An all-new action-adventure spectacle, 20th Century Studios’ “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” opens exclusively in cinemas 9 May 2024.
Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”). The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Patrick Aison (“Prey”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Jason Reed (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. Ferrari”) serving as executive producers.

huh......u probably did not watch the original planet of the apes lmao......which was a million times better than all the others that came out after the 2000s,like popcorn episodes of the fast and furious franchise.....although to be honest, there isnt really much of to root for the humans.....its more of showing the apes, at least the more intelligent and sophisticated ones as being "humanistic" while the human beings were just plot devices.....

Nah. Even though technically the apes on this rebooted franchise are ape/human hybrids created by the ALZ retrovirus that would be jumping the shark and Godzilla at the same time. So probably nothing beyond a kiss like in all the ape movies since 1968.

I actually hope Noa isn't Caesars descendant since that plot could potentially be too predictable and uninteresting. Would be cool if the villain (or some other minor character) was a descendant of Caesar, that could make the story more interesting and complex. But that's just my opinion.

I think its fine as long as its not a plot device. I'd love Noa to be his descendant, but for proxima etc either to not know, or not care. If it is part of the plot, im good with others learning the truth only at the end of the movie so that the story doesn't revolve around it.

Proximus is not a chimp so that‘s probably not the case. Also Noa has the same birthmark as Caesar. They probably intended this to be a visual similarity between ancestor and descendant
