- This is not really a review, but more of a discussion on EDC pistol options that are similar to the Daniel Defense H9. All three are Aluminum Framed pistols (Yes, I know I said Metal in the video) these 3 are optics ready, all 3-share similar round capacity. and all share a similar price point.
“Product not the person” Well said, sir
The m&p with an apex trigger in my opinion is the best polymer gun set up. If I wasn’t so deeply invested in Glock I’d totally make the switch
Best polymer striker fired pistol with the Apex trigger and durability/reliability to go with it.
Agreed. Every variation, in every caliber is incredible. Accurate, reliable, durable, and affordable. The best modern striker in my opinion.
I’ll raise you the Walther PDP
100%.
@@TheHashtagSquad2K15 pdp is solid as well. But does not shoot nearly as soft as the M&P 2.0.
That H9 was something I was seriously considering - as always, appreciate facts and approach you take to your content! 🤘🏼
Great comparison
There's so much that can be done with the P365! Absolutely love mine
The 2.0 metal is my favorite pistol, accurate, fast, feels great in the hand, it has made me abandon polymer frame pistols. The weight is not so much more that it makes a difference when carrying but to me it definitely feels like it recoils less
I'll be getting the 2.0 metal competitor soon, I'm left handed and don't know how I've never tried a M&P 2.0 yet. Crazy the metal weighs the exact same as the polymer versions. But they're aluminum, they should have done steel with the 5in competitor though.
@@PkwyDrive13 got all 3 versions of the metal series, love the competitor, I wouldn’t be surprised if the release a steel version in the future but it’s a great shooter with the aluminum frame, really accurate and smooth
All I have to say is the Sig AXG Legion shoots Amazing!!! Accurate, never fails, flat shooting and the grip is awesome!! Hands down the best!!
I have it, and yes it does. I bought an XL when it first came out and I haven't gotten any other variant but I told myself that when that came out in Legion I would get it. My only negative is that they didn't make the barrel as long as the XL.
Yeah but with the comp on it you don’t notice a difference at all shooting even though the barrel is shorter. It’s just an amazing pistol. 🙌🏼.
@@maddog8148 yeah but now imagine if they added it to that
A Hi Point would be better. That gun keyholes. Any gun that works and doesn’t keyhole is way better
Good video. Can I recommend a possible improvement for future multi-gun comparos? Use the Test: 10 rounds, 10 seconds on a B-8 at 10 yards. I think it's a Hackathorn Drill and would force you to push on the trigger to make time.
The x macro is totally badass when you add a pmm comp to the 365 slide too admittedly the cost goes up
Thanks. I appreciate well thought out commentary to consider. I am fine this type of non-review. I would like to see both a precision and a speed string from each.
We will do some more like this. Bills drills kind of cover both. Speed and accuracy. I will mix it up with some dot Tourtue drills as well for the next one
Nice review. I too am very sensitive to trigger characteristics, particularly feel and location of the break. My EDC is a rotation between the P365 (X, Spectre, & AXG Legion) a Wilson DS, and Staccato C. Knowing where to anticipate the break for me is very important.
All those guns have different triggers. I used to be the same way. Then I made a goal only to shoot one gun for 1 year. It made a huge difference on my pistol shooting skills.
I'd love to try the 365 axg legion but being left handed I want an ambi pistol...by the way I'm pretty sure the m&p and sig are just aluminum? The M&P metal 2.0 is going to be my next pistol to try out. Can't believe I've never tried one
I love my P365 AXG Legion…this will be my edc for years to come…I’m shocked at the prices you’re quoting for the P365. I paid $1036 for mine
He meant the legion + romeo optic
@@stonebat no that makes sense…👌🏾
Some folks shop one vs others. Just depends on where you prefer vs how much. Glad to hear to paid less than full msrp
@@SergioTheSurge a local gun shop in Clayton NC is where I go for a pricier gun I’m interested in. They often have the best prices around
Great video , quick question,
Did you use same ammo in all handguns ? FMJ or Hollow point?
