from Storm 4. I'm glad I can go between the two for slightly different experiences.
That's so cool paying a full $70 to play a game with a SLIGHTLY different feel than storm 4 despite being a totally new game. That's awesome, totally worth the money.

imo this sounds like the game devs had no clue or gave no fucks about game balance post game release until someone irl tell them
They would sometimes pop into his streams already so he knew before but it definitely has to be a nice feeling hearing it directly from their mouth in person
It’s actually not good for quality Storm players. He doesn’t understand the game very well and the devs think what he says is good. Globku has pretty much tried to ruin and slow down storm because of his own lack of abilities. If they listen to what he says and implement anything, like removing subs (which globku wants), it’ll have a negative impact on the game.
@@M40A3TibbyThis game can't be competitive and casual, otherwise no side is happy. The substitution has always been very powerful and then the game just revolves around who uses them up first which is boring for both competitive and casual in my opinion.
Besides, I'm sure they had input from multiple content creators.

I also respectfully disagree with your statement about subs. If you run out of subs, you have options still. In fact, running out of chakra is a lot worse than no subs. You are still free to play as aggressive as you like without subs, you just don’t have a safely to relay on. You’ll have to actually use your skill, see your opportunities to abuse your hit priorities, play range, counter, switch or even COUNTER SWITCH.
Props to Globku for actually taking the game serious with his analysis and not disregarding it like so many others.
Bro it’s storm 4 with slightly different tweaks and DLC fighters. They should’ve taken a completely different turn with the storm franchise, like maybe a 3D fighter like Tekken or a traditional MVC or Fighterz feel. That way it keeps those beloved support characters that Storm has always had, but that’s not what’s happening. So why would u take Storm 4.5 seriously? But that’s just my take on it. But if you’re looking forward to paying $70 for a “slightly different feel” and DLC characters more power to you.

I’m happy to hear that they actually cared about what you had to say. Hopefully they continue to take your feedback into consideration while they wrap up development. I’d love for it to have some competitive polish like demon slayer, but also be unique enough to have its own identity still

Thank you Globku this is one of the big things I wanted to hear about this games besides what the story mode and everything is. This is actually a pretty big shake-up to the meta. I'm now really excited to play this game and we've got brand new characters to man is going to be fun!
Thanks for the info. It's nice to hear there are more changes than I expected. Although I don't know how to feel about tilt turning into ninjutsu 2. I think it would be good if it were also customizable, but I guess that would only be for characters who have had different tilts like Naruto, Sasuke or Kakashi.
Hopefully they decide to update the older characters movesets so they could feel like they’re built different as well
Especially the criminally underwhelming ones (Jiraiya, Tsunade, KUSHINA, etc)

Since everyone has two Justus they must be adding a new Jutsu or adding or adjusting the tilt as a Jutsu for everyone too. that's the only minimum change I see for every character

nah, we still will have orochimaru and tsunade with the most lame movesets on the whole game, not even an unique awekening, not yin seal, no serpent with 8 heads
Wow you remembered a lot from your short time playing the game that was an awesome breakdown. One thing crazy to me is that they're adding a simple control scheme. This game is already so easy to play. Like the new "simple" chakra dash sounds like it has the same amount of inputs as the original which is only 2 haha
I think Chakra Shuriken being gone is pretty unfortunate for characters who had really unique ones such as Majestic Attire Kurama, Deidara or Kaguya. I hope these moves are somehow gonna be added to their moveset in some form...
Chakra Shuriken was not balanced at all, lol. Some characters are annoying because of it, and some can't do anything with it.
I agree. For ranged character they are an important part of their moveset

Don't be overhyped cuz at the moment as awakenings they have (boruto and kawaki) only the first phase of the karma so ther's a high probability that the second phase of the karma won't be available for both of them in this chapter

I'm glad they actually listened to the feedback you gave. Would be awesome to play another Naruto game, feels like forever since we've had one. Hopefully they eventually give us a ton of characters for the game, that we've never had before.

Telling them the glitches is just a net positive, even if they remove them, then that means they just didn't like the idea, but at least they listened and learned. And if they do like the glitch, they might polish, and overall thats a good thing.

