Years of frustration with their boss finally got to them.
Forgot how good Streets of Rage 1-3 music was, and this WAD brought it back even more than Streets of Rage 4 did.
Only SoRR does it better than AUGER;ZENITH.
You could say, "That cyber demon... got BONED!" (okay I'll just rocket myself now)

It's hard to keep up with The Vinculum Gate's pace, but Neo-Bronx Rumble manages. Which considering it's by two completely different mappers, is no easy feat.
Now, the next map. Oh my goodness the next map. I'm not kidding when I say I want to live in it more than I'd like to have a home in the coziest map of Lost Civilization.
14:27 sometimes on Duke Nukem 3D you’ll find troopers actually sitting on the toilets doing their business. Lol imagine if the zombies or imps were doing that too.
Using the same music as the sunlust map you're referencing is a power move ngl
What gave me hell here is that on this map, a lot of side objects dispense items. ATMs, sinks, but the thought of AugerZenithGuy personally clogging each toilet in both rooms is hilarious.
Special shout to the coffee machines: they give you 10 health _and_ armor.
As someone who is from the Bronx I can tell you, this is absolutely what that borough will look like in another 50 years, right down to the gun toting zombies and tacky lighting.
I really like the clever idea you did with Revenants fighting Cyber without Cyber shooting them back. Also this map as a whole is really cool. Peerdolius knows his stuff when it comes to mapping details. Man I love AUGER;ZENITH! 😄
Cyberdemon got violated in the behind by big slappy bones slaps. Never thought I'd see that kind of content on this very Christian channel.

The narrow twisty section early on gives me strong Star Wars Dark Forces vibes. Good game, that.

It just hit me that Doomguy is clearly wearing a Blade Runner style trenchcoat but we also see his bare arms when punching monsters out which leads me to conclude that he's running around town making a very bold fashion statement with his sleeveless trenchcoat
the toilet archvile was hilarious. glad mappers know how to have fun

I find it funny how Decino is surprised about the gradual difficulty progression in this wad, since most wads he plays tend to throw you right into hardcore stuff from the first map lol

The window with the revenants in it opens when you activate the switch for the street fight. It's very inconspicuous before then, because they're there to blow you up if you're careless about using that little niche behind the building's corner as cover. (It's pretty good cover! Just watch where you walk, getting there...)
Very dark indeed, both literally and figuratively. This level has some really strong similarities with the Hell's Kitchen section of the first Deus Ex, emphasizing that urban grittiness and danger. Love the Streets of Rage track, perfect choice. Peerdolius's oeuvre isn't that extensive, but I liked every map they've made.

This level is paced almost perfectly. It's brutal and slaughter-y when it needs to be and knows when to ease up a bit and allow a breather. Also can't go wrong with the Streets of Rage music!
This wad is one of the biggest missed Cacowards.
I appreciate decino's compulsion to check whether the fire actually hurts. Keeping those mappers in check.

Neo-Bronx Rumble: sounds like what would be if The Outsiders and Rumble Fish (1983) took place in NYC instead of Oklahoma.

This _is_ a long map. I never seem to remember the middle 50% or so of it is there, but I'm always pleased to be reminded of the street and subway fights.

I actually got a cool clip here where during the parking garage arena I managed to get the Revenant horde to infight the Cyberdemon and while making loops in circles to avoid the homing missiles I just saw like 7-10 Revenants just punching the heck out of Cyberdemon while SR40'ing by

"Peerdolius" sounds so polish haha I laughed so hard :D It's pretty similar to "Pierdol się" which means "Go fuck yourself" just like the name of the map from Sunlust (29 I guess? same music). Not sure if that's just coincidence or done on purpose :D

When you watch videos of this wad you'd almost forget it's DOOM... that in itself is a very interesting achievement. I mean, if you pick a legendary trio over the three decades, lets say Hell Revealed, Going Down and Myhouse, they are all still DOOM at its core. This almost feels like it isn't. The fact that that was achieved with limit-removing and re-texturing is insane.
Max Man is such an awesome theme. There is a really cool remix of it for a fan-project of Streets of Rage 2 Remake.

I initially missed the Plasma at 8:59 during my playthrough, since it was so dark. By the time I found it, I was pretty much done with the map.

So why did the CyberDaemon not want to infight when he was clearly being hurt by the Revanants?
If first attacked by the player, a monster will not infight for a short time.
If we're grading enemies on the quality of their death sounds, then the Baron of Hell wins hands down. That camel scream is just excellent. I always wish for more Barons. Hell Revealed's "The Path" for the win, especially with -solo-net, which adds a BFG and Cyberdemons, making killing the Barons a lot easier.
The Baron uses a bear sound, not a camel. It's the Imp that dies like a camel.
I've always wondered: At 1:08, when you look at the basic map and say "No secrets here", what is it that you can or can't see on the map that shows you a secret?
Secret sectors have a magenta outline.
@@decino Thanks. Is this a DSDA- or PrBoom-specific feature? I use GZDoom (I will repent one day) and I only see secrets as outlined in magenta after I've discovered them.

Maps 15 onwards are so great. Shame the whole wad wasn't similar, but a few special maps coming up.

Very cool map, looks fantastic, with some nice fights. Though I think the Archvile Carousel hommage is its weakest part. The areas on the sides that completely cover you with no monsters spawning in make the whole fight kinda pointless imo.

Great Midi. Lots of spicey close in work after the initial push through the imps. Fights in this map are pretty fun, though this section of maps tends to run together for me till you get to Luminescent Synapse and especially Miami Anomaly.