Thanks
Yeah he says 115 mag tech right around the 2 minute mark.
@@jeffwampler5268 thanks , i missed that part , found it interesting that halls on targets are different sizes if all same ammo fmj is used , especially from sig ( small halls )
The Sig and M&P are not steel-framed, they’re aluminum. Big difference in weight characteristics between steal and aluminum.
I do enjoy and prefer this format vs just watching someone shooting(boring). I tune in to hopefully learn something on technique and gear.
SIG Legions and S&W Metal series are metal framed
@@b_rad8089 Yeah, steel and aluminum are metal, but are very different materials. Carry and shoot them both and you’ll notice a big difference in holstered weight and felt recoil.
Yeah that was my fault I default to metal because S&w call it’s the metal. But I hope you guys know what I meant.
@@b_rad8089 the S&w are aluminum. Not metal I miss spoke. Even though they are called metal.
The m&p is quite a bit cheaper. I love my m&p's and I also love my xmacros. I don't have the axg legion macro. Though I would love to try the grip. Haven't seen just the grip module for sale.
Like to see Shadow Systems CR920X reviewed in this class.
what slide are you running on the M&P 2.0 Metal?
I am pretty sure he is running an Ed Brown "Fueled" series slide. in fact, entire gun looks to be the Ed Brown worked over version of the Metal 2.0.....quite a step up from the out of the box gun
Thanks Chris, that is it exactly!
If you get a chance to try left hand milk stout nitro you're in for a treat. To get extra crazy, have a small glass of milk and use it as a chaser after a good swig of the beer.
The M&P Metal is aluminum frame pistols. Not steel. I wish they made one in steel.
What we really want is the 5906 re introduced with a integrated rail amd optic ready.
Lmao there is always one guy who gets hung on the irrelevant points.
That smith and Wesson is sick. But I can’t afford one that has that price tag
Not many can. The 2.0 with the stock trigger is pretty awesome
The biggest problem with the DD H9 isn't the trigger, it's the bullet tumbling/keyholing due to the defective barrel they put "1 million rounds through" lol.
DD needs to fix that trigger and release a 2.0 version. Looks like a 1911, shoots like a Hi-Point.
They are so pot committed with the H9. I would not bet money that we don’t see much more on the H9.
Waiting for the H9 Gen 2 before I reconsider the acquisition. It has potential.
However, personal principle forbids me from purchasing first-year [generation] products. Whether they be cars, guitars, guns or what have you; I simply will not buy the initial offering. These principles are rigidly unflinching and non-negotiable.
Just take a look at SIG folks. They have a habit of making _you_ their beta testers. Need I say more?
Make pragmatic decisions - avoid emotional impulses.
Stay classy my friends.
I own all three and I do carry the AXG Legion daily. However, options are like assholes. Everybody has one.
I’ve heard 50/50 on this gun. Half say it’s trash and unreliable and half may be a paid reviewer 🤷🏻♂️
The H9 is a fail. Several guys around here have barrel issues. 2 have gone back then can’t back with the same problem.
I own both Romeo X optics. The compact and Pro. I’m a little pissed at how easily the glass scratched.
Recently put my tried and true p365XL (Icarus Ace macro grip) for a staccato CS.
Cz shadow 2 compact be a better option but I understand you were comparing striker fired guns.
Not for EDC no firing pin block
@@hopewilliams6705Just put it in half cock or full cock with safety on. Problem Solved 👌
I’ll take a Rost Martin instead
😂
I can 30 plus pistols better than the DD 😂💭💨
I can name a handful of guns under 450 better then the dd
DD pistol epic fail
High price key home maker smh
Just two? - almost all new firearms from the more reputable manufacturers are better the H9 😂
Agreed these two were similar in shape, materials, capacity and price. As I stated. 🤙
D.defense is overrated just like their ar15s
