I like the cooling fan. Does it pull air in or blow air out?

Most fans pull air out as the heat builds up in the cabinet. The new Kasco ground cabinet is a bit different but still the idea is to evacuate the heat out of the cabinet.

I have a question…my pond is about 400 feet from my house….it will cost me $10k to get an electrician to run electricity and a subpanel to the pond. However, i already have open 20 amp service at my bottom concrete porch…could i install the compressor on my porch and run 400+ ft of airline to the pond?
Running both the electric and buying the aeration system is around $14k….id rather just buy a better aeration system and run it close to my house….
Thoughts on how i should proceed? Can you bury airline in soil?

Hi Michael...thats a hefty price for running an electric line. Fortunately your correct in that we can use airline in ground to deliver air to the pond. With the easy pro line, they might use 5/8", 3/4" or 1" line...it could be poly, PVC, even pex. What I would need to know is what you use in ground and then we can make sure fittings will be included to work with that. Pump and cabinet can go by the power source, then at the pond, the burial line can be fitted to either the weighted 3/8" line that goes into the water (if the system is single diffuser), or if you have multiple diffusers the burial line would connect to a multi valved manifold, then the weighted lines come off of the other side of that manifold. I will do this kind of set up with power up to 1000' away from a pond, so you are fine at 400' away. Going this route you have a little bit of extra money for the burial line and the fittings, but no big increase in the cost above the standard aeration package as you see listed on the website. Let me know if you have other questions come up.

I have 2 QS-2 and both of them the diffuser broke off from the plastic fittings about 18 months after buying. Their warranty is only a year so I won’t be buying again. I will look at your other options but not Easy Pro. Thanks

Hi Bill, I know you commented on the Kasco diffuser and have to agree, it's solid and a great performer...built like a tank. That said, with the Easy Pro did you contact anyone about it from EP? I have had just a few of these break off over the years...not a lot but it does happen and I think they've always been good about replacing them for me. The diffusers typically have a 5 year warranty. In once instance, I would say the customer may have really tried to tighten the plate down on the stem and just kind of overdid it...it created a stress fracture in the base of the plate. In one other instance I think something like a large turtle may have damaged one as you don't want to put a lot of pressure on the edge of the plate. Actually now that I think about it, we replaced 3 tops over several years so something weird was going on in his pond. Most people don't seem to hav issues with them. Anyway if you want me to check on replacement heads for you, contact me through the AmericanAeration.com website and I can see about that.