Anyone else notice that the devs lowkey took inspiration from the Isshiki mod for Jigen's ultimate?
This definitely shaping up to be a fast paced and a very aggressive game.
I just hope they add the ability to start off as a transformation in offline modes. It was a feature before in the series, and it definitely needs to come back. Especially since the ai often refuses to transform, robbing me of the ability to recreate things like tails chakra Naruto vs curse mark Sasuke, or tailed beast fights, stuff like that is such a major part of the fun. That needs to be there.
I can't believe it. For the first time ever I completely agree with everything Globku said in a video.
These changes sound amazing (minus counterattack) I think the new chakra system will encourage longer combos without chakra to try and let it regenerate so your combo can last as long as possible. My only concern would be if the new characters are gonna be this strong I'm hoping older characters get some balance to compensate

It sounds like theyre pushing for a more aggressive version of storm with connections. Cus you mentioned two jutsus and the chakra bar refilling over time.
It seems like theyre wanting to give you options to attack and with the new counter, make it so that you feel safer when doing so.
Yep, I hope they add exhaustion for when your character charka bar hits empty. Meaning your character has to take a free combo for spamming charka moves
@@tellyg47 thats a horrible idea by your logic if you run out of charka you just stand still and take unnecessary damage when you can literally still walk and air dash with little to low chakra in storm 4 hell no.
@@raphbolt7715 this isn’t storm 4 though. It’s a great ideal to punish spammers, you would be stunned locked like and punished. The game gonna be bad when people spam moves and there isn’t a punish system
@@tellyg47 You are already punished for using up all your chakra. The punishment is you have no resources. You're already at a disadvantage, you dont need an "you lose" mechanic on top of that.

Seems so dope ! Maybe I'm greedy but I hope there will be more playable characters, at least Shikadai, Inojin, Chocho, Iwabee, Metal, Denki, Wasabi, Namida, Sumire, Moegi and Udon
Since connections is going to cover storm 1 again in a way I hope they bring back curse mark sasuke and the nine tails Naruto and maybe even more awakening forms as the base character like 8 gates guy and 8 gates kid lee since they did have really cool ultimates . Plus it wouldn’t be any different from what storm 4 did since they gave people awakenings then made the awakenings playable so we can see their ultimates without them being broken

About second jutsu.
I get that it exist to technically "replace" the tilts, but can I choose another jutsu instead?
It won't change Pain or Adult Sasuke, which would always have Sninra Tensei.
But imagining Rinne Sasuke with Inferno Fireball and Onix Chidori makes me scream from horror.
Or like, Kakashi with 2 thousand jutsu and you need to guess every time which variation of moves they took.
I miss the combat types from storm 3 and I liked how when neji was in awakening his attacks would actually eat your chakra bar cant remember if kisame did the same

do you understand how resource-intensive it would be to make *hundreds* of new jutsus for all the old characters? games don't have infinite time or budget, if they were to do that like half of the characters they are adding would have to be cut instead.

Same. Multiple jutsus and combos is the reason I liked ultimate ninja over storm so it's dope they are adding this in. This can make less played characters more flexible.

@@HDGaminTutorials not all of them are. Some characters got completely new moves. Also there is a select jutsu menu after picking your characters so who knows how many they have.
I feel like as an arena fighter the controls were already super simple, I really don't like that we're now getting an extra even more simple control scheme. Just not a fan personally. I also like the idea of characters getting 2 jutsu but did we have to remove 2 options just for that? No tilts and no chakra shuriken, seems like more removal than addition
Completely agree they are taking away options in fights now every character is just going to be boring and the same
Let's be real, tilts were wildly inconsistent and you don't see anyone press the shuriken button at a casual level.
Really glad to hear about the 2nd Jutsu. I always hated being limited to one. Obviously it only means so much for most of the cast, the older characters, but looking forward to new characters its a great idea. Enhanced ninja tools were also stupid and a waste. Never liked the tilt motion much anyway.

Does it mean we can now change both 2 ninjutsus during the character select screen? For example, Sasuke (The Last) has 'Almighty Push' as his tilt skill and has 2 'Chidori's (default and 'Onyx') + 'Fireball' and 2 'Inferno Style' jutsus. Does it mean that we could theoretically have both 'Onyx Chidori' and 'Inferno Style: Flame Control' equipped???

But there IS a new mechanic! The ability to hit anyone on the ground with any thing, giving them no time to do anything other than get their ass beat once their subs are gone. Hell, I forsee a dozen instances where the player who loses all their subs loses the game immediately.
1:24 they don’t have to do anything crazy bc they know we’ll still buy this regardless even if they barely change anything. that’s been the history with bandai anime games

8:26 I feel like this segment isn’t getting much love. Thank you Globku, this part gave me PTSD as to why I stopped playing online on all their games. So many people cheese and abuse the system and fights be extremely unfair no matter how skilled you are. I used to constantly play against people that would do all of that in the same match. There’s no point in buying this game if all those problems you listed don’t get fixed. The cheese abusers will come back and the game will be extremely unbalanced, unplayable and un-winnable unless the player learns cheese tech too which is a drag..
Skill issue??? Simple solution get better and stop whining your not helping yourself either you adapt or give up make your choice.

