- I have said it before, and I will say it again. The Walther PDP is the current standard for striker fired pistols. The new PDP Professional is already making big moves within the US Law Enforcement community, and in the Special Operations community abroad.
I love my Walther PDP, best carry gun for me!
Been my edc past 6 months and I absolutely love ergo's,trigger, natural point of aim, optic ready=W
And now the adopted pistol of the German Special Forces!
I’m ready for the holster roundup video.
Great review and holster explanation. Thanks 🙏🏼
Walther is my fav too, great video--thanks for your efforts!
The whole kit is just great looking.
Yes, a video on this gun! I bought one as soon as I could! Such a fantastic gun at a ridiculously good price. I love mine, it’s now my new duty gun. Safariland has a holster for it. I ordered a 6304RDS which works great.
The drop leg is old tech, if you are not using the holster for work, the level 3 ALS/SLS is overkill our modded 6390RDS is a great option and 60.00 cheaper.
I have the 4” compact/RMR and 4” full size/ACRO. I shot the 4.5 Pro ACRO at a class and I was very impressed. I’m now waiting on my 4.5 Pro ACRO to arrive.
I tried to go directly thru my local dealer and he couldn’t get it. It is a Law Enforcement only deal. I had to go directly to Walther. It’s been ordered. Now we wait.
ordered mine from Walther 4/10/24 arrived at ffl 4/27

I have the pdp pro sd and I absolutely LOVE it.. best striker fired pistol I've shot
I just purchased one. It wasn’t $999, it was $1250 (Acro included) minus the LE discount. Haven’t shot it yet, but dry firing the trigger…. It feels GREAT. Fits well in the hand, balances well and the irons with Acro line up perfectly. I think is a winner winner chicken dinner
@@jeromebussey8876 that price was given to me at shot show that may be dept price or if you order from Walther direct
I really gotta pull trigger on this one. Insane deal.
Looks good!!!
You can get them now I saw one today at Gallisons
The shop i work at just got one in they are not LE exclusive
From my understanding: this can only be purchased by active MIL and LEO. For $999 it’s an INSANE deal if you’re MIL or LE. Kinda salty 😭
That trigger should be the same one in the polymer PDP Pro series. The 5” SF trigger is a little different in terms of the overall trigger travel. It’s like half of the travel but the same weight as the pro series. If that makes sense.
The full size PDP match polymer is on sale for around 899, has those sweet lightning cuts since the LE edition is so exclusive for us regular folks 😂
As LE we can get the PDP Pro SD for $550
My agency is hiring
@@itsjustashow From where?Unless that’s the agency price. I’m looking at the IOP Walther pdf available on their website right now and it’s $735 for the PDP pro SD.
@@itsjustashow threaded barrel, different trigger, and no ACRO
Since it is a direct mill slide, if you choose to replace the ACRO with another red dot in the future, can this pistol accept Walther plates for Holosun or RMR?
No. This is a dedicated model. That is Acro only. It’s marketed to the LE consumer base.
You can buy the pro model, and use the coupon code for your free plate. Most who are purchasing the PDP Professional will most likely not switch optics in the future. However if you are a person who likes to swap and try new red dots, and don’t have multiple pistols. Using the plate system will always be a better way than going direct milled. I prefer the milled over the plate when I can.
I have a question I have the pdp 4in compact would u change the the guide rod spring to a 15lb or let the factory stay
I just ordered a couple of the captureed 15lb springs. I am curious, I feel my 4” is ok but the 4.5 needs help. So I’m gonna try the 15 in both pistols. And see, a lot of guys swear by them.
@@rdrgear ok cool
Two questions: what barrel length is this pistol and is it just a PDP Match with an ACRO? Thanks
it's 4,5 inch vs. 5 inch of the match. The match has the slide cuts which the professional doesn't. The match has cheap plastic sights while the professional has steel night sights
@@playerseven777 Thanks
how does that compare to the Steel Frame Match?
Simple the steel frame is heavier
Ordering mine now. It’s almost like you’re losing money by not buying one.
Do the iron sights cowitness with the Acro?
Did you not watch the video? He says it multiple times that his is but not all of them. You will have to get a plate or get it milled.
Maybe I missed it but thanks for being a dyck inside of a simple yes or no.🖕🏼
@@mikejaan66 to answer your question, to my knowledge this gun is cut for a acro p2. Which is why its so low. and the sites co witness. Picking mine up this week

