    TWO PLACES: The Maui Tropical Plantation and The Sugar Museum are two places worthy of your visit when on Maui. If you're looking for something to do while waiting for your late flight at OGG, consider one or both of these places. They're both near the Kahului Airport.

    Just watched this video now. Beautiful quality. We have visited the Tropical Plantation a few times. Little grand kids enjoyed it. Love walking around admiring all the colourful Tropical plants. Beautiful place. Thanks for the memories.

      ALOHA DOREEN. Thanks for watching and commenting. Yea, Maui Tropical Plantation is a super nice place, Or it was. Not sure what the future will hold for it. I think their famous Mill House Restaurant may not open, but I hear a wide variety of possibilities. We'll see. Glad you got to enjoy it and hope you come back to Maui. Best Aloha Wishes.

    Thanks for the video. Beautiful place. I always stop by when we vacation in Maui. They use to have two monkeys on property named Carlos and Santana. LOL. The resturant is great and the view is incredible.

      Aloha Charles. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Hope you get to Maui soon and bring lots of money. LOL. Maui Tropical Plantation is an awesome place, but it may not open again. For sure, the Millhouse Restaurant will not re-open and it's considered one of Maui's best restaurants. The owner seems to want to do something else with all that land. Not sure. Stay safe. Best Aloha Wishes.

      Aloha & Thank You J. Scott. It's a casual, walk-around place on Maui. Maybe stop on the way back from Iao Valley. We did enjoy The Mill House Restaurant. Slightly expensive, but good quality and outstanding service. Get a table outside!! Thanks again for watching and Best Aloha Wishes To You Always.

    Aloha Steve, Good video. The Tropical Plantation is a pretty neat place. I haven't been there for right about 25 years. It was nice then and looks even nicer now. Some new additions, the restaurant, the bar, and coffee store. The sugar cane museum looks like a nice place to visit. You might actually learn something there. I'll bet a lot of millennial tourists don't have a clue about how these islands use to look like when sugar was king. One of my favorite swimming beaches was walking through a sugar cane field to the beach. Now it is a timeshare hotel at Ka' Kaanapali beach North between Kahekili beach and Dukes Beach House. It use to be the only thing You saw was the Embassy Hotel down the beach about a half-mile or so. Aloha til next time.

      Aloha & Thanks Napili54. Appreciate your comments. You always take me back in time, way before I got here 16 years ago. You know so much about our true island history and I love you sharing with us. My-Oh-My -- to think of the beaches before the resorts showed up. You've got some wonderful memories! You're right. There's just a few places left on Maui to learn a bit of the island's history. Now, most don't know that we have sugar cane fields in the middle of the island (the so-called flat land). So much of our history is gone. Bless you and thanks always for your comments.

    Thank you!

      ALOHA BFutures. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. I don't think so. We've been delivering taffy there for years, and there's always a few tour busses and many cars. I've never heard of needing a reservation. But at the Mill House Restaurant,, you might need a reservation if they have re-opened. I'll have to check and see if they are now ope again, as it's a wonderful restaurant. Thanks and Best Aloha Wishes.

    I remember going to the Mill House once in the early 90s.
    I was tagging along with a friend who had a business event of some kind if memory serves me correctly.
    I also remember seeing that Sugar Mill equipment in operation when I lived on Maui during the first half of the 90s.
    In 1990 I drove tourists to the top of Haleakala for a living and saw many cane fires from way up there. .

      @MauiTravelVideos  Před 4 lety

      Aloha & Thanks Always John. I like you sharing your memories of Maui. So many changes through the years and your memories are vivid and historical. Even though I don't miss the cane fires! Tourists today don't really know much about the island's history, expecially with the sugar cane plantations now all gone. Little bit sad. No pineapple and no sugar cane. Just Resorts! We're about 98% tourism. I guess it's progress, but I'm not so sure. Oh, Well. Thanks for sharing!!

      Aloha & Thank You Gayle. Wowszie! You're doing quite well and have a lot of SUBS. I'm Jealous. I always suggest tourists get off the West Side of Maui, just in case there is a wreck on the Pali that closes the road and you miss your flight. Thanks for your compliments. I use Filmora 9 from Wondershare. I love it. I don't feel the need to upgrade to Filmora Pro just yet. Still learning. Aloha Best Wishes to you for 2020.