I don’t know what to think about it after you told us about some of the changes. They are certainly different, but is it for better or for worse? I guess I’ll see when it comes out, since I guess there won’t be a demo, because the game is coming soon.

I hated that Storm 4 was like Dark stalkers 3 and Skullgirls. Like how both health bars don’t reset after a round is over.😞

Cool features although chakra kunai will be missed I think it did matter to a very small extent if you liked using Tayuya or Hozuki who have different throwing items when you add chakra to their throw move. As well having two jutsus is cool I always missed this feature as when I was a kid I played a lot of Naruto Ultimate series which had 2 Justus from ps2 to psp era.
To sum up the new things in storm connection, every thing is free now : chakra, counter, guard break... oh and the tilt became a jutsu to replace chakra kunai too.
Glad that’s switch tech is still in the game and combos for new characters look flashy, with a lot of freedom in terms of picking up your opponent.
The counter mechanic and chakra recovery has me worried. Could encourage a jutsu spam and runaway meta which turned a lot of people off storm 4 and revolution especially. Let’s hope it’s balanced correctly would be cool if we got a beta to test things out!

I just want 2 things for this game. 1. Jutsu(beam) struggles. It was amazing in Storm 1. Not sure if it's an issue when it comes to online. 2. 2v1 matches. Similar ti Demon Slayer where the Demons are solo. May need to add an additional buff of some kind.

Hopefully you can get this opportunity when it comes to the new Tenkaichi because you really know your stuff adding things like massive explosions different styles of melee clashing cinematic beam struggles big brutal combos a dope countering system like a little more timing when it comes to countering knock back attacks cinematic counters like in raging Blast 2 a more improved swaying system all the villains having all of their transformations etc

I'm just really excited for Connections to finally come out. All these changes just sounds so interesting and like a lot of fun. Not to mention that the new characters look amazing. Especially Kawaki and what we've seen of Baryon Naruto so far
Everything besides the spam counters sounds like a great change
The infinite combos was perfect to bring up, but I think certain things like switching after using a jutsu added a layer of depth instead of just button mashing🤷🏽♂️
They need to fix the Switching in the game so when you use it, it can take chakra or make it like Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles switch it would be a lot better

ok so i'm actually really liking the new systems outside of one thing obviously. And one that I think is weird.
-Chakra regen is great since I didn't like how in Storm 4 there was a dead air period where I needed to charge chakra.
-Removing tilts is weird since they were an extra move everyone had. A game with 2 jutsus and a tilt would've been interesting but not having them isn't a big deal.
-2 jutsus is amazing and gives characters way more options
-Removing chakra shuriken is fine since I've always found that move to be uninteresting although I hope that some character's unique chakra shurikens becomes their normal shuriken.
-I personally liked guard break since it gave me guaranteed damage in a game where subbing exists so I'm personally a fan of that change.
-I think the counter change is horrible. Counter in storm 4 was perfect (minus switching to make the counter safe and switching to trap the person you countered and attacking them.) making it free and giving you a combo after it is a terrible change and I think the Storm 4 counter would've work here and would've still be strong since chakra regenerates.
The counterattack support switch thing was a glitch, not intentional, so you shouldn't count that as one of the pros of Storm 4's counter-attack since it was a glitch.

@@nnnmmmable but it's WAY too powerful and even if it does that, the implications this has on other part of the game and also how it just seems annoying doesn't look good. it would've been better to change the sub system rather than making counter insane
@@notasquiremario3299 Storm 4's counterattack literally punished you for using it when all it does is push the opponent away. This counterattack is an actual punishment like Demon's Slayer parry.
I am curious about a few things, removing the charged kunai is going to be huge for ranged attack char's, I hope they get some kind of replacement, in addition is recharge might be a huge buff to ranged as they can keep applying pressure and not having to ever charge might be oppressive.

Big fan of the passive chakra regen change, waiting to refill your resources always killed the flow of the match for me.

After thinking a lot, Im happy with the new system, because now the gane will be more agressive.. I loved doing infinites, ultimate jutsus or even jutsu in the middle of the combos, but I only certain characters could do it.. and I always wanted to do it with other characters.
Now it will be easier, and with counter no longer pushing you away, this will avoid the people who stay running all the time.. at least I think xD.