Am I the only one with the concern of the PDP quirk where if the slide is bumped out of battery and goes back into battery on its own it will not fire until the slide manually racked? It is seldom mentioned but for some is a dealbreaker. Other striker fired guns if bumped out of battery and the slide goes back into battery in its own will fire without manually racking the slide. Just seems weird. And not good if God forbid you get into a tangled gun fight. Any thoughts? Besides don’t get into an entangled gun fight with someone.
I could be wrong but I believe the PDP's with the 2.0 cut dont have this issue anymore... I know my compact with the 2.0 cut and my wifes F-series with the 2.0 cut dont have this issue but I cant say 100% all dont
This is the reply I got from Walther, back in March when I ask about this.
The factory implemented a running change in our PDP Slides as it relates to the milled area of Disconnector Curve. The original design functioned as follows: if the gun is out of battery and the trigger is NOT pulled, then once the slide returns into battery, the trigger remains live. However, if the trigger is pulled with the Slide out of battery, the trigger will be dead when the slide returns to battery. With the new Slide design, it prevents the trigger from going dead even with it being pulled when the slide is out of battery. There is no retrofit for the original PDP slides as they are milled to specific dimensions. If you would like to purchase a new slide (based on availability) you are welcome to purchase a bare Slide at the following pricing: 4” Slide is $245, 4.5” Slide is $252 and the 5” slide is $275. This would require you to transfer all of the slide components from the original Slide to this New one. Or, you could purchase a completely assembled New slide for $395.)
Hope is helps you.
@@pcb8639DO you work for walther be cause that was one hell of an answer
They fixed that issue on the newer versions
@@massiveaction6217 No, that is what they sent me.
Hello. I have the Walther Professional with the Surefire 300 Turbo light. I’m on the Rdr site via cell phone and I can’t seem to find the holster I need. Can you direct me to the right holster by name? Thanks in advance and love your content. God Bless. 🫡

Did you find this gun to be snappy? Been seeing a lot of people talk about it
Snappy different to everyone. The ZR 15lb spring makes a difference.
NO, IT'S NOT SNAPPY AT ALL!
@@thevet7420 wait till the follow up video drops wit the ZR Tactical recoil spring. I felt the same way as you. But now I’m a convert to the ZR Tactical.
Paddle version available?
And now available to regular folk for $1599.
Ehhhh while i dont own this pistol, i had a 4.5" pdp, and bought on all the hype, sadly, was not even close to meeting the expectations set by said hype.
I went back to the SIG VTAC R2 AND based upon your review of the 1811 by Brouwer Solutions, and i have not been happier, the 2311 version is on my list but not sure i want to change it at all.
It comes down to personal preference. I have the PDP and Q5 Match. I also have 6 Sigs from 365 XL, 3 320s 9mm, 1 320 45 ACP and the X 10 - 10mm. All the Sigs put together wouldn't come close to the PDP in over performance and the Walther has the best out of the box triggers on the market. Even with 1 of the 320s being custom built it's not close to the PDP IMO. Again it's personal preference for me, as stated I can't say the Sigs are even close to the PDP. Happy shotting.
@@arlissyoung8899 agreed, and why different makes is the greatest part of the Stryker fired pistol, and the development since Glock, each shooter has their own likes and dislikes.
For me the PDP just never cut the SIG, I'd definitely run it over a glock, I have to say it has a better trigger than the M&P. Not knocking it, the PDP just wasn't my favorite.
@@jw5297 And there's not a thing wrong with that at all. I have a number of Glocks and they are my least liked of my line up. There good guns but there's things I don't like at all about them, grip angel and trigger being the biggest part and it greatly butt hurts the Glock fan boys. Sorry guys, there's better guns to be had IMO. Happy Shotting even if a single shot, keep sending them down range with what you like.
@@arlissyoung8899 💯
I'll stick with my PDP compact😅
Hell I had my m&p before police precincts could get them!!!
Their steel frame price is Outrageous some how 2X gun prices over pro version no justification for price
No reason for you maybe, for others the all steel frame is preferred. And the price is not an issue
I have the PDP Match Steel Frame for 1799 and it’s worth every damn penny. Also got the PDP Professional for really good introductory price. Now it’s going up.
Put one on layaway today
You won’t regret it
So, is it the best striker-fired duty pistol? Or was the title just click-bait?
Currently in my opinion yes. But but everyone has their flavor
What pistol are you currently shooting
THE BEST!!!!
Defending the ACRO failures about “issues happen.”
What about their military dots. The m2, m4’s, T-2. Those inherently never have issues.
The acro is just dog shit. Their rifle dots are great
Just bought one from Palmetto State Armory $799
@@jeffreystone8681 not this one. The professional comes with the Acro.
Probably buis sights
I want one of these pdp's 😂 but I want a Glock 21 gen 5 mos more lol I feel like a chick that can't decide what to eat 😂😂😂😂
Glock over a Walther PDP? Either you’re joking, under 25 years old, or a wannabe gangsta. 🤣
