    Hi. Great video. My Macan, which I believe uses an identical adblue pump to the Q5 is throwing up fault ‘ Pressure sensor for reducing agent implausible signal” As sensor is part of the adblue pump am I correct in assuming a new pump is the only solution or can the sensor be forced to work?

    Damsel in distress: I’ve got a Q5 ‘14 plate and the engine warming light is now on permanently. My garage have attempted a lot of diagnostics and now believe the heater element of the adblue is faulty yet I don’t believe they’ve tested to the depth in this video. They state you can’t replace just the heater element so I need a whole new adblue system at £2.5k plus labour :( do you believe this is correct as your video implies just the heating element was fixed?! All help appreciated, TIA

      Hello, as the spare parts are not sold in detail, I replaced the heating resistor with another 3 ohm 100w inside the Bocale and welded a 10k ohm resistor outside between the 2 wires of the level sensor and since then everything works perfectly, on the other hand you must not forget to put the adblue every 10000km, to be quiet. That's good luck.

    Hi , could you help me some advice , my car is VW passat TDI 2011 ,adblue SCR fault , NOx sensor bank 2 ,P229 poor oxigen detect , no consum of urea,how could I know if sensor is damaged or pump not inject urea , sensor is pretty expensive !.
    Thanks

    • @ctcarsltd8804
      @ctcarsltd8804  Před 6 lety

      It's very hard to do over the internet diagnosis, however the fault code you have supplied is too short. Where did you get that code from? was it a scan tool? if so was there a letter after the P229? if so we would need that to narrow the fault down, if you didn't get the last digit, you will need a better equipt scan tool to pull the last digit.

    • @technocris1

      2 Faults Found:
      9567 - NOx Sensor 2 Bank 1
      P229F 00 [237] - Implausible Signal
      MIL ON - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
      15733 - SCR NOx Catalyst Bank 1
      P20EE 00 [096] - Efficiency too Low
      Intermittent - Not Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
      Readiness: 1 1 0 0 0
      that is fault , I've been at dealer , they reset one time , after few hundreds km appear again , no adblue consum .
      Thanks

    • @ctcarsltd8804
      @ctcarsltd8804  Před 6 lety +1

      When there is a fault with a NOx sensor, there will be no adblue consumption, as adblue (reductant) is there to remove the NOx from the NOx catalyst, if the system cannot measure the NOx then there is no way of knowing if the reductant is working or how much is needed, so the system disables the use of it. The first code is most likely a cause of the second code, cannot be 100% as the vehicle isn't with us. How ever the fault code seems to relate to the rear sensor on the NOx cat not the forward most one. Implausible Signal can be caused by a faulty sensor skewing the signal in a maner the ECU doesn't understand or going open or short circuit, another cause of this fault could be down to a wiring fault (small break in the wire which is intermittently causing an open circuit i.e when going over bumps) or the control module. You will need to eliminate each of these to come to a conclusion. When replacing the NOx sensor's there may be a software update needed which you will need to bear in mind. Also a regeneration would probably need to be carried out to convert all the NOx stored, then If you can see serial data and after a long drive when NOx is produced see if you can see a difference on the sensors, if they are mirroring one another, this might tell you the NOx cat isn't carrying out its function. I see your vehicle is in km, guessing your not in the UK?
      In reply to your first question "how could I know if sensor is damaged or pump not inject urea" it's pretty clear the pump isn't at fault, the system has just been disabled. As the NOx Sensor 1 hasn't thrown an implausible fault.
      That's the best advise i can give as you may be able to tell these systems are quite complex, and i have just lightly skimmed on the functionality.

      First of all ,thank you for your detailed replay , for sure I should investigate my self the problem , because In service dealer ,sometime I think they not understand how it works the system , it is complicate as you said, but however !!? do you know if there is possibility to "force" inject urea in SCR just for test pump & injector !my car have over 200KKM until now no problem with reductant system , problems appeared after replaced adblue heater tank in the last winter ,I did it my self , everything it was ok after ,carefully checks : wiring ,connections, allover has been cleaned , adblue solution replaced ,system had been work properly until last summer when I got fault adblue refilling (even though more than 1/2 urea tank filled) .After that fully tank filled, reset fault but since that time system does not work .What could you recommend me ? I think I should investigate all wirings,pump, pipe from pump to injector ,injector it self, clean whole system and only after that if still same issues I'll replace NOx sensor , as I said ,it is so expensive ! and it is needed resoftware !Thank you and await your opinion .

    • @ctcarsltd8804
      @ctcarsltd8804  Před 6 lety

      You want to be looking at the fault codes first and repair them, which in your case is a NOx Sensor fault, Check the wiring from NOx sensor to control module if all ok then you need to look at serial data to see what the NOx sensor is doing, ignore the adblue system until this fault is repaired first, then you will most likely find the adblue will start to work after a regeneration if needed. If the adblue fault still is present with no fault codes, then i would be looking at that system, however for the adblue system to not work there normally is a fault code relating to that.
