thank you so much for posting this excellent tv-biography, which draws very close and very sensitive the life and the career of an incredible tennis player - may be the greatest of all time. me following this career from the time on when a 12 year old girl told a german newspaper that she will end the reign of martina navratilova und become world number one. in german tennis bundesliga she deteated, aged 12 or 13 , adult female players. germany tennis experts called her the wunderkind. it was fascinating to see her making her dream to reality - step by step. what many people may have considered as graf being cold hearted and arrogant was in fact the result of a big shyness. when it comes to the discussions about the rivalery with monica seles a lot of people don´t know ( or don´t want to see) that graf was mentally not at her best when she started to loose to this great young rival. - which certainly was the only player to threaten her. the day before seles defeated graf first time in berlin, the biggest german newspaper published on page 1 that grafs father was black mailed cause he had an sexual affair with a porn actress and that steffi graf might have a little sister. this affair certainly touched grafs willpower for a while - cause the ties to her father were super close. after the defeat in berlin she told a newspaper: "I felt as i iwouldt be on that court. i shouldnt have played". moreover, the defeats by monica seles were mostly very close . so at least we may say: this rivalery wasnt decided yet. graf ended her carreer already with 30. certainly she could have won some more slams . with 22 major-wins she was already close to Margaret Courts 24. moreover, its not that sure that graf at her best wouldnt have dominated players like serena williams. not too long ago klaus hofsäss, a former national coach of female german players and long time advisor to steffi graf, told a german newspaper: " i would like to see how the quality of williams` game and strokes would be - after being forced to run 10 times from the left to the right side of the court". not to forget: graf achieved what no other player, male or female, succeeded: the golden slam.
